When the Justice League was first formed in February 2003, it was due to a crisis. A race of energy beings called the Appellaxians attempted to conquer Earth. Without question, the two main reasons for its continued existence are: no one individual, no matter how powerful, could save the world alone and to uphold truth, liberty, and justice. It was founded by Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern Hal Jordan, Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter. Green Arrow, Hawkman, and Hawkwoman joined the League in May 2004. In 2006, the League became known to the public. After some time, a kinship was formed and most knew each other's secret identities while trust was still an issue for some. They erected their first secret sanctuary at Mount Justice then four years later the location was compromised by the Joker. Soon after, they went public but their high profile status prevented them from effectively fighting criminals, who were becoming increasingly efficient at operating under the radar. The League since expanded to 16 total members with the additions of Zatara, Captain Atom, Black Canary, Green Lantern (John Stewart), Captain Marvel, and Red Tornado in August 2008.

The Justice League set up a public base on Earth at the Hall of Justice in Washington D.C. and secretly in space at the Watchtower. Leadership rotated between members through election. Once elected, the leader would serve for one year unless he or she had to step down for some reason. Batman was formally elected to be the League's leader and served during Team Year Zero. The League also established relationships with the United Nations and the United States government. Currently, it is an international organization with a United Nations charter.

On July 4th, Team Year Zero, a little after 14:00 Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), Zatara requested a full Justice League response to the sorceror Wotan. The other 15 members of the Justice League rendezvoused with Zatara and defeated Wotan. Following the battle, they arrived at what was once Project Cadmus' two-floor headquarters in Washington D.C., on July 5th at 00:39:16 EDT, to find Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Superboy, and an unconscious Blockbuster. Batman vowed, on behalf of the League, to initiate a full investigation of all 54 floors of the company and agreed to the young partners' demands. Blockbuster was escorted by Captain Atom, the Green Lanterns, Hawkman, and Hawkwoman to the proper authorities. An undercover unit, under the guidance of Batman, Red Tornado, and Black Canary, was founded to go on covert missions on behalf of the League.

On August 3rd, it took eight members of the Justice League to defeat a new menace named Amazo in Litchfield County. S.T.A.R. Labs was brought in to analyze the parts and the Team to safeguard the transports. On October 1st to 2nd, the Justice League split into small units and fought Plant Creatures across the planet while the Team disabled the system controlling the beasts. When the threat was averted, the League arrived in Bayou Bartholomew and forced the Injustice League to surrender. On November 11th, the Justice League performed a joint mission with the Team to destroy five Flying Ice Fortresses causing ice storms across the United States of America. On November 25th, the Justice League met at the Watchtower to discuss another round of expansion. Superman nominated Icon, Wonder Woman nominated Rocket, Batman nominated the Atom and Plastic Man, Flash nominated the Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Green Arrow nominated Red Arrow, and Dr. Fate nominated Kid Flash and Aqualad. Captain Marvel and Dr. Fate's status as members were also called into question.

After several hours, the Justice League voted to ratify the results without objection. On December 30th, a public ceremony was held at the Hall of Justice where five new members were inducted into the Justice League: Dr. Fate, The Atom, Plastic Man, Icon, and Red Arrow. However, after the League gathered at the Watchtower for an induction party, they were all compromised by Starrotech implants administered by Red Arrow, who discovered he was the mole working for the Light. Vandal Savage arrived and the League submitted to the villain. On December 31st, six members were deployed on an away mission off Earth to Rimbor for 16 hours then recalled to the Watchtower via Hush Tube. Just before midnight, the Team successfully administered the Curotech and neutralized the effects of Starrotech. However, there were still questions left unanswered about the Light's plans for the Justice League in phase two of their ultimate plan.

The second Blue Beetle of modern times, Ted Kord, Black Lightning and Green Lantern Guy Gardner joined the Justice League sometime within the span of five years. In Team Year Two, the Justice League called off their official search for Speedy while Guardian and Red Arrow continued on. In Team Year Three, the Justice League Superboy, Guardian, and Dr. Spence liberated the Genomorphs from Project Cadmus and relocated them to Geranium City to build a life of their own. In Team Year Five, Captain Atom became the leader of the Justice League. On February 18th, Batman dispatched the League across the planet to quell panic and start rescue efforts after natural disasters generated in the wake of Tiamat's awakening. After Aquagirl sacrificed her life to stop Tiamat, the League confiscated the statue fragments used to awaken it and destroyed them. By the end of the year, Zatanna and Rocket joined the League as its 25th and 26th members.

On December 1st, Team Year Five, four members of the Justice League were teleported to the Moon against their will by Kylstar. They were joined by Superboy and several dubious beings. Zatanna, Martian Manhunter, Flash, Atom, and Plastic Man went to Metropolis to investigate the spherical field in Metropolis and teamed up with Alpha Squad to confront The Collector of Worlds. Soon all the heroes and others taken were reunited aboard The Collector's ship. After some discussion, The Collector agreed to spare Metropolis and restore it to normal.

In Team Year Six, in January, the Justice League and the Team performed a simultaneous strike on 14 locations on Earth occupied by Kroloteans and stolen Zeta technology. They continued to track down remaining Kroloteans and issued special scanners to governments across the planet. On January 6th, several members of the League partnered with the Team for a mission to capture the Kroloteans hiding out on Malina Island. On January 26th, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Hawkwoman, Green Lantern John Stewart, Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, Hawkman, and Icon left for Rimbor to stand trial for the 16 hour rampage that took place five years ago. The Light issued some well placed bribes to ensure their conviction.

On May 26th, the Justice League worked in conjunction with the Team to defend Earth from the Warworld. Dr. Fate, Captain Atom, Captain Marvel, and Rocket participated in the joint mission. While the Team infiltrated Warworld, the Leaguers took out weapons launched by Mongul. When Blue Beetle reported the rest of the Team and the Crystal Key went missing, Captain Atom decided the key chamber should be guarded in shifts by two Leaguers. Captain Marvel and Rocket took the first shift. Green Arrow, Plastic Man, and Zatanna guarded the chamber on May 27th. The Atom, Flash and Aquaman, on the 30th. Black Canary, Captain Marvel, and Black Lightning guarded the chamber on June 19th. They were ousted by the Light.

On June 20th, those on Rimbor were found guilty on all charges. Superboy, Miss Martian, and Adam Strange arrived with solid evidence exonerating the heroes and revealing the true culprits, the Light. Eventually, they were cleared of all charges and released. While on their way off the planet, they witnessed Vandal Savage's message and arrival of the Warworld. At 23:16 EDT, they returned to Earth and were met by the Team. All of the League attended Wally West's funeral. On July 4th, Black Canary became the new leader of the Justice League. Batman then announced the Team would operate side by side with the League aboard the Watchtower. In November, a group from the Justice League left for space on a good will tour to repair their reputation. The group included, at times, Superman, Wonder Woman, Hawkman, Hawkwoman, Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Green Lantern John Stewart, Green Lantern Hal Jordan, Icon, Captain Atom, Martian Manhunter, and Black Lightning.

In Team Year Seven, Batwoman, Elongated Man, Blue Devil, Magog, Fire, and Ice joined the League as well as Steel, Hardware, and Katana. Kaldur'ahm succeeded King Orin as the new Aquaman. He and Wonder Woman served as co-chairs of the League. Secretary-General Luthor used his position and influence to use the United Nations to place increasingly more strict regulations on the League. Batman, Wonder Woman, the second Aquaman, Nightwing, Miss Martian, Robin, and Oracle formed a secret task force dedicated to taking down the Light through their own covert missions and secretly coordinating the other teams of heroes. However, their existence would be unknown even to the Justice League and the Team in order to fight fire with fire and for their allies to have plausible deniability.

On July 16th, 00:16 UTC Team Year Eight, a group from the Justice League helped Adam Strange and the Rannians on Rann battle an Apokoliptian invasion force. Superman lifted a tree out of the ground and heaved it at a flock of Parademons. A Parademon used a Father Box to heal another one's wounds. Ice froze one flying above her. Wonder Woman punched another while in flight. Ice blasted another. Wonder Woman saw Plasma charging and warned Ice. She created a barrier. Black Lightning opted to blast it than risk close combat. Plasma's heart gave out, reached to Lightning, died, and petrified. Adam Strange, Alanna, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern John Stewart, Martian Manhunter, and Lightning gathered around Plasma's body. To Black Lightning's horror, Alanna ran an analysis that confirmed Plasma was a 14 year old teenage meta-human girl from Earth. As a result of the trauma, he lost the power to generate electricity.

On July 27th, 19:57 EDT, Steel and Black Lightning zetaed to the Watchtower for an emergency League meeting. Aquaman zetaed shortly after. He invited Miss Martian, as Team leader, to observe. He admitted he could use the moral support. Physically present were Aquaman, Dr. Fate, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Shazam (formerly Captain Marvel), Steel, Rocket, Zatanna, Batman, Red Tornado, and Black Lightning. Present as a hologram were Plastic Man, Katana, Flash, Hardware, Batwoman, and Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman revealed their various missions in space confirmed Meta-human trafficking had spilled out into the galaxy and on multiple worlds, Earth's meta-humans were being deployed by the enemy as weapons of mass destruction. Among other things, the presence of meta-humans undermined their efforts to rebuild both Earth and the League's reputations after the trial on planet Rimbor. Lightning scoffed. Wonder Woman apologized about her words diminishing the life of Plasma. Lightning clarified they needed to find out how it happened and how it got past the League.

Aquaman was about the address the ongoing struggle with meta-human trafficking but Green Arrow called it a disaster. Aquaman continued and detailed how abductions of teenagers and children were on an unprecedented scale and even those that tested negative for the meta-gene were rarely seen again. Batman stated meta-humans were being treated as the next exploitable resource by first world countries, third world countries, rogue nations, and corporations. He concluded it was a global pandemic. Aquaman then shifted to their main obstacle, United Nations Secretary-General Lex Luthor and his use of the United Nations charter to place more and more restrictions on the League at every turn. Batman believed they had to assume Luthor was working behind the scenes to turn other nations against them. Arrow declared he hamstrung them and brought up the tsunami that hit Rhelasia and how they could not even go out on a humanitarian mission. Batman declared they became removed, distant from the people the League was created to save.

Canary contended it was not by choice. Batman wondered if the League outlived its usefulness. Wonder Woman and Aquaman disagreed the League should be disbanded. Aquaman acknowledged they had their difficulties but they still have a positive impact and are an important symbol for truth and justice worldwide. Batman stated all that mattered was the mission and the only way to remove the roadblock is by removing the League. Wonder Woman and Aquaman protested. Batman and Green Arrow tendered their resignations and staged a walk out in protest over the increasingly obstructionist United Nations regulation. Virtually, Batwoman, Hardware, Katana, and Plastic Man resigned, too. Canary realized it was a plan arranged in advance and she was kept out of the loop because they knew she would not blindside Aquaman. She refused to leave with them. Batman and Arrow departed with their proteges on the Team: Arrowette, Spoiler, and Robin. Black Lightning also resigned but for personal reasons. Aquaman and Wonder Woman agreed a statement needed to be issued disavowing them so the League would not be held responsible for what their former members do.

Batman attempted to recruit Black Lightning to his team but Pierce declined to join his "Batman Inc." and made it known he did not trust him. On July 30th, 12:21 EDT, Catherine Cobert completed her address to the United Nations General Assembly during the Meta-Human Summit. She shared who resigned from the League. Luthor expressed deep disappointment they did not believe in the values that the League claimed to represent. Ambassador Garth found it laughable and outlined how the ridiculous quantity of conditions, exclusions, and stipulations that they added to the League's charter over Atlantean protest made it impossible for the League to do its job then cited not even humanitarian missions could begin without the unanimous approval of the Security Council and those policies were costing lives. Greater Bialya's Sumaan Harjavti wondered why no one from Bialya was invited to join the League. Ambassador Troia teased when it produced a hero who was not a wanted criminal, the League would consider their candidacy.

The assembly laughed at his expense. Harjavti called that an outrageous exaggeration. Troia translated that was it was largely inaccurate. Ambassador Kaizen Gamorra believed the heroes were all vigilantes. Luthor called for order. Nightwing shared the outcome of the Bedlam Syndicate incident with the League. Nightwing hacked the Justice League computer to give his covert team G-designations for Zeta-Tube access. Similarly, Batman assigned his covert team hacked Z- designations. By September 8th, the League in space were busy on the planet Applexia. On September 10th, 12:01 PDT, Flash and Shazam posted as Stateville Penitentiary guards driving the transport holding Brick and Shade for a secured flight to Belle Reve Penitentiary. They were attacked by Sportsmaster and Abra Kadabra. Rocket and Aquaman intervened but Sportsmaster and Shade got away.

On September 29th, 09:00 MDT, in Taos, Aquaman announced the Justice League and S.T.A.R. Labs' opening of the first Meta-Human Youth Center for children and teenagers abducted and abused by meta-human trafficking. The League donated their time to train them in controlling their meta-abilities. Canary volunteered as a youth counselor. On October 12th, 07:56 EDT, Steel informed Dr. Silas Stone of S.T.A.R. Labs Detroit he was placed in charge of studying a Father Box for both S.T.A.R. And the League. Green Lantern Hal Jordan later delivered it. After Garfield Logan's experience with a pair of Goode Googles, he gave intel to Miss Martian it was being used to test teenagers and children for the meta-gene then brainwash them into going to the nearest trading post. She then took the intel to the League. On October 31st, the Justice League and the Team sent squads to take down meta-human trafficking depots simultaneously so one location could not tip off another. All raids were successful.

On November 3rd, 23:16 UTC, the Justice League visited Thanagar. Hawkman, Hawkwoman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern Guy Gardner conferred with Commander Hro Talek at the remains of a Nth metal refinery raided by Granny Goodness's Orphanage. Talek, however, noted their scans only detected bio-signs of Earthlings and voiced his distrust of them. Hawkman reiterated the meta-human trafficking crisis but Talek entertained the notion of sending a Hawk fleet to quarantine Earth's populace then referred to the League as sidekicks. Gardner took offense. Wonder Woman reminded him the League was traveling the galaxy in peaceful cooperation but Talek interrupted and revealed Thanagar was still working on repairing their reputation after the Rimbor incident since one of the brain washed heroes was Hawkwoman then it fell under human attack then the League showed up to sing a reprieve. Hawkman tried to deescalate the situation but Talek dismissed them. Gardner enveloped everyone in a sphere construct and took off but also formed a raspberry. They yelled at Gardner.

Gardner revealed he did his own scan during the discussion and found an ion trail from the Orphanage. He invited anyone to kiss his ring. They yelled at him. On November 4th, 08:24 MST, Aquaman held a press conference at Taos warning the public about Goode VR Goggles and their connection to a major meta-human trafficking chain which the Justice League took swift action to shut down then those rescued were to be counseled and rehabilitated at the Meta-Human Youth Center. At 11:05 EST, on the G. Gordon Godfrey Show, Luthor downplayed the League's victory and pointed out they failed to coordinate with local authorities and as a result, the big players in the chain vanished into the wood work which further antagonized national and international governments the League should be cooperating with. Foreign governments threatened sanctions.

On November 6th, 19:12 UTC, the Justice League caught up to the Orphanage in space. At 15:01 EST, Ambassador Troia and Catherine Cobert held a press conference at the former site of the Hall of Justice to fight to preserve the League's autonomy and used the deadlocked political committee tasked with how to renovate the site as an example of the negative impact of Luthor's policy. At 20:18 EST, Luthor told Godfrey there was a difference between autonomy and oversight and the United Nations needed accountability and transparency from the League. On November 7th, 01:20 UTC, Big Barda reported the Justice League was approaching the Orphanage thanks to the ion trail she left as bait. The Orphanage opened fire. Superman, Wonder Woman, and Hawkwoman donned Space-Belts and breached sector 16 of the Orphanage. They soon discovered it was the end point of the Light's trafficking of meta-humans to Apokolips. Hundreds of meta-humans were being held in cells. They also discovered a giant machine built from all of the stolen elements they were investigating. The Female Furies attacked.

Seeing no other choice, Desaad and Granny Goodness activated the machine and attacked everyone with Anti-Life. To her surprise, Superman resisted and forced himself and Barda out of the machine's range then he destroyed the control panel with heat vision. Granny boomed the trio into space. Gardner formed a sphere construct to save them from asphyxiation. The Orphanage boomed away. On November 16th, 21:21 EST, Aquaman briefed the Team about a suspected meta-trafficking site in Verhoyansk. He emphasized it better stay a reconnaissance mission since the League was not allowed in Russia without prior consent. During the mission, they ran into Amanda Waller's Task Force X. Black Manta informed Waller the squad was part of the Justice League's covert ops unit, the Team. On November 17th, 10:10 CST, Waller approached Aquaman at Belle Reve Penitentiary and told him if he ever exposed her operation, she would expose his. Aquaman agreed to the arrangement, stating they all had secrets to keep.

On December 4th, 19:09 EST, Beast Boy called a meeting with the Team and Aquaman to formally declare the formation of a public team of young super-heroes to rebel against the system and fight the good fight in clear view. Aquaman was against it at first citing the League did not put those kind of targets on underage heroes. Beast Boy countered the League could not do what was needed because they were playing on the Light's game board. He cited current headlines like Luthor restricting League action pending United Nations review and how an anti-meta rally ended in violence then stated they lost the hearts and minds of the people. He reiterated his team would break the rules the League could not and connect with the people in ways that could not be blocked by the government, quiet the fears of the public terrified by the meta-gene generation, and inspire that generation.

Tigress asked how that was different than what the League did. He brought up the social media buzz generated from when he, Kid Flash, and Blue Beetle were credited with saving meta-humans in Taos and how it was something people could brand without Luthor or Goode's influence and make themselves part of the story. Aquaman noted he gave them a lot to consider. Beast Boy clarified it was already a done deal, they just had to get on board or get out of the way. Wonder Girl, Blue Beetle, Kid Flash, Static, and Geo-Force revealed they were with Beast Boy. Aquaman conceded but got Beast Boy to agree to still covertly answer to the League through Miss Martian. Beast Boy later declared the team was called the Outsiders.

On December 21st, 10:12 EST, Zatanna talked to Aquaman about the Outsiders' current mission in Santiago de Cuba. Since Klarion was the primary opposition, she was insistent she help them but the Justice League's hands were still tied by United Nations regulations. Aquaman stated the United Nations nor Cuba would allow the League to intervene. She told him if he could not find Dr. Fate, she would go. He reminded her she was a Leaguer and would risk an international incident. Zatanna promised to stay under radar and zetaed out. After the Outsiders, and Zatanna, defeated Klarion in Cuba and took the willing meta-humans to Taos, Wendy Jones informed them they were now globally viral and bigger than the Justice League. On December 31st, as part of his ploy to discredit the Outsiders, Luthor got permission from General M'barra then called the League for help. The Flash arrived and helped put down the Bwundaian Independence Front.

On January 22nd, Team Year Nine, Pierce observed Bruce Wayne, Tim Drake, Kaldur'ahm, and M'gann M'orzz outside the Hub's medical bay and realized they were all working together in secret. His anger overtook him and he confronted them, then realized the Justice League walk out was planned, Grayson recruited him for the Markovia mission to keep him involved in the hero community, and their secret group manipulated it so the Outsiders' first mission was a success. He spoke to Wayne and Kaldur'ahm in private. Wayne refused to apologize and stated the mission came first. Pierce objected on the grounds they would lose themselves in trying to do so. Grayson, now conscious, tried to take the blame. Gordon later spoke with Wayne out on the balcony. He was not sure why Pierce could not see their reasoning but she pointed out he set himself up to be surrounded with allies trained to take his orders except Wonder Woman who was off in space for the League's good will tour. He brought up the mission but she asked him if it was the mission or his mission. Brion and Tara Markov arrived and informed everyone that Dr. Jace betrayed them and handed Violet Harper over to Gretchen Goode and Ultra-Humanite.

On January 25th, 22:25 UTC, the three Green Lanterns encapsulated the Orphanage to prevent it from booming away again. However, Granny Goodness tested her Anti-Life machine and enslaved the League in one fell swoop. On January 26th, the two Team squads and Geo-Force boomed to the Orphanage to locate Violet Harper. Beta Squad was taken off Miss Martian's psychic link by the enthralled Martian Mahunter. Miss Martian tried to brain blast Granny but it was not enough and the squads were soon enthralled, too. At 02:48 UTC, Victor Stone boomed to the Orphanage in pursuit of Gretchen Goode. He watched as Goode was forcibly merged back into Granny Goodness then he liberated Harper from the cerebral-leash. Harper took on a rainbow aura then unleashed a pulse that neutralized Anti-Life and restored the League, Team, and Geo-Force to normal. They all attacked the Anti-Life machine then the Lanterns contained the explosion. Granny was forced to flee and boomed out of the Orphanage in a rage. On February 14th, 21:01 EST, Tod Donner reported a contingent of the Justice League broke up a meta trafficking ring in outer space and brought home 316 abducted teenagers.

On February 15th, 00:45 EST, Lex Luthor stated the United Nations would not lift any restrictions that prevents the League from entering Markovia on the grounds Baron Bedlam's coup needed peaceful negotiation, not super-heroics. At 18:32 EST, Black Canary and Red Tornado watched the news reports about the coup in Markovia from the Watchtower. The Light plotted to use the coup to create a public debacle in which Terra publicly killed Beast Boy and Luthor would use it to get his hero registry passed then his own team of heroes Infinity Inc. would one day supplant the Justice League. Shazam, Zatanna, and Rocket joined Tornado and Canary on the Watchtower. Terra instead sided with the Team and spared Beast Boy but Geo-Force publicly executed Bedlam and took the throne for himself then banished the Team and Outsiders from Markovia when they refused to support him. On February 17th, Superboy went public during a speech at the United Nations to help implicate Luthor and get him dismissed as Secretary-General. On February 20th, the Outsiders and Justice League continued trending highly positive across social media.

On February 24th, 19:00 EST, the Justice League, the Team, the Outsiders, and the Anti-Light met on the Watchtower. The three Lanterns, Hawkman, Hawkwoman, Martian Manhunter, Captain Atom, Dr. Fate, Blue Devil, Magog, Steel, Icon, Fire, Ice, Elongated Man, Metamorpho, Batwoman, Katana, Hardware, Plastic Man, Spoiler, Arrowette, and Orphan were on comms remotely. Nightwing told everyone about the dubious activities of the Anti-Light and Aquaman and Wonder Woman, resigned as co-leaders of the Justice League. Miss Martian resigned as Team leader. To his surprise, Black Lightning was nominated as the next leader and swiftly voted in. He accepted on the grounds that Batman and Nightwing's teams would merge back into the League and Team and no more secret manipulations and coordination being kept from others would take place ever again. Black Lightning gave a speech that highlighted his desire to end keeping secret operations from each other and stressed the ends don't justify the means or else they would become what they fought against like Vandal Savage, Ra's al Ghul, Black Adam, and Geo-Force.

Those who resigned in Team Year Eight rejoined the League. Metamorpho became its newest member. At some point, Cyborg and a fourth Green Lantern joined the League. In Team Year Ten, Black Lightning was elected to serve a second term as leader. He decided to place an emphasis on metal health and started a policy that made annual mental health checks with Black Canary or Miss Martian mandatory for all members of the Justice League, the Team, and the Outsiders. If that mandate was not met, the person would forfeit their membership. On February 23rd, Team Year Ten, Will Harper, Kaldur'ahm, Raquel Ervin, Conner Kent, M'gann M'orzz, and Artemis Crock rescued Clayface, now going by Harlan Matthews, while posing as Bowhunter Security. Kaldur'ahm made Matthews an offer to join the Justice League but he declined, citing he already had a job at Bowhunter. On March 22nd, Superman presided over an open channel with the Science Center in Ma'aleca'andra on M'arzz amid preparations to test its Zeta-Tube. The Watchtower was temporarily moved above the Zeta-Shield. Contact was lost after the Zeta-Tube was destroyed by Lor-Zod. Martian Manhunter arrived unharmed at the Watchtower.

On March 23rd, 01:28 EDT, Superman and Cyborg concluded the communication outage was on Mars' end and not theirs. Cyborg pointed out it would be too dangerous to generate a Boom Tube to M'arzz without a communications signal and not having been there before. Superman hailed Steel on comms and requested him to return to the Watchtower with the Javelin. Em'ree J'onzz managed to re-establish contact with the Watchtower and was relieved to learn Manhunter, her uncle was safe. Cyborg attempted to lock onto the signal but could not once Lor-Zod destroyed the M'arzz-Earth Communications Satellite. Steel informed Superman they were on the other side of the Milky Way Galaxy and even at post-lightspeeds, it would still take a couple of days to return. Martian Manhunter surmised Miss Martian, Superboy, and Beast Boy were on their own for the time being. On March 25th, Superman and Martian Manhunter arrived but it was too late and Superboy was thought to have perished while safely detonating a Gene Bomb affixed with Kryptonite while sinking in lava.

The Light still coveted the Justice League's intelligence and came up with a plan to steal it from their computer system. On April 20th, during an incursion of the Vault by the League of Shadows, Cassandra Savage made her move and dispatched Utility Fog hidden on her by a Glamour Charm and breached the lead computer then it returned to Savage undetected. On April 21st, 00:49 UTC, Hawkwoman reported to Martian Manhunter that the League had accounted for all known Kryptonite on Earth and in the Milky Way Galaxy and none were missing. Manhunter noted that did not mean there was not more out there. Hawkwoman agreed but added that meant they were out of leads and apologized. He was sorry, too, and signed off. On Santa Prisca, Oracle, through a Beetle Miniature Drone, emitted a sonic pulse that successfully disrupted all infiltrators before the stolen League data could be processed. By May 14th, Black Lightning pulled Aquaman from his search of Ocean-Master twice to lead League missions.

On May 14th, 03:20 EDT, Phantom Stranger and Jason Blood left Roanoke Island to recruit help from the Justice League, the Outsiders, and the mystic community to deal with the Lord of Chaos known as Child. Madame Xanadu helped coordinate sending heroes to each new crisis as quickly as she could predict them. At 19:47 AEST, Phantom Stranger, Red Tornado, and Terra responded to the Pillar of Fire left by Child in Sydney. At 05:49 EDT, Wonder Woman, Troia, and Wonder Girl helped save civilians caught in the reversed gravity while Wizard attempted to neutralize the Pillar of Fire in Manhattan. At 17:51 NST, Blue Devil and Etrigan dealt with the Pillar of Fire and demons in Taipei. Black Lightning hailed Superman's comm and requested his presence in Agra. At some point after 15:22 IST, Lightning, Superman, Nightwing, and Ambassador Garth of Atlantis dealt with the Pillar of Fire, Once thing settled, Superman suggested a true Justice League reserve system to help deal with future global disasters to avoid temporarily allying with villains like Wizard in the future. After 10:00 UTC, Ice and Isis arrived at the North Pole to deal with the Pillar of Fire.

Near midnight, Zatanna, Dr. Fate, the Sentinels of Magic, and Klarion made one last stand against Child at the ruins of the Tower of Fate. Ultimately, the Lords of Order and Chaos accepting a proposal from Vandal Savage and Thirteen dispersing Child's anchor Flaw with bad luck magic saved the world. On May 15th, Black Canary had a therapy session with Zatara in the Watchtower's garden about the past 10 years he spent as Dr. Fate. He eventually broke down and cried. On June 1st, the League obliged a request to use the Watchtower to perform a deep scan of Xebel and discovered a vast subterranean pocket ocean beneath its ocean floor. They forwarded the results to King Orin. On June 2nd, Miss Martian's intervention for Beast Boy failed and as a last resort, she cited the League's annual mandatory mental health check. On July 3rd, after the Lords of Order took back their crown and destroyed the Arion clone and Mera was declared the new king of Atlantis, Orin decided to rejoin the Justice League.

Kaldur'ahm agreed to relinquish the mantle of Aquaman but Orin pointed out the League had four Green Lanterns and two Flashes so it could embrace two Aquamen. He also asked La'gaan to join the League as its third Aquaman. La'gaan was shocked but both Orin and Kadlur'ahm agreed it was time. On July 4th, Black Canary spoke to Kaldur'ahm at the memorial for the fallen inside the Watchtower. Citing the anniversary of the Team's formation, he took responsibility for the deaths of his teammates over the years. On August 26th, 20:16 UTC, a small group for the Justice League arrived at New Genesis for summit involving the Justice League, New Gods, and Green Lantern Corps. Rocket and the first Flash Jay Garrick represented the League and Forager accompanied them in an advisory capacity. It was Flash's first mission as a Leaguer. The ideal goal was for a treaty to be signed by all three groups.

Superman and Black Lightning met at the Watchtower and discussed possible recruits for their Justice League reserve system. The candidates included Giovanni Zatara, Red Arrow, Garth, Troia, Mary Bromfield, Clayface, Karen Beecher, Mal Duncan, Jim Harper, Dubbilex, Adam Strange, Alanna, Isis, B'arzz O'oomm, Asami Koizumi, Tye Longshadow, Mera Nerus, Delphis, Wyynde, Khalid Nassour, Jason Blood, Madame Xanadu, Peacemaker, Etrigan, and Phantom Stranger. Superman brought up Russia's Rocket Red Brigade and whatever China had for any real planetary crisis. He also revealed Orin and Diana indicated that Atlantis and Themyscira were potential untapped resources as well as Geranium City. He then promised creating a cooperative plan of action with Mars and maybe Thanagar. He had hope for Rocket to successfully negotiate a treaty with New Genesis and Oa. He was not sure about Geo-Force and his Infinitors and if they would abide by the League standards considering the trust they worked so hard to build.

On August 27th, the New Gods officially welcomed the Justice League to the summit. Rocket brought up how undeniable it was that Darkseid's agents were infiltrating and exploiting Earth. Vykin and Orion refused to help battle Apokoliptian forces due to a standing truce between New Genesis and Apokolips that came at a high cost. Vykin suggested the League use the Green Lantern Corps as a neutral mediator but was immediately met with skepticism by Orion. Rocket then brought up how Earth was bleeding meta-humans and the League needed both groups' help in shutting down off world trafficking. Tomar-Re noted her petition but cited the Corps had an entire galaxy to police. After a skirmish between Metron and Razer, Flash's 102nd birthday was celebrated. On August 28th, talks resumed. Rocket informed Orion that the League had not given any serious consideration to their request to turn over Cyborg and Halo for their own protection. She stated it was a nonstarter. She stated Halo would be safeguarded by her family.

To Vykin's surprise, Orion withdrew the request. Bear arrived and disrupted talks to offer his condolences for Superboy. Metron further disrupted the summit to engage everyone's aid in stopping Lor-Zod from activating the Phantom Zone Projector to free his parents, Dru-Zod and Ursa Zod, and their army of Kryptonians. On August 30th, Kilowog informed Flash that in principal, the treaty between the three groups could be considered signed. Flash was relieved and believed their first order of business was finding Lor-Zod and his accomplice, the rogue Martian Ma'alefa'ak. By September 5th, news of the League's "Space Treaty" was reported by the Daily Planet. Around the same time, Black Lightning spoke at a dedication ceremony for the construction of a new Hall of Justice on Justice Island near the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Probationary Green Lantern Forager delivered the Kaizer-Thrall to the Watchtower.

On September 13th, 17:38 EDT, Miss Martian zetaed to the Watchtower at Black Lightning's request. She established mental contact with the Kaizer-Thrall and learned he was Danny Chase, a teenager from Earth and victim of meta-human trafficking. Lightning pledged they would do everything in their power to help him. Prince J'emm J'axx of M'arzz called the Watchtower and shared his belief that Superboy might still be alive. Superman later zetaed there then the Watchtower was moved above the Zeta-Shield and both J'axx and Phantom Girl zetaed to them from M'arzz. Phantom Girl briefed everyone present about how she saved Superboy but due to the conditions, they were both phased to the Phantom Zone where he came under the sway of General Dru-Zod. Orion later zetaed to the Watchtower to help them rescue Superboy with his Mother Box. He suggested they open a Boom Tube to the Phantom Zone on Trombus, an uninhabited planet under a red sun, as a precaution.

The operation was disrupted by Lor-Zod and Ma'alefa'ak. The latter took control of Kaizer-Thrall and used it to neutralize everyone while Dru-Zod, Ursa, Conner Kent, and Faora Hu-Ul boomed to Trombus. On September 14th, a battle broke out between Zod's forces and a group composed of the surviving original members of the Team, the squad of Legion of Super-Heroes members, Kid Flash, and Superman. In the aftermath, all were sent to the Phantom Zone except Lor-Zod who was soon dispatched by Metron's machinations and Ursa Zod, now Emerald Empress who fled into space. The two Flashes, Blue Beetle, Shazam, Red Tornado, Black Canary, and Wonder Girl arrived late and were naturally surprised to see Superboy alive. The Legionnaires were bereft they were right back where they started. Unbeknownst to them, the Light secured all but one of the banished Kryptonians in stasis aboard Warworld while the one Kryptonian Kara Zor-El and Ma'alefa'ak were turned over to Apokolips.

On September 16th, before Conner Kent and M'gann M'orzz's wedding ceremony started in Happy Harbor, Black Canary spoke to other members of the League present and proposed the establishment of a mental health sanctuary for the League and any of their allies. Lightning later took part in a conversation about a monitored release of the Phantom Zone prisoners on Trombus done jointly between the Justice League, New Genesis, and Green Lantern Corps per their treaty. On November 9th, 21:07 EST, Lightning took part in a conference call with King Brion Markov. Markov shared his concern about Queen Perdita Vladek's kidnapping and Count Vertigo's prison escape but no one from the League, Team, or Outsiders were allowed in Markovian sovereign territory. Instead, the Infinitors would rescue her. After the meeting, Cyborg expressed his desire to help rescue Vladek but Lightning reminded him he was a Leaguer now and any photo of him in Markovia could spark an international incident so it was best to leave it to the Team.

On November 12, 12:00 EST, Lex Luthor told Otis and Mercy about Miss Martian sparing Metallo's life and called it a class move but he suddenly vanished from their sight. They searched for him in the office, unaware he was still present but in Rocket's force-bubble which was concealed by Zatanna's glamour spell. Luthor noted Rocket, Zatanna, Cyborg, and the second and third Aquaman were present. Rocket asked how he would prove it. Zatanna asked who would believe him. Aquaman (Kaldurah'm) got to the point and clearly stated Queen Perdita Vladek was part of their family and was now off-limits to the machinations of the Light and its members. Luthor scoffed at the notion of them trying to intimidate him. He brought up how he faced down Superman. Aquaman simply responded with a "yes" and Zatanna returned him to his previous place. Otis tried to get his attention in vain. Luthor was intimidated.
