Dubbilex is the creation of Project Cadmus and is a one-of-a-kind Genomorph whereas the others are mass produced. He was originally designated as a G-Goblin and programmed with the power of telekinesis. Although some might mistake him as a demon, he is secretly a very powerful telepath and is able to read the minds of a dozen people at once then implant their minds with illusions. Dubbilex serves on Cadmus' security team alongside his best friend, the Guardian. He also became infamous for lurking about and sneaking up on others such as Dr. Desmond.
However, he resented his race's lifelong servitude and formulated a plan to liberate them. Dubbilex secretly set a fire to Cadmus' street level offices to instigate a superhero-led investigation. Robin, Aqualad, and Kid Flash responded. With his plan in action, Dubbilex goaded the trio to find Project Kr on Sub Level 52, awoke them when they were captured, and guided Superboy telepathically. When Superboy willingly chose freedom, Dubbilex freed Guardian from G-Gnome influence but Dr. Desmond arrived and transformed into Blockbuster. In the aftermath, Guardian was promoted to chief officer, implying that Dubbilex may have been made acting head of security.
Dubbilex kept his telepathic powers a secret in light of the changes initiated by Guardian. He felt the Justice League's liberation of the Genomorphs only transitioned them from weapons to menial labor. One by one, Dubbilex whisked a Genomorph to a secret city under Sub Level 52, Genomorph City. Until society was more open and accepting, the Genomorphs could be free and live in this city. After observing the battle between Superboy and Match, Dubbilex sabotaged the security camera system and moved Match to Genomorph City where he could be kept docile and rehabilitated by three G-Gnomes. Dubbilex then revealed the city to Superboy and Wolf. Superboy inadvertently carried a tracer that led Guardian to the city. On January 1st, Dubbilex lay neutralized while the Light pillaged Project Cadmus.
