Real Identity: Jason Peter "Jay" Garrick

In the 1930's, Jay Garrick tried his luck as a college football player. It didn't go so well. Garrick later became a research assistant in Keystone City. By accident, he inhaled hyper-charged atoms from a radioactive liquid and got super speed. As the Flash, he joined the Justice Society of America. His exploits were recorded in comic books.
After the McCarthy hearings forced the JSA into retirement, Garrick was seen attending a boxing match starring friend and team mate, Wildcat. However, he left early and missed a confrontation between Captain Cold and the new Flash.
