Samuel Bradley earned the nickname "Slam" while he grew up in Cleveland, where he knocked out the local bully with one punch. Slam often kicks down doors first and asks questions later. Afterwards, he treats himself to a drink and a smoke.
Bradley eventually became part of the Gotham City Police Department and worked alongside fellow detective, John Jones. Besides James Gordon, Bradley believes Jones was the only honest, clean cop in the depeartment and has respect for him despite his unusual "hunches."
