Real Identity: Al Pratt

Al Pratt was just another guy until the day he met former boxing champ, Joe Morgan. Morgan took Pratt under his tutelage and put him through a year long training regime. Morgan was under the impression that Pratt wanted to be a featherweight boxing champion but Pratt wanted to do good.
Pratt became the masked hero, the Atom and was soon renowned for his punch. In 1948, Atom was exposed to radiation by the evil scientist, Cyclotron. Instead of suffering ill effects, Atom gained atomic strength and agility. He then joined the Justice Society of America.
Following the McCarthy congressional hearings and an ultimatum issued by the President of the United States, Atom and the rest of the JSA went into early retirement rather than reveal their secret identities. Atom wasn't so lucky. He was rounded up by the government agency, Argent and relocated to a detention cell deep below the California desert.
