Barbara Gordon was fed a false clue from Joker pretending to be Batman that the villain was targeting the Chemical vault at S.T.A.R. Labs Gotham so he could make enough Joker toxin for all of city. Wonder Woman and Batgirl went to investigate. Batgirl reported the vault was secure but Wonder Woman wanted to talk to her about Harleen Quinzel. Batgirl forgave her for snapping earlier about not caring about her when Joker was on the loose. Wonder Woman told her she cared about her and had to tell her something. Batgirl told her she could tell her anything. Wonder Woman blurted out it was in her best interest to discontinue her friendship with Quinzel. Batgirl was taken aback and asked for a little more to go on since she was her only real friend before she met everyone at Metropolis High School. Wonder Woman admitted she promised to keep it secret but their friendship was more important than honor. Harley Quinn and the Joker stole the Fractal Obliterator and walked to the exit.

Before she could tell Batgirl that Quinzel was Harley Quinn, Harley Quinn appeared on the upper level and wished them a happy Halloween. She plopped down on the rail and remarked they missed them. Batgirl questioned why she spoke in a plural sense. The Joker stepped out and remarked they were the "playmates" Harley told him all about. Batgirl was excited at first then channeled Batman. Joker admitted he didn't speak "Bat" even after all this time. Wonder Woman had enough and told him to prepare for battle. He sat on the rail back-to-back with Harley and told them he got anxious around new people and liked to have an out prepared in case a conversation hit an awkward low. He presented a remote control decorated in a clown motif. The doors of a room slid open and revealed a scientist with her mouth taped shut and bound in a device. She tried to tell them something. Joker mused goodbyes were hard and imitated Batman. Batgirl realized Joker was the one who called her emergency line. He quipped he could speak "Bat" after all. Harley marveled at his talent and they exited the building.

Batgirl checked the scientist's name badge and learned she was Dr. Francine Langstrom. Wonder Woman asked if she knew her. Batgirl noted not personally but knew she once tested her own experimental bat-gland serum on herself and mutated into She-Bat. The tape was removed from Langstrom's mouth. She yelled it was a trap but it was too late. Langstrom transformed into She-Bat. Wonder Woman remarked, "Great Hera." Batgirl realized they walked right into Joker's trap. Wonder Woman agreed, as she tried to hold down She-Bat by the legs, and suggested their efforts were better spent looking for an antidote. She-Bat lunged at Wonder Woman. Batgirl opened a storage closet but there were rows lined with different serums. Batgirl found the antidote just as Wonder Woman secured She-Bat in the Lasso of Truth. The Joker blimp arrived and pelted the room with high intensity sonar. She-Bat broke free and flew up to the blimp.

Batgirl got texts from the team and learned they were tricked into releasing an evil ghost and a giant zombie. To make matters worse, Robin texted her back and confirmed Batman was out of town but never called her. Batgirl lamented the worst part was they didn't know what the Joker planned to do with all the monsters. She became worried about Quinzel. Wonder Woman told her Quinzel was Harley Quinn. Batgirl teared up and refused to believe it. She fired her grapnel gun and left the lab.
