Barbara Gordon refused to give up and got an idea on how to get Diana Prince to loosen up and have fun. The girls went to the Metropolis Pier's carnival. They played Skee-Ball, ate pizza, rode a merry-go-round, rode a roller coaster, danced to a live musician, and piled into a photo booth for many pictures. To cap the night, they went to an ice cream parlor named Sweet Justice right across from the pier.
After the girls reunited to rescue Wonder Woman from her mother, they made landfall but sighted Demo-Bots approaching the Metropolis Pier. They met Lena Luthor, the true mastermind behind several businesses being destroyed. She told them her plan was to trap ever teenager in the VR world of Lexcorp's VR Glasses then children would rule the city. They found it rather dumb. They declared their friendship would never be destroyed. The robots started trashing the pier and were too large in number for the six heroes to stop. Wonder Woman suggested they take out the general to defeat the army and they came up with a plan to short out the mainframe of the warsuit used by Lena Luthor. Supergirl got an idea to use a guitar and amp to short out Luthor's warsuit. Bumblebee connected the motherboard and cable to the suit's CPU while Batgirl rigged the amp to go past its maximum of 10. Zatanna, Wonder Woman, and Supergirl distracted Luthor while Bumblebee flew into the suit and Green Lantern got Batgirl past the Demo-Bots in a bumper car construct. With the amp hooked up, Batgirl turned it to 11 and threw the guitar to Supergirl.
The cable was short so Bumblebee used herself as a conduit and took the jolt to power the amp. The suit went offline and fell onto the pier. The Demo-Bots all went offline. The Lexcorp VR Glasses went offline, too, and teenagers all over Metropolis abandoned them and went to watch movies at home. Lena Luthor cried no fair. Lex Luthor arrived with their parents. She was tossed into the backseat of the family car where she threw a tantrum. Lex and Lena Luthor exchanged raspberries. Lex Luthor watched silently as the crowds cheered on the Super Hero Girls then walked away. Lexcorp Construction Services went to work rebuiling all the destroyed properties. Three months later, Sweet Justice held their grand re-opening.
After a trip to Metropolis Plaza failed on account to Steve Trevor being there, the girls took Diana Prince to the pier to try to get her mind off him. However, he was in the rollercoaster, too. They yanked Prince out and somehow he was everywhere like across the street, in the subway station, in a car. Prince had slipped into a delirious state. Zee Zatara chose to debut her solo act at the Metropolis Pier and she took Karen Beecher along as her unwitting assistant. Zatara gave her a bullhorn and gestured her to start. Beecher took out her script and read off it but couldn't pronounce "prestidigitation." To Zatara's surprise, the crowd gathered around a street magician named Ace of Spades and paid her no attention. She was not impressed and saw through his coin trick as a combination of switching hands and using a double-headed coin. To her dismay, he did a detachable thumb trick. Next, he had a woman pick a card from deck. He tore off his shirt to reveal an ace of spade tattoo on his chest. It was the card she drew. Another woman fainted.
Zatara had enough and called him a fraud then knocked his deck to the ground. A boy thought he turned all his cards into the ace of spade rather than cheating. She performed her magic, turning a man's flower prints from his aloha shirt into an actual bouquet of flowers. A bald man grew luscious blonde hair. Confetti turned into butterflies. A man in the crowd called it fake and the crowd dispersed. A man loved Ace's magic because he found it raw and real. Zatara became enraged and cast a spell at Ace. When he tried his card trick again, it failed because there was a monster's face on his chest instead of an ace. Zatara and Beecher went to get ice cream. Gremlins teleported out of Ace's chest because of the spell. They chased children from the bumper cars, a bouncy castle, and the carousel. Beecher and Zatara were unaware of the developing situation and the latter sulked. A Gremlin landed on their ice cream. Zatara didn't know what to do until Beecher talked some sense into her and they changed into their hero guises. One landed on Zatanna's head. She was grossed out and tossed it.
Two gremlins chased after a mother and her child in bumper cars. Zatanna flew off on a horse from the carousel and blasted the cars. Bumblebee chaster after gremlins into the claw crane. They tried to grab her with the claw. Zatanna saved the mother and child at the end of the pier but was knocked off her horse into the arcade. She attempted to play the claw crane but missed. Zatanna told her to just fly out. Bumblebee told her to teleport her out. Zatanna realized she should have done that and did. It was chaos outside. The rollercoaster crashed. A Ferris Wheel rolled away. Zatanna didn't know what to do. Bumblebee realized the gremlins weren't evil and were just trying to have fun. Zatanna got an idea to perform her show for them. Beecher read her script again and was finally able to say "prestidigitation." The gremlins were intrigued and gathered for the show. Zatanna conjured constructs of a deck of cards and turned the ace of hearts purple.
Beecher's dress turned into the same color. Then turquoise and red. She levitated Beecher through a ring and she returned to normal. She conjured a basket and Beecher dropped in. Zatanna held out her hat and Beecher dropped out of it back onto the stage. She performed the disappearing act then asked if anyone in the audience wanted to try. The gremlins piled into the cabinet. Zatanna cast a spell the teleported them back to their home dimension. Danvers tried to win a chicken arcade game but Harleen Quinzel kept popping up and asking annoying questions which led to a game over. Danvers angrily ripped out the joystick. The last egg from Home Ec rolled into Metropolis Pier. It just so happened to stop in front of Tatsu Yamashiro. She declared victory. Carol Ferris jumped from an sign overhead and landed on top of her then pulled her left leg back. The egg was gone. It landed on top of the strength tester. Selina Kyle bounced off Kara Danvers' head and made her way to the egg.
Danvers grabbed the mallet and smashed the bell, stunning Kyle and launching the egg. It landed in the bumper car manned by Jimmy Olsen. The pairs chased after Olsen until Danvers and Quinzel rear ended him. Olsen landed in a pool of stuffed animals. They chased the egg around the pier. It flew through a girl's ring toss, sailed between Jordan's hands, hit a powder doughnut, and landed in Garth Bernstein's hands. The others rushed him. In the confusion, the egg rolled away. Pamela Isley picked it up and left. Casey Krinsky stole the powers of the Super Hero Girls and went on a rampage. She noticed Zee Zatara, trapped in Krinsky's base form, and chased her into the Pier. Krinksy used Bumblebee's visor and locked onto her then fired several missile constructs. Nearly all the stands were blown up. Zatara climbed out of the debris and ran into the House of Mirrors. Krinsky shrank and flew in after her then went to normal size. Krinsky was reduced to punching mirrors while Zatara ran around.
Annoyed with the smoke and mirrors, Krinsky goaded her to come out and fight because she was tired of seeing her face. She stopped and corrected it was now Zatara's. Zatara keyed on that and mocked her, asking if she didn't like what she saw. Krinsky exclaimed no one did. She created a mallet construct. Zatara states she and her friends liked her at first but her evil plot messed up a chance at friendship and acceptance. Krinsky began to shed her diamond skin and lost her focus. She casted and was reduced to her normal form. Zatanna offered a fresh start but Krinsky rejected her. She promised she would reveal their secret identities to the city then ran off. The other Super Hero Girls arrived and tried to console Zatanna. At the height of the Killer Moth incident, many Moth-Monsters flew over the Metropolis Pier. The girls sat at a table on the pier. They stood up. Lois Lane was at another table watching them like a hawk. They tried to look innocent. A monster flew into them. In the chaos, they changed into their alter-egos and defeated the monsters. Batgirl ate a burrito and threw the wrapper away. Lane grabbed it and noted it was from Burrito Bucket.
As Catwoman drove through the Metropolis Pier in a stolen car, Harley Quinn snatched a cotton candy out of a man's hands. Prince passed and Beecher handed him some money and apologized. He was naturally shocked. Catwoman stated she was still better a driver. Livewire told her she should have said "Un-fur-tunately for her, I'm a better driver!" Catwoman barked at her to stop being a distraction. Livewire quipped she had such a cat-titude. They drove up a surf board display, using it like a ramp, and headed onto the roller coaster tracks. Romero declared he was too old for it and told Prince to pull over. She rode up the surf board and bounced off a bouncy castle onto the tracks. Catwoman drove off the top of the track onto a ferry boat. Prince landed into the ocean. Bernstein generated a water hand and deposited them onto dry land.
Steve the Griffin flew to the Metropolis Pier and attacked stuffed animals at a prize booth. Wonder Woman ordered him not to do it. It was too late and he smashed the booth to pieces. He was annoyed it wasn't a real animal and snatched a caught marlin that Jimmy Olsen was trying to take a picture of. Wonder Woman apologized and lied she had no idea how he got loose. Steve spit out the marlin's skeleton. Wonder Woman threw the Lasso of Truth and snagged Steve's neck. Steve continued to screech and resist. She ordered him down and told the people he was usually so sweet. She saw some girls and a boy having fun with their pet dogs and started to see the truth but was disrupted by a disturbance in the city. The three headed Hydra was fully grown and wreaking havoc. Wonder Woman dragged Steve along. A Kraken broke free from a cage and surfaced at Metropolis Pier on a Friday morning. As part of Zee Zatara's birthday, the girls took her to the Metropolis Pier's amusement park. Beecher handed her four balloons, Danvers destroyed the strength test and got her all the big stuffed animals, and Prince secured her a car on the roller coaster ride by threatening a little girl who cut in line.
On the Metropolis Pier, Prince and Hippolyta posed for a street artist as part of the former's planned city tour. Instead, he drew Hippolyta hugging Danvers while Prince stood behind a streetlight. Hippolyta cheered on Danvers as she ate burgers. Green flames left Prince and were fed on by goddess Lyssa, who was on the carousel. Giovanni Zatara and June Moone's date ended at the Metropolis Pier. While they looked out at the bay, Zee Zatara hid behind a cart and cast a wind spell to trip her father up and get him closer to Moone for a kiss. She pushed him away but he was so unbalanced, he went over the rails into the water. She heard the splash and looked in horror at her mistake. Zee Zatara cringed and hid. Aqualad took Aquaman to the Metropolis Pier and used his fake crime alert detection system, the TroubAlert, then Kara Danvers, dressed as his made up arch nemesis Dr. MephiSocrates, made her presence known with an evil laugh. She dashed down from the top of a tent and pretended to fight with Aqualad while Aquaman took it all in.
Aqualad pretended to take a fall on his last legs and before MephiSocrates could deliver the finishing blow with her trident, Aqualad proclaimed he knew her one weakness. She was confused and didn't know what he was talking about. He tossed a bucket full of mop water on her. She groaned and pretended to faint. Aquaman congratulated Aqualad on doing Atlantis proud and making him proud. He grabbed MephiSocrates and bid him goodbye. Aqualad inquired what was going on. Aquaman pointed out she assaulted an Atlantean and thanks to Aqualad's heroics, she was going to face an Atlantean tribunal for a dose of rash, harsh deeply-biased Atlantean justice. Danvers became concerned and asked Aqualad if there was anything he wanted to tell Aquaman. He didn't Aquaman blinked and gave Aqualad a thumb's up. Danvers coldly started at Aqualad. Aquaman declared she would spend the next century in an Atlantean jail. Danvers heard enough and tossed Aquaman into the bay. Aqualad became concerned and told her she shouldn't have done that. She quipped he should have told the truth about the lies he spun in his letters about his supposed accomplishments as a student and a hero.
Aqualad clarified throwing him into water makes him strong. Aquaman dashed back onto the pier at super speed and knocked Danvers into a pile of stuffed animals. He was now in his supersuit. She charged at him in her Supergirl suit and decked him with an uppercut, stating getting ticked off made her strong. Aquaman laughed and got her with a left hook. She countered with a flying kick. He countered with a gut punch. Aqualad couldn't take it anymore and yelled at them to stop. They froze mid-punch. He confessed he lied to Aquaman about everything because he wanted to be his sidekick so bad. Supergirl patted his head and floated away. Aquaman sighed and realized they needed to have a heart-to-heart. Supergirl knew that was her cue to leave but complimented Aquaman on his left hook. He commended her chops as well. After she left, Aquaman revealed he knew Aqualad would be his sidekick one day ever since they first met. Aqualad was surprised. Aquaman clarified at least the Garth he met that day, the real one, and poked his chest.
Aqualad confessed he didn't even know whole the real Garth was yet. Aquaman pointed out his friends did since they went to so far to help him out with the ruse and that spoke more volumes to him that being a homecoming king. He believed the rest of who he was would come out eventually and revealed he didn't have his pecs until he turned 10 and asked how old he was. Aqualad replied he was 15. Aquaman was taken aback and summarized his point was everyone reaches their potential at any age. He revealed he just became a Level 6 Realm King in the online game "Pilgrimage of Elves" until some genius player named MAMX-Hunk knocked him down to Court Jester. Aqualad realized he was SharkGut41. Aquaman chuckled upon realizing Aqualad was MAMX-Hunk and bowed to him. He offered to buy him dinner and he would tell him how to defeat the Ice Ogre. Aqualad assured him it was easy, it was all about the heat. Aquaman chuckled and sang the coral reef song the girls made up for Aqualad. He joined in and they sang it together.
Barbara Gordon, Diana Prince, and Kara Danvers went to the arcade on the pier. Prince never made it inside and became fascinated with an unplugged fortune teller machine. She asked it if her path was righteous. It asked her to put in money. She thought it meant an offering and complied. She was amazed by the fortune and wanted to know more. Gordon introduced Danvers to the Hit Em All game that she mastered. Danvers was skeptical and thought it looked easy. Gordon assured her it wasn't and took months of practice. A carney convinced Danvers with the allure of prizes to try the basketball game. Danvers fell for it and wasted her money, never making a basket. Gordon, meanwhile, won a giant stuffed bear and lot's and lot's of tickets. Danvers lost her temper and launched the basketball at super speed. It bounced off a light fixture, pipes, and one of the gophers in the Hit Em All before exiting through the ceiling. It eventually returned from space and impacted back in the arcade. The carney wearily rose out of a hole in the floor. Danvers won a key chain. Gordon played along and admitted she won. Danvers pulled Prince away from the fortune teller machine.
Katana chased after Harley Quinn to the Metropolis Pier to get her Soultaker sword back. Harley leaped over a hot dog cart and stabbed a dog for herself. Katana slid under the cart. The vendor was distracted by them and squirted ketchup on his young client's head. Katana took a squeaky doll and threw it at Harley's head followed by more. Katana warned her she didn't understand what she held and demanded it back. Harley implored her to come and get it. Katana picked out a balloon sword and attacked. Harley dodged her thrusts then realized she had the real one and poked the balloon then ran off. Katana navigated through a crowd of civilians while Harley tried the whack-a-mole arcade. She eventually hacked all the heads off. Katana pursued her on the merry-go-round and cup rides. Katana noticed a photo booth in use and saw Harley had put a hat, glasses, and fake mustache on her sword first, then wore them herself. She crumpled the photos in anger. Katana caught up to her again but Harley attacked with the sword.
They found themselves on the roller coaster tracks trying to outrun the ride. They got on and resumed fighting. Katana swiped the mallet from a teenager trying to win the strength test as they turned a curve. Harley admired the mallet and snatched it. The ride ended soon after. She liked the balance, grip, and lack of having to worrying about cutting herself. She tossed the Soultaker back to Katana and casually walked away. Katana was dumbfounded. Barbara Gordon was eating cotton candy at the Metropolis Pier when she noticed a cute bat doll as the prize of a punching bag challenge. She just had to score 500 points from hitting the bag, visually based on the Joker, and the doll was hers. Gordon declared the doll's name was Count Nocturnus Batticus Harold VI. She put in a coin and punched the bag. It only got her one point. She tried again and only got another point. Kara Danvers came by on her skateboard and greeted her. She asked if she could help. Gordon played it cool and declined. Danvers obliged her and headed to the corn dog stand.
Gordon backed off and charged into the bag. She was at 4 points. Gordon regained her bearings then got out a boxing glove gun. The force of the gun was so strong, she was propelled backwards into a trash can. Irritated with the bag's programmed taunt, she rushed over and unleashed a flurry of punches, kicks, and knees until she was out of breath. She refused to leave. Danvers came back over to check on Gordon's progress. Gordon asked to borrow her skateboard. She went to the top of the roller coaster and rode the tracks then veered off intent on hitting the bag. She missed and ended up in the harbor. She climbed out. Danvers called an audible and they joined forces. Gordon perched atop one of her hands and was thrown into the bag. The booth was smashed to pieces but Gordon scored 500 points at last. Danvers exclaimed that was awesome. Gordon realized the doll was on top of her head. They celebrated their victory. A fire broke out but Supergirl neutralized it with freeze breath by the time Batgirl showed up.
After a lot of training, the girls decided to take a break by setting Diana Prince up on a date with Steve Trevor at the Metropolis Pier. Prince was nervous and wanted them to stay but they each departed. Danvers picked up Tatsu Yamashiro so she woldn't start training again. Gordon went off to try a new VR Batmobile game. Trevor was one of the many victims of Cheetah and the Mask of Dolos. Prince ate her spaghetti alone and found Gordon some time later. She was shocked Trevor ghosted Prince. Gordon had to explain it had nothing to do with ghosts then noted Trevor was in the doghouse. Prince didn't get that figure of speech either. After more went missing, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern searched the pier for Giovanni Zatara and Steve Trevor. Wonder Woman got a call from Katana to meet up at the casino where Zatanna was. Once Steve Trevor was restored to normal, he ran off to the pier for his date.
