Jeremiah Danvers was happy to take Kara with him to work on Kord Industries' "Bring Your Kid to Work" day. He began to test the evaporation rate of his polybutylene wall coating. He sprayed part of his wall with Test Coating v14.5 then got out a scanner. She realized she was literally watching paint dry. He clarified she was watching him watch paint dry. She suggested using a heat gun. He told her that would defeat the whole purpose of the test and promised sometimes, with patience comes progress. He was elated to see he was at 0.001 percent evaporation. She crushed the heat gun in anger but heard a crash and sneaked off to investigate. He was completely unaware of her absence for the whole day. After changing to Supergirl, she entered Ted Kord's office and found him in a blue suit trapped in the wall. He was surprised she knew who he was. She pointed out his name was on the building, the door, and all his accolades on display. He couldn't deny that and admitted he was Blue Beetle. She was lost.
Kord announced he was going to be a superhero like her but with his Beetle Tech. He demonstrated the jet boosters but he only flew into another wall. She pulled him out and addressed his as "Blue Beagle." He corrected her. She realized he meant the bug and thought that was kinda lame but emphasized he wasn't quite ready to be a superhero. Kord contended he didn't need to be ready and cited the title of his best-selling memoir, "Success is only one percent preparation and 2000 percent Activation." Supergirl didn't think that made sense. He added she was responsible for the Blue Beetle in the first place when she saved his life, inspiring him to join the fight to eradicate evil. He revealed a shrine dedicated to that time she saved him from Bizarro Supergirl. The Beetle Tech mistook his words for a command to activate Eradication Mode and produced blasters from his gauntlets and back. He tried to order it to abort but the statue of children were obliterated as was a head of the dog held in his statue's arms.
Kord declared whatever mark Blue Beetle made on the world, it would have Supergirl to thank for it. He activated his jet boosters and tried to leave but couldn't get past the glass skylight so he flew through the ceiling and left a big hole behind. Jeremish Danvers was ecstatic one he reached 100 percent evaporation. She happened to sneak back in from the ceiling. He thought it was quite the ride and was happy they did it together. He couldn't wait to write up his report to Ted Kord and admitted none of it would have been possible without his support. He mused he was lucky Kord was patient enough to give him a second chance. He was unaware she was having her own issues not being patient enough with training Kord on how to be a superhero and left to look for him. She went to Kord's office in search of him but saw the news on his HDTV sets and rushed off. However, she couldn't get past his glass skylight either for some reason and simply made a new hole in the ceiling.
