Gold Kryptonite is a variant with the ability to temporarily take away a Kryptonian's super powers. Winslow Schott purchased a chunk from Very Deadly Space Rocks & More in anticipation of fighting Supergirl again. When she charged him, he had his Maximum Assault Mech X fire a rocket fist holding the Gold Kryptonite. Supergirl went sailing, took Bumblebee along with her, and they busted through a billboard for toothpaste across town. Bumblebee noticed an ominous glow from the mech's fist and found the Gold Kryptonite chunk inside. Supergirl tried to throw it into space but instead weakly flung it a few inches into a puddle. She noticed her muscles started to sag. Bumblebee's tech finished its analysis and identified the Gold Kryptonite. Supergirl couldn't believe that was a thing. Bumblebee learned it temporarily stripped away her super powers. Supergirl was aghast and asked how long they would be then became concerned she would be a lame, powerless "regular old girl." Bumblebee took offense. Supergirl added she was cool. In an hour or so, her powers returned.
