The Fractal Obliterator is a powerful explosive developed by S.T.A.R. Labs in Gotham City. The Joker stole it to blow up Gotham so that no one would ever surpass him in presenting the scariest Halloween to the city. He affixed the Fractal Obliterator onto the Big Pumpkin and when it dropped to Gotham Square, the Obliterator would be triggered. Harley Quinn was surprised he was going to destroy the city. He revealed she was and presented the plunger. She gave him an awkward thumbs up. Joker went back up into his blimp and warned Harley she would have ten seconds once the Pumpkin touched its base. Batgirl, tied up to a pipe, implored her not to do it and the Joker was just using her. Harley asked her what she knew about it. Batgirl revealed her secret identity to the shocked Harley and told her that even after everything she still loved her. Harley told her she loved her, too, but she pushed the plunger down and returned to the blimp.
Batgirl broke free and threw a Batarang at the Obliterator in hopes of making a one-in-a-million shot of hitting the external protocol switch. Batgirl realized she missed the switch upon seeing the batarang on the Big Pumpkin. She checked the underside of the plunger and realized Harley flipped the disarm switch on the sly which prevented the pumpkin from touching its base and setting off the Obliterator. Her hope in Harley was renewed. S.T.A.R. Labs technicians in hazmat suits secured the Fractal Obliterator in a safe and carried it off to the transport.
