Green Lantern Jessica Cruz has an alien power ring that creates anything she can imagine. Cruz is against violence and looks for other ways to defeat her opponents. She is strong willed, tells it like it is, cares about the environment, and stands up for the little guys. Jessica Cruz was chosen by the Green Lantern Corps, a group akin to space cops who patrol an assigned sector. She became a cadet but had her reservations that the ring would only lead to violence and destruction. Barbara Gordon overheard Jessica Cruz trying to give a green ring back to another student named Hal Jordan. She stated she didn't agree with the Lantern Corps' methods and found them extreme. Jordan countered he didn't make the rules. They noticed Gordon was staring at them. She quickly turned around and pretended to be opening her locker. Jordan refused to take the ring and told Cruz she was chosen.

During lunch, Gordon sat alone and came up with a scheme to figure who was a super, by getting them all in detention with her. She threw spaghetti right into Kara Danvers' face. Danvers thought it was Karen Beecher and threw her burger at Beecher's head. Jessica Cruz came to her rescue and deflected the second burger with a tray. It instead landed on Zee Zatara's head. Upset about her hair, Zatara threw a milk carton at Cruz's head. Gordon jumped onto the cheerleader table and declared a food fight. The entire student body got into act. Mr. Chapin happened to be passing by the cafeteria. After being hit in the left eye, he ended the food fight. The students pointed at Gordon, Beecher, Danvers, Cruz, and Zatara who were all in a dog pile. Chapin took the five to detention. Danvers and Zatara bickered. Cruz wasn't interested in another fight. Chapin returned with a truant officer who found a teenage girl cutting class. After they left, the girls realized she was Wonder Woman.

Danvers thought she was a dumb cosplay girl. Wonder Woman declared she was Diana, Princess of the Amazons and she alone survived the 21 tests of the tournament of Athena and Aphrodite. Danvers and Wonder Woman got into a fight. To everyone's shock, Danvers punched Wonder Woman through several walls but she tackled Danvers like nothing happened. Cruz cast a spring construct between them and yelled fighting was never the answer. They realized Mr. Chapin was coming back and tried to quickly reassemble the room. Zatara cast a spell speaking backwards and the room was magically restored to what it looked like before detention started. Chapin entered and everyone grinned back at him. He asked if everything was all right. Zatara confirmed. Chapin retrieved his keys and left. Gordon felt validated. She admitted her scheme then announced she was Batgirl. Wonder Woman was elated and hugged her as a sister-in-arms to help carry her burden. Gordon got loose and corrected her, she had five. The others weren't interested.

Cruz refused to fight anyone. Gordon tried to appeal to them with the allure of heroes and villains, fighting crime, hidden lairs, and secret identities. Gordon made them a proposition: give the team idea try and Wonder Woman would train them in how to be a hero and in exchange, they would give Wonder Woman a makeover. Everyone agreed to try it out. Cruz joined on only in support of and to encourage Beecher's brave decision. Gordon hugged them all at once and declared super awesome, super hero-ness was imminent. The girls took Wonder Woman to a department store to work on her alter ego's wardrobe. Cruz disagreed with Danvers' choice of leather and gave Wonder Woman clothes made with organic cotton from Turkey. Zatara cast a spell and dressed Wonder Woman in geek chic, then presented her as Diana Prince, foreign exchange student from Greece. Before Wonder Woman started training them, she took them to a roof and asked them to list their name, rank, and skills. She assessed their weaknesses, too.

Wonder Woman realized Cruz could make any weapon imaginable to beat her enemies into submission. Cruz agreed that was true in theory but she didn't believe in violence. Wonder Woman found that admirable and asked what her codename was. Cruz simply put it was Green Lantern, the name came with the ring. Wonder Woman took the team to a junkyard and set up mannequins as substitutes for citizens in peril. All they had to do was save them in time. Cruz attempted to teach Wonder Woman what a figure of speech was and saw a burrito stand. She gave an example of "I'd kill for a burrito," then implored Wonder Woman to try. She told the vendor she will kill him for a burrito and he should accept her payment or die. He ran way. To cap the night, they went to an ice cream parlor named Sweet Justice. Diana Prince declared they had to celebrate every future victory at Sweet Justice. Demo-Bots entered Sweet Justice and announced it was categorized for immediate destruction and by the order of the city of Metropolis, anyone inside had 30 seconds to comply and vacate before structural removal started.

The girls were unsure of what to do until one of the robots charged towards a little boy wearing Lexcorp VR Glasses who was unaware of what was happening. Wonder Woman shoved it and declared their mission was to protect the innocent. Supergirl went ahead of Wonder Woman's orders and attacked. The Demo-Bot was launched in the air towards the teens. Green Lantern made a trampoline construct but it bounced into a support beam and the roof started to collapse. Bumblebee was too scared to try short circuiting the robots. Wonder Woman snapped two buzz saw arms of one and attacked the rest but she was accidentally hit by Zatanna's beam and crashed into Supergirl. Green Lantern shoveled the rest of the civilians outside. Supergirl argued Cruz could have taken out all the robots with the flick of the ring. While the girls bickered, Batgirl dug a logo out of the rubble and realized the Demo-Bots were Lexcorp property. She immediately suspected Lex Luthor. The girls were skeptical then disbanded.

To make matters worse, Hippolyta, Diana's mother, and the Amazons arrived to take Wonder Woman back to Themyscira because she left without permission. After a late night call from Harleen Quinzel, Gordon remembered best friends were worth fighting for. Gordon suited up and drove around the city going door to door to try to convince everyone to get the team back together but everyone refused. Batgirl got another idea. She triggered an alarm on everyone's phones to get them to listen to her or the alarm would keep ringing. She informed them of Wonder Woman's plight and pleaded with them to help save her because best friends were worth fighting for. Danvers asked her to report what she said because she cut out. The girls clung to the rear of the Amazonian ship. Batgirl slipped onto the ship and tried to get Wonder Woman's attention but the others were quickly caught. They pleaded with Wonder Woman to be their leader again. Green Lantern formed a knight's armor construct around herself and ran around as an Amazon swung a sword at her.

Supergirl reminded Wonder Woman of the time she said she could be the greatest hero the world of man ever knew. Supergirl admitted that wasn't going to be herself, it was going to be Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman smiled and stood up to her mother, declaring Amazon law confirmed she was a woman and free to choose who she wanted to be. The team was reunited and flew back to Metropolis on a carpet construct. Batgirl declared to Wonder Woman that disobeying her mother was lesson 218 and she was officially a teenager (and they were a team again). As they made landfall, they sighted the Demo-Bots approaching the Metropolis Pier. They met Lena Luthor, the true mastermind behind several businesses being destroyed. She told them her plan was to trap ever teenager in the VR world of Lexcorp's VR Glasses then children would rule the city. They found it rather dumb. Batgirl declared their friendship would never be destroyed. The robots were too large in number for the six heroes to stop.

Wonder Woman suggested they take out the general to defeat the army and Batgirl came up with a plan to short out the warsuit by jolting the mainframe. Supergirl got an idea to use a guitar and amp to short out Luthor's warsuit. Bumblebee connected the motherboard and cable to the suit's CPU while Batgirl rigged the amp to go past its maximum of 10. Zatanna, Wonder Woman, and Supergirl distracted Luthor while Bumblebee flew into the suit and Green Lantern got Batgirl past the Demo-Bots in a bumper car construct. With the amp hooked up, Batgirl turned it to 11 and threw the guitar to Supergirl. As soon as the suit went offline, so did all the Demo-Bots and the Lexcorp VR Glasses. A crowd gathered and cheered them on as the Super Hero Girls. Barbara Gordon got an idea to use Sweet Justice after Wonder Woman declared the team should celebrate every victory there. During the three months it took for Lexcorp Construction Services to rebuild Sweet Justice, Gordon made a few late night trips to the construction site to build a secret underground base. On the night of the grand opening, Gordon revealed the base to the team.

The girls met up at the base to see what Beecher and Gordon were secretly working on. They unveiled the new iteration of Bumblebee's suit. The growth tech still malfunctioned. Cruz couldn't accompany them to the mall for a parts run. She was going to protest the Zataras' use of animals in their magic acts. Zee Zatara was elated and propose they share a cab. Cruz reassured Beecher she would figure out how to fix the problem.

Kilowog trained Jessica Cruz and Hal Jordan in space near Earth. He observed the pair spar with each other and didn't get why she didn't attack. Jordan made a staff and started talking in sports jargon to her confusion. She only defended his strikes with her own staff construct. Kilowog ended the session and they flew to him on an asteroid. Kilowog asked her what her strategy was was to hope the pizza guy distracted him. Jordan found that to be a good strategy. Kilowog told him to be quiet and stated she would be in the infirmary if she was fighting someone else. Hal Jordan reminded him he said she didn't fight. Kilowog exclaimed everyone in the Green Lantern Corps fought. He generated a big hammer construct and charged. Cruz created a shield. Kilowog told her the power ring was only as strong as its user's willpower, fear weakened the mind and fear rendered the ring useless. He asked her why she wouldn't fight back and asked if she was afraid. Cruz declared she wasn't afraid and launched an octopus construct on Kilowog's face. Jordan cracked up.

After he pried it off, he realized he was standing on a rug construct and Cruz yanked it away. Kilowog fell on his back. She claimed there was always another way. He contended she got lucky and she wouldn't be able to keep it up forever and sooner or later, she would have to learn to fight. Cruz and Jordan flew back to Metropolis High. Jordan agreed with Kilowog and believed she would have to hit someone eventually. Cruz disagreed and teased him about being wrong about so many things. Two girls and the Hamsters mascot walked by and cheered on Jordan. Cruz retorted that life wasn't like a sports match and there were more ways to perform a touchdown than punching people. Jordan realized the visiting football team was from the high school his ex-girlfriend, Carol Ferris attended. He hid behind a trash can. Ferris spotted him and walked behind the bleachers. She changed to Star Sapphire and declared he was hers and fired a heart construct. It blew up the trash can. Jessica Cruz couldn't believe he dated her.

They recited the Green Lantern oath but only Cruz changed into a Green Lantern. Jordan's fear of Ferris made his ring useless. Cruz told him to run to the locker room then fired off arrow constructs to shatter Star Sapphire's hearts. Cruz formed a bubble around herself and Jordan then high tailed it. She stopped when Star Sapphire revealed he broke up with her by text. Cruz called it the lowest thing he ever did. Sapphire generated a giant heart and threw it at Jordan and he went flying. Cruz caught him and flew to the locker room. The boys inside freaked out and ran away at the sight of Cruz. She slapped the back of Jordan's head. He explained a Violet Lantern's ring was powered by love. Cruz realized they had to make Ferris not love him. Cruz believed making Hal Jordan ugly was the best idea. She tried ruffling his hair several times but he still looked rugged. They noticed Garth Bernstein carrying towels. Cruz demanded his clothes and made Jordan wear it then instructed him to slouch a little, shorten his neck, and stick out his gut then shoved him outside.

Jordan imitated what he thought a nerd sounded like. Star Sapphire was apalled and powered down. She found him so sad, pathetic and gross that no one would ever love him, except her. She proclaimed she loved him forever and could see the beauty behind the geek then declared he would be hers once she got rid of Cruz. Cruz vehemently denied they were dating. She became too powerful and Cruz couldn't dissipate her constructs. Jordan kept trying to implore her to hit Sapphire in vain. Cruz tried to make a safe construct around her but she easily blasted through it then Cruz's barrier then fired a massive beam. Cruz raised a shield and was nearly overwhelmed. Cruz realized she had to break her vow. She shattered the beam with two giant hands then grabbed Sapphire. Rather than squeeze her, Cruz pulled her down to the field and hugged her tight. She told her Jordan didn't love her but she could do much better. Cruz pointed out his face was way too small for his head, had terrible breath, his real name was Harold, and the only book he read was a playbook.

Sapphire realized his breath smelled like dog food and when she tried to make him read "Pride and Prejudice," he asked where the pictures were. Cruz advised her that she would find the love she needed when she learned to love herself. Sapphire realized she was right and powered up differently. She learned her blind desire for Jordan prevented her from seeing how much love she had inside of her. She vowed that one day, she would make him good enough for her then he would be hers forever. She flew away laughing like a maniac. Jordan pointed out now she was totally unstoppable based on a million chicks he saw like that. Cruz slapped him again. Cruz greeted Lois Lane, bummed she missed out on the fight, and commented on the game. Jordan didn't get her ploy and almost blew it but she elbowed him. Jordan understood and cheered on the Hamsters. Lane unenthusiastically cheered. A goal post fell onto the field.

Diana Prince couldn't wait to show the other Super Hero Girls the dance decorations but they discovered someone vandalized all the posters. Danvers joked someone already tore it up. Cruz didn't find her funny at all. Danvers kept telling jokes like booking a band that shredded it too hard or maybe ticket prices were slashed. Cruz groaned. Prince went into the girls locker room to get ready for practice while the others cleaned up in the halls. They found Prince in the locker room a little roughed up. Cruz proposed they get her somewhere safe. Danvers disagreed and didn't think she was the one that needed protecting. Prince was worried about the other students. While they pondered how to evacuate the students outside without causing them distress, Danvers hit the fire alarm. Cruz asked about the "no distress" part. Danvers retorted it worked. They suited up but Cheetah slashed up the electrical panel and caused a school-wide blackout during the storm. With a lot of territory to cover, they split up.

Green Lantern took the library. She made a candle construct and looked down the aisles then made a flashlight construct. At the computer station, she heard a cat meow. She walked to the G aisle and made a lantern construct modeled on the Lantern power battery. Cheetah charged and attacked her. After the battle between Wonder Woman and Cheetah, Prince checked on a noise in the gym but it was the other Super Hero Girls carrying Supergirl around, who was immobilized by one of Zatanna's spells by mistake. On behalf of the school paper, Cruz got a lead on illegal chemical dumping and wanted to pursue it for her Enviro-Beat column but Lois Lane, her Editor-in-Chief, was more interested in Danvers' claim about someone better than Superman. Cruz laughed along with Leslie Willis' mean memes at first. Green Lantern formed a giant tire construct to defend against Livewire's attacks but she traveled from light to light into a man's cell phone. Livewire reappeared behind Lantern and drop kicked her. Livewire made a gif of it for the Metropovids website.

During prank night at Glen Morgan Square, Livewire joked they found the cause of greenhouse gasses. Lantern turned red with embrassment. Lantern made a shield construct and along with the other girls, joined Wonder Woman in taking on Livewire's attacks. Zee Zatara and Jessica Cruz helped Barbara Gordon finish unpacking her belongings in her bedroom and organize the contents. Cruz placed her Batlamp by the window using hand constructs and saw one last box. It had Gordon's Bat-Mite doll in it. She told them a story about one of the times she tried to meet Batman but got teased by Robin instead. During a debate, Diana Prince shut everydown when the topic was paper or plastic by citing reuseable canvas bags. Cruz was confident Prince was going to crush it again on Debate Team. Things took a turn for the worse when Steve Trevor, the first boy Wonder Woman ever met, showed up. Prince started screwing up the volley ball game badly. Cruz realized the Amazons taught Prince everything except talking to boys.

On Tuesday, Prince had the debate in the bag with her inspired answer to the topic, hanging toilet paper in the over or under position. However, Trevor was on the other team and he admitted he didn't know much about the topic but thought both were equally valid. Prince digressed again and thought his answer was so eloquent she conceded, to Cruz' horror. Prince had slipped into a delirious state by Saturday. Gordon tried dousing her in water from an orange cooler but it had no affect. Danvers stated that's how she was going to be from now on. Danvers shook and slapped Prince and reminded her she was an Amazon warrior and the literal symbol of female empowerment. Cruz told her she was entitled to her feelings and she should deal with it her way. Prince started talking out loud to Trevor saying she loved vanilla, too. Gordon suggested they take out Trevor. They all quickly agreed to the new plan. Batgirl hacked into the military academy and got Trevor accepted so he would leave the school. Trevor got the call just before the other girls were about to attack him behind.

Jessica Cruz finished her latest Enviro-beat column for the Daily Planetoid. She printed out a stack of it and posted them throughout school and handed them out. A girl found one in a book in the library. Cruz rained several downstairs on students. She told the other girls of her accomplishment at lunch but Gordon pointed her to the trash bin. It was stuffed with copies of the column. Zatara thought the column was a lost cause but she refused to admit anything was a lost cause. She shoved a copy in Zatara's face and pointed out the title of her latest article happened to be "There's No Such Thing as a Lost Cause." Cruz yelled out that everyone could have at least tossed the papers into the recycling bin right next to the trash bin. A boy crumpled one into a ball and threw it. It harmlessly bounced off Pamela Isley's back and she didn't react at all. Cruz growled and the boy slinked away. Cruz felt sorry for Isley because she had no friends at all.

Gordon clued her in and pointed out how Isley carefully placed her hair to cover her face, looked downward, and wore oversized baggy clothes to tuck her away from society -- she didn't want friends. Cruz thought that was nonsense and believed everyone wanted friends. She didn't think Isley met the right one yet. Zatara and even Danvers told Cruz to leave her alone. Cruz repeated there was no such thing as a lost cause. They all groaned. Cruz greeted Isley and startled her. She inquired about the plant in the pot. Isley said it's name was Phil and he complained if she left him home alone. Cruz talked about her peace lily that she forgot to water often. Isley told her she and Phil preferred to eat alone because photosynthesis was most optimal in silence. Cruz droned about how she liked silence, too. Isley took Phil and went to the quad to get more sunlight. Cruz thought that went well. In science class, Cruz told Isley they were lab partners. Isley stated she had an agreement with the teacher that she didn't do lab partners. Cruz promised it would be a blast. Isley's chemicals exploded.

Isley opened her locker and found a note left by Cruz that read, "Roses are red, violets are blue, I would really like to be best friends with you!" Isley was disgusted and closed her locker only to be spooked by Cruz. Isley stated violets were not blue, it was an unfounded stereotype. While Isley used the bathroom, Cruz tried talking to her from the stall over. She asked Isley if her shoes were made from sustainable rubber. Isley stormed off. During P.E. class, the students ran laps. Cruz caught up to Isley and invited her to the community garden this weekend. Isley told her to leave her alone and kept running faster but Cruz kept chasing after her. Cruz promised it would be fun. The girls watched from the stands. Danvers thought it had gone on long enough. They staged an intervention and lured Cruz to a classroom with a fake ad about orphaned puppies. Diana Prince admitted it was a clever ruse then told her Isley was not exhibiting signs of receptive to her amicable advances.

Cruz was oblivious and believed they were chatting all day and were becoming quite close actually. Zee Zatara shook Cruz and yelled at her to wake up and smell reality because she wasn't into her. Cruz calmly pushed Zatara off her and left the room. Gordon thought the intervention went well. Cruz set up a table at the school's front entrance and tried to drum up volunteers to help her save an ancient tree from being destroyed and prevent another Lexbucks Coffeehouse from being built. There were no takers. Cruz sat on the pavement and sighed. Isley noticed and asked Cruz if it was all true. Cruz confirmed. Isley asked to come along. Cruz' demeanor changed and she excitedly stood up. Isley asked what the plan was. They chained themselves to the tree. Isley noticed the removal notice stated the tree was going down the next day at 5 am. By night, Isley was angry. Isley screamed for Cruz to stop as she sang her version of the Star-Spangled Banner.

Cruz admitted she got the date wrong but Isley shushed her and revealed she was waiting all night for the tree to speak. Cruz didn't understand. Isley stated he wanted to tell a story. Cruz played along. Isley relayed the tree's life story out loud. It lived for centuries and cared for others then became the king of the forest for 300 years until man drove off the animals, killed the other trees, and built a city that became Metropolis. Isley asserted he now was the one that needed protection. Isley summoned vines to attack the demolition crew. A car was launched up in the air. Cruz made a trimmer construct and cut the chain. She discovered Isley was gone. Cruz switched to Green Lantern and made a shield. She was surprised to see Poison Ivy. Ivy launched three workers into the air. Lantern made a mattress construct to cushion their landing. Ivy told her to stay out of the conflict. As more vines appeared. Lantern sliced them down. The vines grabbed jack hammers but Lantern made a brick wall.

Lantern vowed she wouldn't let the workers get hurt. The vines were relentless and Lantern was started to stagger. Ivy had the bulldozer lifted up and she had the vine throw it at the crew. Lantern made a shovel construct and batted the bulldozer away. The bulldozer ended up in the center of the tree, to Ivy's horror. The tree split in half and both sides fell to the ground. Ivy was reduced to tears and blamed Green Lantern for killing the tree. She declared she was unworthy of the color of life and vowed to make her pay. Ivy disappeared down a hole in the ground. The tree was chopped into logs and hauled away. Isley returned and declared people were a lost cause. Cruz stopped her and looked at an acorn. They planted it together. Cruz stated there was no such thing as a lost cause. Isley smiled. Cruz put her arm around Isley and believed it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Isley shoved her away and warned her not to push it. A sapling emerged from the acorn.

The Super Hero Girls traced vandals to a warehouse in Sinister Slum. They burst inside and blindly attacked five figures until Green Lantern made a lasso construct and snagged all of them. To the girls' surprise, an axe construct appeared and chopped a section of the lasso. Supergirl had enough and pushed the roll up door upwards to let sunlight in. The girls met a team of teenage super hero boys named Da Invincibros, comprised of Green Lantern, Flash, Aqualad, Hawkman, and Green Arrow. Bumblebee was confused there were two Green Lanterns. Zatanna thought Green Lantern knew them, but she only knew the other Lantern. He then accused them of being the vandals. Wonder Woman called him a deceiver and claimed they were the vandals. Lantern was amused and called Green Lantern by her first name, asking what was up with Wonder Woman. Green Lantern was annoyed and resorted to pig Latin to get him to stop. Aqualad realized she was Jessica Cruz. She then outed Lantern as Hal Jordan.

In the race to the next location, Jordan used a skateboard construct to ride hand rails. Cruz used a trampoline construct. Jordan called a double fault and made a tennis net. Cruz hopped it and made a treadmill construct under Jordan. After she ran past, he realized he was running in place. He made a pole and vaulted to her. He suggested she use Green Lantern Girl, Green Lantern-ette, or Green Lantern Babe to clear up the confusion of their shared hero name. They hopped cars stuck in traffic then ran past an elderly woman feeding wild pigeons. Cruz was annoyed and told him he better hope she never caught up to him. Instead of vandals, the threat was the return of General Zod, Ursa, and Non. The Green Lanterns took support roles rather than fight and used their rings to make giant hands to save a bus full of civilians then they made grappling hooks to hold the portal back to the Phantom Zone open so the others could eject Zod, Ursa, and Non through.

Starro rampaged through the city. The Super Hero Girls responded and tried to restrain it by grabbing each appendage but Batgirl walked away to take a call. Starro chased them. Green Lantern tried to pull Zatanna free of Starro but all three were propelled backwards like a rubber band. The girls traded blasts with it and were barely able to send Starro to another dimension with the crystals. On Harleen Quinzel's first day, Quinzel presented her new flower and blew Cruz off her chair with a huge burst of water. The girls took Quinzel on a tour of the city, mostly out of respect for Gordon. Cruz fed pigeons at a park but Quinzel ran through and scared them off. Gordon started to realize they didn't want to hang out with Quinzel. They tried to deny it but Gordon used the Lasso of Truth on them. They all thought Quinzel was the worst. Catwoman's crew eventually got the Super Hero Girls' attention. Star Sapphire blasted heart constructs at Green Lantern who swatted them away with a racket construct.

Zatanna and Green Lantern were forced back to back using shields to defend against Sapphire and Livewire. Harley planted a bomb near them. Things took a turn against the Super Hero Girls but Batgirl then the police arrived. The girls made amends. Green Lantern wanted everyone to promise no more splitting up, especially with Catwoman and her crew on the loose. Karen Beecher stumbled on Harley's plan to blow up the bridge. After failing to get Barbara Gordon's help, Beecher left Burrito Bucket and ran into Cruz, who was protesting the franchise. She drafted Beecher into her cause and handed her a stack of fliers about saving the cows. She misunderstood Beecher and thought she made an eloquent speech about mankind blowing up the bridge between man and animal. She saw a man walk by with burrito buckets and chased after him with pamphlets. Zatanna later found her, told about the bombs, and the girls backed up Bumblebee on the bridge. Cruz realized what she meant then trapped Poison Ivy and Catwoman in a prison construct. The teams regrouped and charged at each other.

With reservations, Cruz brought her mother's van to help transport Catwoman and Harley's bodies after Katana took their souls. She pointed out she wasn't even allowed to let her friends ride in it, much less soulless supervillains. She stopped and scolded Supergirl for painting Catwoman's face with Zatanna's red lipstick. Batgirl told everyone to relax because all they had to do was hide two bodies at her house. Giganta's body fell on top of the van. Lantern glumly made a van construct and drove. The girls dragged and carried the villains up to Batgirl's bedroom. Lantern scolded Supergirl for spraying Sapphire's hair into a super spiky do. Bumblebee realized Ivy was missing. Lantern panicked about leaving Ivy on the van roof rack, ran out to get her, and came back.

Jessica Cruz volunteered at the Metropolis Animal Shelter and helped out on Adopt-a-Pet Day. The lead volunteer gathered everyone and announced they should try to beat last year's goal of three adoptions. Cruz stood up and suggested they should get all the pets adopted. Everyone stared blankly at her. One month old Mittens the kitten was given to Granny. Cruz switched Flooferson and Fluffington around and got them adopted. She got Garth Bernstein to adopt a fish. A cockatoo was adopted by a young man with a similar mohawk. A boy got four turtles of varying sizes. A rabbit, a snake, and a ferret also got adopted. During clean up, the lead admitted he thought she had a real gift for pairing animals with families. Cruz believed there was a perfect owner for every pet and it was up to them to find them. Cruz put a carrier away but some lights switched on. She noticed there was one animal left but there was caution tape all over his cage. The animal's name was Dexter.

The other volunteers told her to back away if she knew what was good for her. One girl admitted she thought Dexter was sweet until the day she fed him dry cat food. She lowered a sleeve and revealed scratch marks all over her arm. The lead revealed he called him "Dexy" once and got his stomach all scratched up. Another girl brought up the time Monica touched his tail. Monica, an incoherent mess, repeated "Here kitty, kitty" and meowed. Cruz chuckled and pointed out he was just a cat. The lead clarified he was a bad cat and it was almost his "time" anyway. Cruz refused to leave it alone and tried to get him adopted. A mother and son came by. The boy made the mistake of grabbing Dexter's tail. He went into a frenzy. They ran off. Dexter dragged Cruz as he ran around destroying carriers and signs. She finally lost her grip on his leash. He charged at her. The lead suddenly landed in front of her and wrapped Dexter in a blanket. He stated no one on Earth was going to adopt him. Cruz was still determined. Cruz believed Dexter needed an owner with a strong will and a leader to follow. She drove to Metropolis High and asked Diana Prince if she was interested.

Prince accepted the call to help Dexter and boasted how she cared for others' animal companions on Themyscira and even became known as the "Minotaur Whisperer." She began to sneeze. Cruz realized she was allergic to cats. Dexter knew this, too, and brushed his tail on her nose. She collapsed. He perched atop her face. Prince clenched her fists and demanded his removal. Cruz shifted gears to finding a traditional family environment. She drove to Barbara Gordon's house. Gordon always wanted a cat and renamed him "Batkitten." Cruz wondered why not "Batcat" but Gordon informed her that was just dumb. Dexter climbed up a bookcase filled with Gordon's Batman collectibles then pushed them off. Gordon barely caught each one. He then pushed one off that took her 32 hours to complete. She missed and it shattered. Cruz shifted gears to find a real animal lover. Garth Bernstein asked if Dexter was cool with fish. He ate the newly adopted fish. She took Dexter to Hal Jordan next. He agreed to take him. Thinking he was a dog, he vowed to teach him to catch a tennis ball and let him do his thing on a few hydrants.

As soon as Jordan took him inside, Dexter went into a frenzy. Chairs, a HDTV, football, and laundry were tossed outside. Cruz decided to cast a wider net and took him to a pet store. Jimmy Olsen helped take photos. Dexter was dressed up like a newsboy. A crowd gathered and advanced upon him. Dexter's anger reached a boiling point and attracted a power ring from the Red Lantern Corps. Dexter could now speak English and emerged a Red Lantern. He renamed himself "Dex-Starr" and revealed members of the Corps were chosen from the angriest beings in the universe and their rings were fueled by the red light of rage. Cruz thought the bowtie was too much. Cruz tried to come up with a strategy with Olsen but realized he already ran away. Dex-Starr declared he was not a nice kitty and vomited a lava-like substance that melted anything it touched. Cruz dove at the last second and told everyone to run out the back door.

Dex-Starr listed off the things that angered him: wearing collars, eating kibble, and being forced into a forever home. He declared his forever home was suffering and pain. He vomited again. Cruz pulled down a display to shield herself then ran. They got into a cat-and-mouse situation. He eventually cut her path off. She leaped over him as he vomited and changed into Green Lantern. She demanded his ring. He refused and swore she would pay for her crimes against felinity. He vomited. She made a carrier construct to catch it all. She dangled a cat toy construct. He cooed and played with it but got frustrated. He slashed all the kitty litter bags then flew in a circle at high speed to spread it around the store. Cruz struggled to breath as he baited her with his ring. She found the exit and ran outside for air. Dex-Starr teased it was soon her "time" then the whole stinking planet would be his forever home. He powered up and charged.

Cruz made a blanket construct, wrapped him, and grabbed his tail. He went into a frenzy and sped about, melting the sign pole, Jessica's van, and light poles then blew up the store. Cruz managed to get his ring off and de-powered him. She still felt bad for him and decided to adopt him herself. Back at her home, she petted him and asked if she was the perfect owner. He slapped his food dish away. She found him funny. Cruz made a recycle bin construct for all the rejected ideas for Supergirl's new codename until she chose "Powergirl" at last. The new fame went to her head. Cruz told her Supergirl was a hero who did to help people, not become famous, and she didn't deserve to be treated terribly in Livewire's memoir. Cruz placed Supergirl's folded costume atop the book. During a battle with Livewire, Powergirl remembered Cruz's words and rallied against her as both Powergirl and Supergirl.

Mr. Chapin proctored the Friday Home Ec class. Not knowing anything about Home Ec, he looked online and picked an egg challenge because it was the first thing he saw. He gave the class the task of keeping the egg safe until Monday and assigned pairs. Isley was paired with Cruz. Cruz hugged Isley very hard. Cruz couldn't wait to spend the whole weekend hanging out with Isley and protecting the egg. Isley quickly ate the egg. With Batgirl out of town for the weekend, the Super Hero Girls called on Catwoman to help them infiltrate the Lexcorp Tower so they could steal the Book of Eternity and prevent its misuse. Lantern was uneasy with committing a crime. Green Lantern's role was to pose as a waitress and scan a fingerprint off his drink. During the heist, she kept dropping or losing his drinks until she lost patience and snatched it with a hand construct. Luthor waited for them in his secret lair and easily defeated them thanks to the Book of Eternity. Lantern was exposed to a yellow colored gas and passed out. In the end, Catwoman freed the girls and they destroyed a meteor before it hit the city.

Jessica Cruz took Barbara Gordon, Pamela Isley, Garth Bernstein, Hal Jordan, and Karen Beecher to her parents' cabin for a weekend retreat. Cruz informed Gordon and everyone else they were roughing it with no technology or super powers. Cruz and Jordan put their power rings in a sack, Bernstein put in his phone, and Beecher and Gordon put all their tech inside. Gordon pouted. Cruz reminded everyone Isley was with them so they couldn't use their powers even if they wanted to. Isley was horrified and angered by the murder of plant life by everyone. Cruz mistakenly offered her a veggie-kabob. Isley ran off into the forest and summoned Plant Zombies from the ground of various sizes and shapes. Cruz chided Jordan for not being more welcoming. Annoyed with Gordon's attempt to scare everyone with a spooky story, Cruz went to the cabin to get more marshmallows. The Plant Zombies attacked the others. Beecher, Gordon, and Jordan made it to the cabin. They closed the windows and locked the door. Cruz asked them where the gluten free graham crackers went.

They told her zombies were attacking and trying to steal their souls. Cruz didn't believe their story and opened the door partially. A zombie reached its hand in. Cruz closed the door and relocked it. They began barricading the door but the hand on Jordan's leg mutated him into a plant zombie, too. Zombie Hal Jordan kept asking for a sandwich. Cruz threw Gordon a push broom. Gordon bashed his head but had no affect. Gordon believed he was completely brain dead in his new form. Cruz asked how they could tell. Jordan's arms extended and grabbed them but Beecher jammed a bucket over his head. He stuttered around blind and walked into a closet. They shut the door and Cruz put a push broom to lock up. The zombies' vines began to creep into the cabin. To make matters worse, everyone's equipment and weapons were in a sack hanging from a tree outside Cruz' mom's minivan very far away and between it and the cabin were all the hordes of Plant Zombies. Cruz implored Beecher and Gordon to improvise. They made makeshift armor and weapons using what they could find in the kitchen.

Cruz tied a cutting board around her chest and took a frying pan. Beecher remembered Cruz was a pacifist. Cruz stated she was also a vegan and ate plants for breakfast. Cruz witnessed one regrow its arm then used more force to knock it out. Cruz made a run for the sack and jumped off the minivan roof. She reached the sack but was pulled down into the horde. Poison Ivy was satisfied, declared it was the glory of nature, and began walking home. Cruz managed to find her power ring and turned into Green Lantern then completely decimated the horde of Plant Zombies with a large chainsaw construct. On the drive back to the city, they came upon Isley. Isley was shocked they were still alive. Some time later, Cruz braked all of a sudden because she remembered they forgot about Hal Jordan.

Cruz had a nightmare that took place in the school library. Zee Zatara found her while she chased after Fuseli, the perpetrator. He pointed out types like her had a gold mine of fears and insecurities if you dug deep enough. A female voice told Cruz she wasn't good enough. Books with teeth starting flying around telling Cruz she was weak and useless. Fuseli joked they sounded like his ex. The bookshelves closed in around Cruz. Zatara tried to cast but could not. Fuseli teleported around and revealed her she had no power in nightmares. The bookshelves started to close in around Zatara but she got an idea and opened a portal to her dream. Cruz and the others woke up after Zatanna pulled Fuseli to the real world.

Beecher and the others liked Casey Krinsky after she got them coveted tots for lunch and later kittens. They didn't believe Zatara's claims she was crazy obsessed with her. Things got worse when Krinsky revealed her super power to steal the powers of her victim. She took on Zatara's appearance and the girls were none the wiser. Things got even worse when they all went to the secret headquarters. Krinsky realized they were the Super Hero Girls and stole their powers and costumes, too, and left them powerless and weak until Zatara tricked her into going back to normal. Jessica Cruz was hired by Alfred Pennyworth to babysit at Dick Grayson's birthday party. She convinced Beecher to work with her. On the day, she picked up Beecher at Gordon's house. In the ride over, Beecher looked at Dick Grayson's birthday party invite and told Cruz she never babysat any children before. Cruz admitted it could be tough to keep things under control but advised her that kids crave guidance. She drove over a little bridge to the client's property.

Cruz claimed as long as they acted like the adult and proudly stated she had a rare and coveted five-star review on MetropoSits.com. The gates opened. Beecher realized they were at Wayne Manor East. Cruz was in her own world and thought Beecher was amazed about her rating. Cruz rang the doorbell and told Beecher not to be nervous. Pennyworth answered the door. Beecher was speechless. He welcomed them to the manor. Pennyworth took Cruz and Beecher to meet Grayson. He and his friends quickly lined up. Pennyworth introduced Grayson, Kory, Victor, Garfield, and Rachel. Cruz introduced herself then Beecher and wished Grayson a happy birthday. He thanked her. Wayne called out for Pennyworth to get the "Bruce-mobile" ready. Pennyworth paused in the doorway and suggested some guidelines to Cruz and Beecher, including the children should not be permitted in the wast wing, flotation devices are by the pool already pre-inflated, the safety latches on cabinets must be used, and no sugar for Kory because it doesn't particularly agree with her. Cruz got all on of on a notepad while Beecher blanked. He wished them good luck then sped off.

Cruz and Beecher turned around and saw the children in costume. Grayson, now Robin, declared they were the Tween Titans. The Titans caused a ruckus. Cruz acknowledged they might have powers. Beecher asserted they did, too, but Cruz stopped her from changing into Bumblebee. She claimed they didn't know any better and they were the adults. Robin rode a levitated vase like a cowboy on a bull. Cruz stressed they only needed the power of patience, understanding, and wisdom to give to all children, super or otherwise, plenty of freedom to express themselves. Beecher noted her mother said kids needed boundaries. A portal appeared and a piano fell through it and crashed to the floor. Cruz thought Beecher was being naive. Cyborg transformed into a steam roller. Cruz believed boundaries kept things from growing. Starfire did aerial cartwheels. Beast Boy turned into a dog and ate a shoe. Cruz instructed Beecher to treat them with love and they would fall right in line. She demonstrated and called out to them. The Titans paused. Beast Boy landed in Cruz's arms and licked her face.

Cruz felt validated children loved it when adults tried to connect with them. She asked Raven about her feelings. Raven looked up from her book and told them in the dark realm of Azarath, her babysitter was a deceitful eight-legged Spider Gorgon. Cruz decided they bonded enough and suggested party games. Robin was first to try to hit the star shaped pinata. Cruz concluded redirecting kids' naturally high energy kept them under control and earned their respect and gratitude. Robin lifted up the blindfold so he could see with one eye. He opted to whack the other Titans: Beast Boy then Starfire then Raven's book then the eager Cyborg. Cruz ran past them, took the bat, and broke the pinata open. Candy spilled out. Beecher remembered a rule and tackled Starfire before she could eat any candy. Starfire frowned. Beecher suggested it was time for another game. Cruz agreed but they had to clean up the mess first. Raven shared in that in the dark realm, children who made messes were fed to the demons. Cruz was happy she volunteered and complimented her for being mature. She handed her a broom and told her to come outside and join them when she was done.

Cyborg was challenged to prove he could do a cannonball from space into the swimming pool. Cruz and Beecher raced to the fifth floor but watched as Cyborg took off with his rocket boots and performed his cannonball. He generated a gigantic tidal wave and pushed all the water out of the pool. Beast Boy turned into a dolphin then a fish and slapped Cruz's head. Beast Boy dared Cyborg to turn into a jet ski. The Titans rode him around. Cruz got between them and the Greenhouse of Glass and announced it was time for the birthday cake. Cruz tried to get them to sit nicely and quietly but they demanded the cake. Starfire burst out the cake with her mouth full. The sugar rush got to her and she unleashed a massive starbolt wave bigger than the manor itself. Beecher asked if it was time for powers. Cruz confirmed. Beast Boy turned into monkey and swiped their pendant and power ring. He landed on Starfire's face as she ate more cake. Beecher had it and screamed they were on time out. The Titans tied them up and hung them upside down above a portal in the foyer.

Cruz apologized to Beecher. Beecher tried to tell it was okay but Cruz knew better. Her MetropoSits rating will tank. Beecher observed Robin giving her locket to Cyborg and told Cruz it was time to stop acting like adults and stoop to the Titans' level. She dared Cyborg into getting past the mega hi-tech locking mechanism in her locket. Cyborg connected to the locket. Robin flicked Cruz's power ring into the portal. Cyborg unlocked the portal. The Bumblebee suit flew out to Beecher. She flew off and grabbed the ring in time then put it on Cruz. She made a pair of giant safety scissors to cut herself down then made a surfboard construct. She declared it was time to put the babies to bed. They didn't take kindly to being called babies. Cyborg turned into a motorcycle and Robin rode him in a showdown with Green Lantern in a hallway. At the last second, Lantern trapped them in a bouncy house construct. Starfire threw starbolts but Lantern made a shield construct then sent a cute teddy bear construct to her. She was elated and hugged it.

Lantern fired a giant twister construct at the Titans. Bumblebee tossed their clothes into the twister. Lantern made a giant cradle construct for them then Bumblebee threw baby bottles into their mouths. They rocked the cradle and the Titans fell asleep. The Titans were successfully transferred to a real bed. Pennyworth, Wayne, and the crew returned but the manor was still a wreck. Cruz and Beecher had no idea what to do. Raven sleepwalked and appeared behind them. She stated in the dark realm, displays of respect and affection were considered symptoms of sleep walking. She cast and the manor was restored to normal. Pennyworth stepped in and was amazed. It even looked cleaner than when they left. Wayne tossed a huge stack of money to Beecher and continued on. Pennyworth asked Cruz and Beecher if he could book them for next Saturday. They hightailed it.

Lois Lane came up with a new story about uncovering the secret identities of the Super Hero Girls to get her internship at the Daily Planet. Jessica Cruz happened to be in the office and freaked out. During lunch, Cruz told the other girls about Lois Lane's new story idea to find out the Super Hero Girls' secret identities. Danvers wasn't concerned. Cruz pointed out how tenacious Lane could be until she got her story then told them they would no longer have any privacy, news and villains would hound them, and their parents would blow up. Zatara told Cruz she was right about Lane and called her a word wizard whose unassuming charms matched her own. Beecher jumped into a recycle bin and hyperventilated into her sack. Cruz realized they couldn't let Lane talk to anyone else. Zatara agreed but saw her talking to Hal Jordan. Jordan spelled out his name to her but she was pretty sure his last name ended in A-N. He was surprised. The girls zipped over to them and took Jordan away to talk about some "school stuff." Cruz collared Jordan by the stairs.

Zatara grilled him. Cruz pointed out she was against violence but was willing to make an exception. Jordan assured them Lane asked some very pointed questions then slowly slid Cruz away from him and revealed the questions were about the Zod incident. He emphasized that he recommended her to Barry Allen. They found Allen. He said Lane asked him about his job at Sweet Justice and if he was there when it got destroyed. He noted it was the same day he met them and the Super Hero Girls. Cruz asked him if he specifically said they were there right before the Super Hero Girls showed up. Allen couldn't remember but remembered Lane wrote it all down real fast. Beecher continued to hyperventilate. None of their ideas to throw Lane off the trail worked. The girls sulked at Sweet Justice. Danvers asked Cruz why she didn't warn them about Lois Lane. Cruz was livid and recalled she did a "zillion" times. Cruz lamented she would have to leave the space sector to Hal Jordan. They slipped away and defeated Killer Moth and its Moth-Monster army. Lane killed her story upon remembering they did a lot of good for the city.

Cruz went on a nature hike with the other girls but Beecher was absent. Cruz called up Beecher and discovered she was a bus stop. Cruz felt bad for Beecher because she got up so early and still couldn't make it to the hike. Green Lantern and the rest of the girls helped free Supergirl from Ra's Al Ghul's Red Kryptonite and mind control song. Lantern tried using non-violent methods to stop her from attacking who she thought was Up Past 8 by creating a giant trampoline construct to dull her approach and a parachute construct to draw her away from the stage. The girls concluded a study session at the Metropolis Library. During cleanup, Gordon realized they had Prince's bag. They got into Cruz's van and went to drop it off but nobody knew where she lived. Gordon used her phone to pinpoint Prince at Centennial Park and admitted she put trackers on everyone. She was met with glares. Danvers asked her to not be creepy for once. Gordon tracked her to a giant tree in Centennial Park. Prince was camped atop the tree and greeted the girls. They convinced her to try living with one of them.

Jessica Cruz took Prince to her home. Prince was surprised by the multitude of pets inside. Cruz explained she and her family adopted all kinds of animals in need, even a stray friend this time. She showed her to the living room. Prince asked where the dying room was. Cruz showed her the bathroom. Prince noticed there was only one toilet whereas school had many. Cruz explained houses had just one usually. Prince stated she would not fight her for the porcelain throne and submitted. Cruz suggested an alternative that Prince use this one and she would use the downstairs one. She left Prince alone to go pick up her parents at the airport and suggested she run a bath, make a snack, and relax. Cruz and her moms came home to a catastrophe. The refrigerator was wide open and stuff was melted, her sack was on top of a potted plant leaning over, and the dishwasher was stuffed with Prince's weapons and burst open. In the meantime, Prince hand turned a huge ham over the over stove top. Specks started falling down. They looked up.

The bath tub and tons of water dropped down through the ceiling. Prince added she ran a bath like Cruz suggested. The Cruzes were dumbfounded. Jessica Cruz laughed nervously. Hal Jordan almost made it through Valentine's Day without seeing her. While traversing the halls inside a rolling trash bin, he was startled by Jessica Cruz. She quickly caught on that he was scared of Carol Ferris. He warned her not to say Ferris' name out loud. She was upset to learn it was also the day he broke up with her by text. He didn't see what the big deal was. He shrieked at the sight of Ferris down the hall. To Jordan's surprise, Ferris walked over to her new boyfriend, Thaal Sinclair. He swatted his handshake away and told Ferris he decided to take her back. Everyone in the hall gasped. Cruz face palmed. Hal Jordan went to the Metropolis Animal Shelter to vent his frustrations about Carol Ferris and her new boyfriend while Jessica Cruz did her volunteer work. Jordan considered Thaal Sinclair was possibly more romantic than him.

Cruz paired a cute dog with a girl. Cruz stated she didn't want anything to do with him and Ferris and their stupid drama. Jordan pondered and agreed with her, he should change who he was to win her back. He thanked Cruz for being a real pal and ran off. Cruz groaned. Carol Ferris later found Jessica Cruz in the Metropolis Library and begged her for help. Whispering, Cruz clarified she wanted her to help deal with Hal Jordan. She caved and agreed to talk to him. She squealed and hugged her, and called her a real pal. Cruz face slammed the desk and groaned. While playing mini-golf with Hal Jordan, Jessica Cruz attempted to talk to him about Carol Ferris. Jordan cut her off and agreed with her, he should lay it all on the line and be a man if her were to get her back. He clung to Ferris' leg sobbing and begging her to take him back. He admitted she was the best thing that ever happened to him. Cruz ran over and apologized.

Ferris came clean that it was an elaborate ruse to get Jordan to clean up his act and come crawling back to her. Sinclair came clean that he was actually a former bro of Jordan's in the Green Lantern Corps, Sinestro, and he craved revenge for being ghosted. Sinestro readied the final blow and declared he would hit him where it hurt him the most, stealing his real girlfriend Jessica Cruz. Cruz shouted back that she wasn't. Sinestro fired rose constructs at her. She ran behind a pirate ship, changed into Green Lantern, and made giant shear constructs to clip the roses. Sinestro was shocked she rejected his flowers and made a giant box of chocolates construct. She made a trash can construct to catch the chocolates. Sapphire felt validated at Sinestro's statement and was infuriated she stole her real and fake boyfriends. Cruz made a shield to block her arrows then hid an igloo with Jordan. She declared it was the dumbest thing he dragged her into. Suddenly Dex-Starr arrived and melted the igloo with his lava.

Dex reveled in her mistake of leaving that chair too close to the counter where he recovered his power ring. She made a wheelbarrow construct and hid under it with Jordan. Sinestro and Sapphire also fired on them. Cruz told Jordan it was his fault. They lifted up the wheelbarrow and flew away. Jordan didn't understand how it was his fault. They dove behind a giant cheeseburger. She told him to apologize and hope they forgave him. Jordan understood he had to take responsibility. He made a flag construct and waved it then apologized. They all gasped. Jordan added they had every right to be made at him because it was his fault for being so awesome. Cruz couldn't believe it. Jordan explained to Sapphire that if he wasn't such a cool guy, she would never have fallen for him. He didn't mean to be so charming and irresistible. He explained to Sinestro that if he wasn't so super cool and fun to hang out with, he wouldn't have taken it so hard when he ditched him.

Jordan wasn't sure why Dex hated him and said he was sorry he was such a terrible cat. Cruz was impressed at how badly he missed her point. Jordan chuckled at his brilliance. Sinestro, Sapphire, and Dex fired three arm constructs at once at Jordan and pulled him to them for a big group hug. Cruz was disgusted. Sapphire was impressed Jordan showed a new vulnerable and sensitive side. Sinestro declared only a true bro would humble himself so much. Dex liked how he always tasted like steak sauce. Sinestro offered to buy him an ice cream. They glided away on a rainbow of their spectrums. Cruz stopped them with hand construct and asked Jordan if he seriously didn't learn anything. Jordan contended he learned the greatest lesson of all, he didn't need to change himself to make people love him, being himself was enough. Cruz admitted that was a really good lesson but he was still such a jerk. Sinestro took offense to that and Sapphire declared only she could call him that. Jordan calmed them down and figured she would get there someday. They continued on. Cruz groaned and facepalmed.

During a battle with a big humanoid monster, Green Lantern was paired with Green Lantern. In response to a building on fire, she was paired with Flash. After Diana Prince presented her new pet, Jessica Cruz seemed to be the only one who was concerned it was a griffin. The next day, Prince sneaked him to school. She asked Prince if she was sure about having a pet because that was a big responsibility. Danvers reminded her Diana Prince could handle anything. Diana Prince smuggled a bigger Steve into Metropolis High School in her back pack. She tried to act normal but the girls saw right through her awkward facade. Cruz realized she brought Steve and thought Prince lost her mind and pointed out the trouble she would get if Mr. Chapin found out. Mr. Chapin asked them what he was going to find out. They quickly feigned innocence. He gestured he was watching them and walked away. Prince assured Cruz that Steve was well-behaved. She discovered her back pack was empty and there was a big hole in it.

Steve ran past Chapin undetected as he took a drink from a water fountain. Steve entered the science lab and swallowed Hammy whole. Beecher sighed and fainted. Cruz was stern and ordered Steve to drop the hamster. Steve groaned and spit Hammy out. Cruz wanted Prince to admit Steve was no ordinary pet and a wild beast. Prince wasn't hearing it and stated he was the perfect pet. She hugged him. Prince admitted he just needed a little discipline. Jessica Cruz went to the Ye Olde Metropolis Renaissance Faire as an elven ranger. Cruz and Beecher found Danvers and Gordon and revealed Prince and Zatara were running late and would meet them inside. Cruz was surprised Danvers came at all. Danvers took her turkey legs and called the booth worker Ember a geek and left. Cruz apologized for her. The festivities when Ember kidnapped Zee Zatara and turned out to be a dragon. Cruz created a bow and arrow construct for the fight. Cruz told her to release the princess and things would end peacefully. An arrow construct formed.

Ember stated the only way it was ending was with a princess in her belly. She breathed fire and sent Supergirl packing. The others paused and dove out of the tower just in time to avoid more fire. They landed in a haystack and knew they had no time to waste. Cruz turned to Supergirl and only saw a massive scorched trail. As the battle continued, Cruz made a giant falcon construct and sent it to the tower to free Zatara but Ember formed her fire into a rope, snatched the construct, and slammed it into the ground, dissipating it. Cruz made a shield construct to block the bat fire constructs but some of them hit the haystack and the tower caught on fire. Bumblebee spotted a nearby water tower. Cruz used the shield construct atop Ember's flames and surfed it while she fired arrow constructs at the water tower's legs. The fire was successfully put out but it quickly reignited. Ember trapped the girls in a fire cage and returned to the tower. The combined might of Wonder Woman and Zatanna defeated Ember.

After Batgirl left the team to be Batman's sidekick, Cruz had a hard time coming up with a slogan to protect the Blue Iguana for the Metropolis Iguana Project and lamented Gordon was so good at them. Katana made one instead, "Save the Iguana or perish by my blade." Cruz liked her but admitted she was a little intense. Catwoman later presented herself as a replacement as she robbed them blind. She saw the iguana sign and suggested "I wanna save the Iguana." Lantern nodded. Catwoman left. Lantern was giddy and proceeded to change the sign but realized her paintbrush was stolen. At lunch one day, Danvers told Cruz about her recurring dream. She played the Malevolent Maniaxe's new track. Cruz couldn't believe anyone could sing that loud and tried to fix her hair. Danvers revealed the Maniaxe were playing at the Lazarus Pit on Friday then explained at the last 23 Pit shows, they brought a lucky fan on stage to shred with them. She believed her dream was coming true and quickly bought two tickets for them. Cruz asked if that was the same night as Mr. Danvers's pitch. She remembered but asked if her told her. Cruz pointed out the thank you letter included in her lunch.

Kara Danvers was psyched for the Malevolent Maniaxe concert at the Lazarus Pit. She told Jessica Cruz anyone who was picked stood right where they were up front. Cruz asked what happened to her father's pitch meeting. Danvers tried to lie it got postponed. Cruz noted she must be very special for him to reschedule such an important night. Danvers downplayed it and said he just needed anyone to stand there and play along. Cruz became suspicious. Danvers recognized the look of "Kara, you're doing something you know you shouldn't, but are doing it anyway." Cruz continued to stare at her. Danvers caved and revealed she asked her Bizarro to take her place at Jeremiah's pitch that night. Cruz couldn't believe her. Danvers assured her she was 100 percent positive that Bizarro was doing great. She realized Bizarro was standing right next to her. Bizarro stated there were too many questions so she asked herself, "What would ugly me do?" She realized it was, "Blow off boring dinner and go bang head." The Maniaxe started their act. Danvers reminded Bizarro she had to do it and if anything else came up, call her. Bizarro nodded and left but kept calling Danvers up. Cruz stared sternly at her. Danvers eventually returned home.

While the girls hung out at Sweet Justice, Gordon proposed the need for a "suped-up" car like Batman. Cruz noted the week before she wanted to take the family van to a rally for peace but her moms wanted to take it to one for love. Gordon suggested they pool their money together and buy a car. Cruz wanted the car to have an eco-friendly electric motor. The girls ended up with an extreme fixer upper of a car. Cruz made a welding gun construct for Beecher. Cruz shouted The Green Machine as a name for the car. Nine and a half hours later, they were set to vote on "SuperWonderBatBeeZeeLanternMobile." Cruz admitted she liked they had part of their name in the car but proposed something shorter. Zatara believed they needed something simple that said "Hero!" Gordon tried to come up with acronym for H.E.R.O. and uttered Hitech Equally Rationed O-tomobile. Beecher pointed out the obvious with spelling automobile correctly. They all still voted for "H.E.R.O." Cruz and Danvers got into a radio war over serene or rock music. Prince finally turned the radio off.

Gordon saw a big rig truck and gestured to the driver. The horn blared. Cruz was startled and swerved. The same robbers Gordon failed to capture happened to drive past them. They quickly changed in the car and went after them. Green Lantern insisted on driving only up to the maximum speed for the HOV lane. Bumblebee hit the Danger button. The car screeched and spun around then fired a giant cannon that popped out. The robber's car was engulfed in a net. The next day, Gordon returned to the secret base late because Danvers left the gas tank empty in H.E.R.O., the girls' car. Danvers had to spend money on air fresheners because Cruz hauled compost. Prince suggested it was time to break their vow. They all agreed. Prince told Gordon her chart was preposterous, mainly because she to the car at 6 am on Sunday. Cruz thought that was better than 4 am on a Tuesday. Danvers pointed out she could use her ring to make any kind of vehicle she wanted. Cruz countered she could fly. Everyone tried flying away with the car.

Batgirl dived after the plummeting car and successfully fired a grappling hook into the driver's seat. She buckled up but realized they were falling. Lantern made a trampoline construct. The girls pulled at the car at the same time. The car crashed into a handicap stall. It was a total loss. Cruz came down the slide into the base and announced Metropolis High just gave her approval to do a fundraiser for a cause near and dear to her heart, the Pit Roach. Danvers perked up and admitted that was her all-time favorite band. Cruz explained that she meat the Montisan Screeching Pit Roach, a new invasive species that just appeared in Metropolis. She presented a queen roach in a jar. Danvers' fear of bugs flared up. Cruz continued that the city wanted to eradicate them but she was collecting them at her house to keep them safe. She wanted to build a Pit Roach Sanctuary in Metropolis Park. It was specifically designed to keep each roach separated. She was going to raise money by putting on a talent show and was hoping everyone would help out.

Gordon volunteered to do a comedy act she and 'Lil Harleen used to do in Gotham City. Cruz asked Zatara to do a magic act. She added she could sing, dance, and act, too. She conjured a glamour shot. Cruz wanted Danvers to shred on her guitar, Beecher to run tech backstage, and for Diana Prince and Oliver Queen to sing a duet she wrote about the roaches as the finale. Prince stood and started a speech about how honored and privileged she was but Cruz cut to the chase. Prince agreed to do it but confessed she never sung before. Cruz was fully confident she would be amazing like anything else she did. Prince was terrible. During rehearsals for Cruz's talent show, Zee Zatara did her rabbit act but threw in some singing to coax Cruz into letting her do more. Cruz asked her to stick to magic. Danvers dialed her amp to 10 and shredded on guitar. Beecher, Cruz, her jar with the queen Pit Roach, and their table to launched into the air. Gordon performed her ventriloquist act. Cruz conferred with Beecher to see if she also thought Gordon was alluding to Harleen Quinzel and not a puppet when she first described her comedy act.

Beecher took solace that they had the finale with Prince and Queen left. However, Prince turned out to be a terrible singer. Cruz couldn't tell her so Danvers stepped in and told Prince she stunk. Prince was confident at the next rehearsal but she was still terrible. Danvers quickly shut her down. Cruz feigned shock and quietly thanked Danvers for saying so. Cruz was crestfallen she had not sold a single ticket for her talent show fundraiser and there was only three more days. Prince placed the Sirens' Conch in her backpack and sang beautifully. Everyone was floored. Even Queen was enamored. The students out in the hall were awestruck, too. Cruz's show quickly sold out. During dress rehearsal, Prince was overcome with guilt over cheating. She failed to notice her singing put Queen in a trance. Prince confessed to Cruz that she cheated. Cruz felt terrible and apologized for putting her on the spot. She was okay with having Queen sing both parts. They realized he was gone.

In a trance due to Diana Prince using the Sirens' Conch, Oliver Queen wandered to Jessica Cruz's house and freed all the Montisan Screeching Pit Roaches. They poured out of her bedroom like a tidal wave into the city, engulfing all in their path. Cruz wondered what happened. The entranced Queen was carried past them. Prince realized it was all her fault. They suited up. Batgirl, Wonder Woman, and Zatanna attacked but Green Lantern formed a barrier construct, still attached to the roaches because she raised some of them since birth the day before. Zatanna flew to her on her surfboard construct and pointed out they were labeled an invasive species for a reason. Cruz countered mankind was one, too. A bus was carried by the swarm. Lantern contended they didn't belong in Metropolis but needed guidance from their queen. However, if she released the queen, the roaches would burrow underground and there would be no stopping them. She wanted to lead them back to containment.

Zatanna compared their screech to Wonder Woman's bad singing. She got an idea from the insult and changed back to her civies. Using a portable speaker and microphone, Prince used her terrible singing as a substitute for the queen and led the roaches back to their cages in Cruz's bedroom. The talent show went off without a hitch. Backstage, Cruz confirmed the ticket sales was enough money to send the roaches back home to their native island. Prince finally admitted she was not good at singing. Cruz was relieved. But Prince vowed she would be some day sing like the nine Muses. Cruz staged another intervention on Danvers and tricked her to come to the secret base for pizza. Cruz informed her there was no pizza and apologized for the chicanery. Danvers didn't know French and just wanted the food. Cruz clarified there was no food and she wanted to talk to her about her anger problem. Danvers tried to point out the only person who had a problem with her anger was Cruz. Cruz got out her phone and played a News 6 clip of Supergirl tossing a news van after the reporter called her "Girl Superman" by mistake.

Cruz wanted her to come to her anger management support group. Danvers sarcastically asked if she should bring healing crystals or if the group would be providing them. Cruz had to play her last resort. She made an arm construct that reached into one of her drawers and pulled out a card. It was a birthday card from Danvers that was an IOU. Danvers conceded. She went to Cruz's Getting to the Healing Emotional Anger Requires Training (H.E.A.R.T.) meeting. Barry Allen, Carter Hall, and Pamela Isley were also in attendance. Cruz welcomed Danvers as a new explorer in their expedition of their soul. They walked over to hug her but Danvers threatened to take their arms off. Hall admitted he wasn't sure about it either at first, but ever since, he was able to face the anguish of his unrequited love. Isley claimed she learned to manage her searing hatred for all mankind. Allen revealed his temper got out of control when the pressure of school, work, and other stuff built up. He admitted one time he said "heck." Hall and Isley hugged him. Danvers wasn't moved.

Cruz presented the Mirror of Forgiveness. They dragged her near the mirror. Everyone was supposed to hold hands. Allen and Isley held hands. Danvers refused to hold his. Hall stepped up to the mirror and forgave himself. For the next exercise, Cruz handed a bowling ball to Isley. It was meant to represent how people held onto their anger and how exhausting it was. Isley dropped it and felt better. They hugged her. Danvers pointed out all the stuff that makes you angry is still out there. Cruz explained the group's purpose was change how people expressed that anger. Danvers countered what good was being angry if no one knew about it. She liked how she expressed her anger and wanted to be left alone. She punted the bowling ball but it hit Hall in the gut and dropped him. Danvers was mortified and asked him if he was okay. He repeated forgiveness was key. Cruz refused to give up on Danvers and her anger. She looked through books for a solution. Zatara applied some nail polish and suggested she should just listen to what Danvers said about how she chose how to express her anger.

Cruz got an idea to use the power of suggestion. Zatara was skeptical hypnosis would work and cautioned Cruz based on her experience. Danvers inquired what wasn't easy. Cruz took out a pocket watch and told Danvers she was getting very sleepy. Danvers was instantly hypnotized. Zatara stood corrected. Cruz told Danvers that whenever she encountered something irritating, she would see it as something adorable. On three, Cruz snapped her out of it then tested Danvers to see if it worked. She revealed she left her laundry in the washer last week and accidentally turned her favorite boots lime green, spruced up her room with a life-size cut out of Superman, replaced all her soda in the refrigerator with much healthier bean milk, and took away her jacket then put a burlap sack on her. Zatara got concerned and went to the pillow fort at her room. Instead of Cruz, Danvers saw a koala and tickled it. Three days had passed since Cruz staged an intervention on Danvers about her anger issues. At school, Gordon noticed Danvers was acting weird and asked Cruz and Zatara about it.

Mr. Chapin confronted Danvers in the hall about flunking homeroom somehow. Thanks to Cruz's hypnosis, Chapin looked like a cute cat. Chapin wondered how she failed a block of time that doesn't give grades and wondered what he was going to do with her. She just wanted to boop his nose. Chapin told her to stop but she kept doing it. He eventually tried to run away but she chased after him. Gordon couldn't believe she hypnotized Danvers to manage her anger. Danvers cradled Chapin and kept booping his nose. Gordon hoped there was a way to undo it. Chapin got away and ran but Danvers chased him again. Cruz revealed the way to undo the hypnosis was to push past her rage threshold. Gordon pointed out the solution was to make her mad but she was under hypnosis preventing that. Danvers dragged Chapin by the back of his shirt. Poison Ivy directed her amoeba monster into the city to absorb everything in its path. Supergirl, Batgirl, Zatanna, and Green Lantern arrived.

Supergirl was still under Lantern's hypnotic spell to manage her anger so the monster instead looked like a giant puppy to her. She flew right into it. Lantern went after her and made a protective bubble around them. The pulsating spore that acted like the heart of the monster squeezed the bubble on them. Lantern admitted to Supergirl that as a child, she was consumed by fear and was afraid of everything so she came to resent herself and that turned into self-loathing so she had to learn anger management. When she saw Supergirl get angry, Lantern wanted to shake her and tell her there was a better way to deal with it and do what she said. It managed to push Supergirl past her threshold of anger and broke the hypnosis. Supergirl screamed at her to stop telling her what to do then declared she was the person she wanted to be. She was rough around the edges but Lantern had to be okay with that. Lantern understood. Supergirl wanted to move on and get to where they were and how they were going to get out. Lantern apprised her of the situation, they needed to rip "the heart" out.

Cruz generated a tunnel to the spore, Supergirl flew in it, but the spore destroyed it. Supergirl swam the rest of the way, grabbed the spore, and flew up into space. The amoeba's body was so resilient, Supergirl couldn't pierce it that far into space. Lantern made a safety scissors construct and severed that part of the amoeba. Supergirl broke out and hurled the spore into The Sun. The rest of the monster dissipated. Cruz and Danvers buried the hatchet over pizza in the base. Cruz promised to never interfere with how Danvers dealt with her emotions ever again. Danvers thought she went totally overboard but thought Cruz actually helped her. She pointed out Cruz was not in a hospital for being party to Danvers cuddling Mr. Chapin. She chalked it up as progress. Cruz was about to hug her but stopped. Danvers welcomed the hug but tried to steal Cruz's slice. Cruz knew it. Danvers apologized.

In the base, Zatara made the others sing happy birthday to her until it was perfect then revealed it was only her pre-birthday, the day before the real one. She presented her Birthday Binder, activities and gift ideas in order from most expensive to even more expensive. She left it with the girls and went to get the second volume. Cruz admitted she loved Zatara but when it came to her birthday, she got a little crazy. Zatara vented over the other girls not wanting to celebrate her birthday to the max but inadvertently cast a dark magic spell that turned Cruz, Danvers, Prince, Gordon, and Beecher into birthday obsessed zombies. It was when they sang the song she sang when she was venting the night before. Zatara realized she put them under a spell by accident. Outside her bedroom, Green Lantern projected "Happy Birthday Zee" into the sky and stood on her surfboard construct creepily. Giovanni Zatara put up a force field to stall for time while his daughter figured out how to undo the spell. Eventually, Lantern made a meat grinder construct and finally broke it.

Kongulon, an officer of the law on her home planet Getalorpia, responded to a tip that a juvenile prankster planted a world-destroying bomb on Earth millions of years ago and it was about to blow up. In her haste, she rushed to Earth and forgot her universal translator. She arrived on a Tuesday. She was unable to warn anyone and instead emitted sonic blasts that caused destruction. Green Lantern used her ring as a translator to communicate with Kongulon. Together, they figured out the bomb was located under the Metrobelisk in Centennial Park. However, Kongulon got attacked by Supergirl, who was unaware of the situation. Lantern intervened by making a wall construct and launching her into a Fresh Fish delivery truck. Kongulon blew up the obelisk to extract the bomb in time but Hawkman attacked her. Cruz caught the bomb. Kongulon feigned injury so Hawkman would stop and congratulate himself. Cruz slipped her the bomb and she flew into space with the bomb and threw it to a safe distance where it detonated. Cruz wrote an incredibly long and detailed report and submitted it but no one on Oa read it.

The week after, the Guardians of the Universe held a disciplinary hearing to determine whether or not Jessica Cruz was in violation of the Green Lantern code 3.4.8-0, Article V. Kilowog acted as the prosecutor and created a construct of the book about the Corps's code to make sure. He also made himself a construct of reading glasses. They dissipated once he was done then used his ring to activate the screen in the tribunal room. He stated an alien menace went on a rampage on First Street in Metropolis that threatened thousands of lives with sonic blasts emitted from its mouth but Cruz refused to attack it. Kilowog pointed to Cruz and asked her how she pleaded. She sat and smiled. Kilowog whispered to her that pacifism was her thing but she stood to lose her ring and advised her to throw herself on the court's mercy. Cruz insisted she didn't need to plead because she already absolved herself in her incredibly long and thorough report about the incident. She asked him if he read it. Kilowog became nervous and lied he did, claiming he found it "wordful."

Hal Jordan suddenly burst into the room with a suitcase construct and objected. Cruz was shocked and concerned by his presence. Jordan claimed he was saving her bacon and revealed he had been through a ton of disciplinary hearings and knew a Lantern was entitled to a peer advocate. He rifled through papers in his construct and produced one that showed he signed up to be her advocate and forged her signature. She saw the backward double "s" in the forgery and noted he spelled her name wrong. Jordan thought he missed a silent "p" and wrote it in then reiterated to Cruz that she could lose her ring and asked her to imagine a life without it. He asked her how she would get a kitten out of a tree, hail a taxi, or open a can of soup. He illustrated with constructs of each. Cruz made a broom construct to clean up after his. She replied, a ladder, a taxi app, and a can opener then stated she was not worried because everything was in her report and she had faith in the system. Jordan asked to let him at least stay for moral support. Cruz obliged his request and told him to stay quiet. Jordan promised not to say a word.

Kilowog moved to begin again. Jordan objected and claimed he was being immaterial. Cruz made a gavel and pounded it, overruling him. Kilowog was confused why she was overruling her own lawyer. She stated she just wanted him to be quiet. Kilowog sighed and repeated the charge was Cruz's failure to act allowed the alien creature to nearly destroy Metropolis. Jordan called it circumstantial hearsay. Cruz asked him why he was speaking. Jordan thought he was calling her bluff and floating up to the five Guardians presiding over the hearing. He stated he was just a simple man that dealt in simple truths. Cruz thought he was half-right. Jordan continued they were all present for the truth and noted Kilowog was not present during the said event. He asked Kilowog if he did or did not actually see Cruz not do or not-not do anything to not prevent or not-not prevent the alleged disaster. Kilowog had no clue how to answer that question. Jordan thought he made a point then concluded Kilowog had no proof that any damages were a direct result of her negligence. He winked at Cruz and poured himself a glass of water.

Kilowog produced Exhibit A, recorded testimony from a woman present at the incident, She claimed she saw everything and it was a direct result of Green Lantern's negligence. Jordan did a spit take. She made an umbrella construct. Jordan suggested a plea bargain. She strongly declined because she did nothing wrong. She tried to direct everyone to page 389, subsection G, paragraph 98 of her report but Jordan cut her off and told her not to worry. Kilowog called his first witness with his ring, Supergirl. She landed face first in the witness booth. Jordan thought he had the advantage since she was a BFF of Cruz's. Cruz stated she already had Supergirl's statement in her report. Jordan claimed "my witness." Kilowog pointed out he was supposed to say "your witness" when he was done but knew better and let him proceed. Supergirl asked Jordan what was going on because she was front row at a Pit Roach concert. Jordan cut to the chase and asked her if she was there when the monster and its big mouth were tearing the city apart.

Supergirl recollected she attacked the alien in Centennial Park but Green Lantern made a wall construct that ricocheted her into a Fresh Fish delivery truck. And the smell of mackerel was still in her cape. Kilowog asked her what happened next. She told them the alien destroyed the park's Metrobelisk which ticked her off even more because that was supposedly the only monument that didn't honor Superman. Kilowog interpreted it as Supergirl would have stopped the alien if not for Cruz's actions. He implored Cruz to change her plea so she wouldn't lose her ring. Supergirl became alarmed and tried to recant but Kilowog sent her back to Earth. Jordan saw it as proof that if Supergirl could not stop the monster, no one could. He made little constructs of Cruz fighting the alien. Kilowog called his next witness, Hawkman. He asked Hawkman what he remembered about the event from last Tuesday. Hawkman recalled he heard alarms, got there, saw the thing, pounded it, and it flew off scared. Kilowog sent him back to Earth. Kilowog stated if Cruz was aggressive, the disaster could have been avoided. He declared the prosecution rests.

The Guardians were ready to adjourn to deliberate unless Cruz had anything to add. Cruz was relieved and wanted to read her report. The Guardians nodded off while she read the title of the forward, "Forward, The Heroism in Pacifism." She started from when she was a little girl. Jordan exclaimed they were getting killed and nobody read the reports. He hit his head with the report to get an idea. He summoned a surprise witness, Garth Bernstein. He was confused. Jordan asked him if he was at the event. Bernstein started to say he was at a podiatrist appointment but Jordan fake sneezed and tossed a balled up paper at him. He wanted Bernstein to read the false statement on the paper. Bernstein was lost at "PJessica." Jordan was about to toss $10 to him. Cruz believed Jordan was going to get her ring taken away. Jordan believed her blind belief in the system would and insisted the Guardians weren't going to read her report. Cruz fired him. The Guardians adjourned.

The Guardians were about to issue their ruling. Cruz once again asked them if they read her report. They, too, got nervous and lied they did and it was "wordful." Cruz realized Jordan was right. She was about to be declared guilty but Jordan burst in and stated the defense un-rests. Kilowog countered that wasn't a thing. Jordan planted the report in his face and thought he was pretty sure it was a thing because he had to un-fire himself to do it. He wanted to call in one more witness. One of the male Guardians stated Jordan made a mockery of the tribunal and they began to question his judgment as a Lantern, in general. They granted Jordan's request but with the caveat he would lose his ring, too, if they still found Cruz guilty. He accepted. Jordan called Kongulon the Getalor to the witness stand. Kongulon testified and exonerated Cruz. She added it was all in her report, held out her copy, and remarked it was a fascinating read. Cruz signed it for her.

The Guardians were about to absolve her of any wrongdoing but she quickly summed it up as not guilty, they would read all the officers' reports before passing judgment and rethink their policy on violence being the only solution. The Guardian conceded but asked her to promise not to tell the Blue Lanterns or he would never hear the end of it. She volunteered to write up a report on the new policy that's so long, they wouldn't get through the title. Cruz and Jordan flew off into space. She admitted he was right about them not reading the report but asked him how he knew to call the Kongulon. He admitted he skipped to the last page. She thanked and hugged him. Jordan stated he would never leave a friend behind.

The girls started watching a Just Before Dusk movie on Gordon's laptop in the secret base without Beecher. Taking her for granted lately, they mistook a teddy bear dressed up as a bee next to them on the couch as her. A future version of Beecher named NightSting emerged from a honeycomb portal. She claimed there was no time to identify herself because the world was at stake. The girls took her as a threat and attacked but NightSting quickly neutralized them. She then used her right gauntlet to vacuum up Cruz's power ring. NightSting started to tell Beecher something of hers was taken and its absence sets off a chain of events that destroys her world and it must be recovered within the next 60 minutes or the future could not be altered. Beecher tried to apologize but cut to the chase and asked who took anything of hers. They all looked at Danvers. Danvers retorted she hoped it would prevent the apocalypse then pointed out the fact she wasn't the only one to take something.

Beecher pointed out Gordon was eating her granola bar, Cruz was eating her banana, and Zatara was eating her sandwich. Zatara pointed out the search was taking forever and they were all getting peckish. She added it was all Gordon's idea to steal her lunch. With time running out, everything Beecher kept bottled up erupted and she yelled at them for not respecting her or her stuff. With 15 minutes and 23 seconds left, Beecher fumed about being treated like a pushover and decided to take a crack at fixing everyone's personalities. She got sarcastic about Cruz having an opinion then noticed a basket on the couch. It was a swag bag the girls made for her. It had all her favorites: caramel popcorn, all-day jack smashers, and root beer. She apologized and told them they were the best friends she ever had. Beecher realized she was holding a lot in. NightSting returned and revealed she staged a ruse to get Beecher to learn to be more assertive at an earlier point in her life so she could become an even more take-charge and even less nonsense hero. NightSting regretted learning assertiveness so late in her life.

Jessica Cruz noticed Gordon and Danvers were becoming infatuated with their newfound popularity with the public at large after they booked Max Lord as their PR agent. Cruz closed her book and warned them about getting carried away and putting fame in front of doing the right thing or each other. Gordon and Danvers were distracted by a call from Lord and let their egos get the best of them. They made amends but Supergirl had one condition: they never tell Jessica Cruz she was right. Batgirl nodded in agreement. Cruz read the latest headline, "Supergirl and Batgirl Save Some Guy, Destroy Beloved Moofy Statue." Danvers conceded it at least led with her name first. Cruz grunted. Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Bumblebee, Supergirl, and Green Lantern unknowingly fought a giant rock-like alien named Prometheon with a duplicate of Zatanna. They put it together when the city was overwhelmed with tons of Zatanna duplicates. Green Lantern and Wonder Woman dealt with the duplicates inside Sweet Justice.

On new report card day, Cruz admitted she loved it even though it made her sound like a pawn of the education-industrial complex. Prince became catatonic over getting an A-minus. Five days later, the girls tried to cheer her up. Cruz went with breathing exercises to help her re-center and refocus. Prince only sighed and a fly flew out of her mouth. Some time later, the girls met to discuss what to do with Prince. Danvers proposed they swipe Prince's to-do chart when she wasn't looking. Cruz felt that since Prince was the most rational among them, they should jut share their concerns with both love and respect then she would hand over the chart willingly. Prince perched atop the refrigerator and hissed at the girls like a cat. Cruz admitted Prince was more obstinate than she thought then quickly shifted to Danvers' plan. Bumblebee shrunk and got the drop on Prince. She flew out of the base and Sweet Justice with the chart. Wonder Woman gave chase followed by the others.

Green Lantern made a hand construct and took the chart. She threw it to Batgirl. Lantern made a surfboard construct for Batgirl to ride while she, Zatanna, and Supergirl caught up to Bumblebee and Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman thanked everyone and vowed to never again let a "me-noose" get between them. They did a group hug but the stench from the garbage truck prompted them to walk away, still hugging. On movie night, Cruz asked Gordon how she could be enjoying Stop Sign Massacre 5. Gordon revealed she was happy to have a girls night because her retired father wanted to hang out with her nonstop. Cruz suggested she just tell him she wanted a little space. Gordon didn't want to hurt his feelings. Commissioner Gordon went undercover as a substitute science teacher to arrest Bane. After class, Cruz picked the pink liquid out of Gordon's hair in the hallway. She was quite sure it wasn't biodegradable. Gordon planned to transfer to Midway High School or Star City.

Mr. Dorrance, the substitute art teacher, bumped into them and told Gordon he expected great things for her "Food is Art" assignment. She perked up and stated anytime a burrito could be homework was a win-win. They did fist bump then he gave Cruz a fist bump. Gordon wished her father was as cool as Dorrance. Cruz assured her having her dad as a substitute teacher wasn't the worst thing. Three boys passed by and referred to Gordon as Pumpkin Pants. A woman on the p.a. system also referred to her as Pumpkin Pants and announced her dad wanted to have a daddy-daughter lunch but wanted to make sure she brought lunch because the cafeteria was serving goulash which made her gassy. She tightened the hoodie around her head and declared she wouldn't make it through the week. Cruz advised her to be upfront with him. She still believed she would break his heart if she did and vowed to endure the week.

After a few days, she started to crack. Gordon vented to Cruz in the girls restroom. Cruz felt she was overreacting and there was no way everyone thought she was a total joke. I-really-stink-man flushed, stepped out, glared at Gordon for calling name the most tragic one of all, and left. Gordon resigned herself to tell her father the truth. Prince was in a blind rage, still annoyed with Harleen Quinzel, and sharpened her sword in the secret base with a whetstone. She needed another one and borrowed Gordon's, completely unaware she took the Bat-ear. It wasn't until Cruz arrived and noticed she was still upset. The tip of the ear broke off. Cruz asked the obvious question of why would Gordon have a whetstone and why she didn't seen the special display table for "Batman's Ear." Prince was steadfast in telling Gordon the truth. Cruz admitted she would agree but in this case, Gordon really loved that ear. They overheard her singing upstairs in Sweet Justice about how she loved the Bat-ear and she would lose it mentally whether it was on purpose or done accidentally.

Cruz told Prince that Gordon wouldn't be back in the base until 6 am tomorrow to watch her cartoons so she had 10 hours to find the replacement ear and made a construct that resembled a Batman clock. Prince wondered if such a thing existed. Cruz pointed out only one person would know, Quinzel. That night, Prince returned empty handed. Cruz apprised her of the obvious, Gordon was hysterical about her missing Bat-ear. Prince knew it was time to confess the truth. To prepare the secret base for Hippolyta's visit, Cruz help with the dusting. Diana Prince's loud use of her abacus in the secret base disturbed Gordon and Cruz. Cruz pointed out her phone had a calculator. Prince chuckled and promised there was nothing their calculating device could do that her abacus could not. Gordon immediately challenged her to find the square root of 4096. Prince was about to set it to a thousand. Cruz used her phone and stated the answer was "64." Prince admitted that was fast and tried her phone. She instead took an embarrassing selfie of herself and sent it to the entire school. Gordon and Cruz were amused and lied their laughter had nothing to do with her. Beecher blurted out the truth. Prince threw her phone down in anger but that somehow sent a voice recording of her to everyone. She grabbed her sword and slashed it in half.

Jessica Cruz made a bid for class president at the latest Metropolis High School elections. Her platform revolved around reducing the carbon footprint and starting a garden initiative to bring fresh vegetables to the cafeteria. She promised they could "count on Cruz." Cruz had wide support from seniors like Hal Jordan to freshmen. Cruz just hoped she would get the chance to make a positive change. Beecher thought she was a shoe-in. She was opposed by Oswald Cobblepot and he made his bid for president by making impossible promises like making teachers take pop quizzes and free taco dispensers in the cafeteria. Electricity formed his surname above him. He busted out a shirtzooka and shot free campaign T-shirts to the student body. Cruz was not worried but the bleachers cleared out except for her, the girls, and the freshman girl that supported her. Cruz was confident in 24 hours the polls would show the students were too smart to be wooed by a bunch of empty promises and cheap T-shirts.

The next day, the girls checked the polls in Sweet Justice. Zee Zatara looked at a Daily Planet article covering the election, highlighting Oswald Cobblepot's dominance with his big promises and T-shirts. Cruz was optimistic she was still in the lead. Zatara broke it to her she was a little behind then came clean she was way behind. Somehow the school mascot Hammy the Hamster was polling better than her. Danvers suggested she promise a bunch of impossible stuff like Cobblepot does. Cruz refused and cited she had one thing he didn't, integrity. Prince agreed with her speaking her truths. Danvers groaned and snoozed. Prince, however, suggested adding some pizzazz. Danvers awoke. Cruz admitted she would use a little to get her message out. Gordon and Beecher volunteered to make her a commercial. Zatara volunteered to give her an image overhaul. Danvers alluded to landing her a superhero endorsement. Cruz was elated she was willing to ask Superman for her. Danvers was crestfallen and revealed she was talking about her. Everyone else was silent. Danvers groaned and promised to ask Superman.

Cruz was enthused about "Operation Pizzazz." Her commercial started off with Cruz shaking hands with students dressed prim and proper then being happily licked by Gordon's pet dog Ace. Gordon narrated begging the question, "What can Jessica Cruz do for you?" Next, she helped Garth Bernstein with homework in the library. Gordon states she would help you when you need it most and she can work harder than anyone. Cruz picked trash on the side of a highway then emptied her basket into a garbage truck. Danvers did a guitar solo on stage amid pyrotechnics at Lazarus Pit while Cruz mingled with patrons. Superman skywrote "Count on Cruz" in the sky then posed with her for selfies. He blinked at Danvers off to the side. She crossed her arms and looked away in annoyance. Cruz, a group of students, Superman, and Hammy gathered in front of the gym bleachers and repeated the class could count on Cruz. Cruz's commercial pushed her into lead. Cobblepot hired Leslie Willis to make one of her specialty videos.

The girls watched the video in shock as it painted Cruz as someone forcing vegetables on the school, doing the opposite of how Metropolis does everything big namely with the carbon footprints, and scheming to take everyone's freedoms away. Zatara scoffed and didn't think people would buy those lies. A boy stopped in the hall and yelled at Cruz that it was his feet and thus his footprints. Cobblepot retook the lead. Anti-Cruz propaganda littered the halls. Cruz started losing hope her convictions would be enough to win with. Prince assured her she would stand strong at the final debates the next day and remind everyone of what she knew about her from the first day they meet, she could count on her. Cruz hopes lifted but she overheard Cobblepot in his lair and eavesdropped. He decided to make the school's carbon footprint even bigger after he won the election just to spite her. She heard enough, tore one of his posters off the wall, and vowed to go big. Oddly, Cruz was late to the final debate. Cobblepot declared she chickened out.

Cruz abandoned her integrity and made a flashy entrance, being there the whole time crouched down on the gym floor into the shape of a green hump. She yelled out asking who was ready to rock the school. The girls were stunned. Zatara was quick to state she didn't sanction what she was wearing. She topped Cobblepot's previous play and shot 10 free shirts to everyone along with sunglasses. A pair landed on Hammy. Lane asked the first question to Cruz and Cobblepot, "what can you promise to do to make this school a better place?" Cobblepot brought up his promise of free taco dispensers in the cafeteria but Cruz butted in and she promised free taco, burrito, and burger dispensers in every classroom, valet student parking, optional attendance for all classes, and a performance by Up Past 8 at the prom. Everyone chanted Cruz's slogan. Cobblepot decided it was time for Plan B. Students cheered Cruz on to make more promises. Cruz saw her freshman supporter take her campaign button off. She apologized and stated she couldn't promise any of those things but she got so desperate to win, she forgot why she ran in the first place. She declared she could only truly promise she would work tirelessly and honestly to make their school the very best it could be.

Cobblepot tried to sway votes to him by staging an incident in which Livewire kidnapped Hammy. Cobblepot pretended to pummel Livewire then took back Hammy in triumph. Livewire listlessly played along. However, Cobblepot only paid her to take a fall and didn't pay her for everything else. He flipped Lane's microphone into her coffee cup and an errant bolt of electricity landed on Livewire's hair. Cruz quickly shot out constructs to protect the student body from Livewire's electricity as they cowered. She made an umbrella over two girls and a shield over a freshman girl. Livewire formed an unstable electrical field around Cobblepot, Lane, and Hammy as payback then fled the gym. The students overheard her and realized Cobblepot was a fraud. Beecher saw the electrical panel and told the girls they had to shut the power off before the dome came crashing down. Cruz used her shirtzooka to fire a shirt at the electrical panel to switch off the power. The field dissipated. The freshman's faith in Cruz was restored. Everyone chanted Cruz's slogan.

Garth Bernstein went to the girls for help after he learned Aquaman was coming to town. He explained his dream was to become Aquaman's sidekick one day but he tried to hard to impress him in his letters and made up a lot of lies. Cruz told him to come clean and mused he had some real accomplishments he could use to impress Aquaman. He told them he dethroned a Level 6 Realm King in his favorite online game, "A Pilgrimage of Elves." Cruz panicked. The next day, they waited with Bernstein for Aquaman. Prince voiced her disapproval with going along with the deception. Cruz agreed. Danvers split hairs about what kind of deception they were cultivating. She asked them if they could turn their back on an adorable, little dweeb in need but was also not scared of possible recriminations from Aquaman. Cruz remained in the storage closet and helped dress Prince, Zatara, and Queen for their roles. She even dressed up a piece of coral and sang a made up song about the coral reef with the other girls.

On Halloween, Barbara Gordon arrived at Sweet Justice in a Wonder Woman costume. She exclaimed, "Great Hera!" Diana Prince denied she ever said that and added she met Hera before who wasn't so great. Zee Zatara was surprised Gordon was going trick-or-treating. Prince admitted she was flattered by her costume choice but didn't understand contemporary Halloween tradition. Jessica Cruz explained it was a big part of the Halloween experience. Kara Danvers teased it was. For nine year old's and wackadoos. The girls joined Barbara Gordon and Harleen Quinzel for trick-or-treating in Gotham. Cruz dressed up as Batgirl. Cruz picked candy out of a cauldron set up outside of a house but she was scared off when a generic white ghost dropped down. Gordon and Quinzel laughed at her expense. Barbara Gordon was fed a false clue from Joker pretending to be Batman that the villain was targeting the family fortune of the last living Craddock at Craddock Manor. Zatanna and Green Lantern were assigned to the manor.

Lantern noticed a dead plant in a pot on the property and made a watering can construct and restored the plant to life. Zatanna was creeped out. Lantern tried to downplay as a little lived in but she noticed three possums hanging upside down by their tails over the front door. Three more peered out from atop the roof and they all screeched at them. Zatanna revealed she was getting a sense of deja vu about the name "Craddock." They heard what they thought were loud footsteps approaching the front door. They realized there was a rhythm to the sound and it was just a sick beat. Victoria Craddock, dressed as an 80's hip hop artist in a tracksuit, answered the door in-character and implored them to call her "V-Bone." She thought their costumes were sick and invited them to her party. They obliged her and walked in then explained the situation. Craddock thought they were tripping because her great-grandfather Jim blew the whole family fortune generations ago. She showed them the only heirloom she ever got. It was a red ornate jewelry box. Lantern noticed an engraving but it was too rusty to read. She made a brush construct and dusted the box. Craddock found her ring legit.

Zatanna was still trying to remember where she heard the name "Craddock" before. Craddock read the engraving aloud, "Only a Craddock may set me free." Zatanna remembered but it was too late. Her great-grandfather was James Craddock, the Gentleman Ghost. He emerged from the jewelry box and laughed cunningly. Lantern formed a cube around Ghost but he simply moved through it. He was disappointed they were what passed as super-heroes. Zatanna encanted backwards and bound Ghost in magic ropes. Lantern and Zatanna were relieved. However, Ghost broke free and motioned his cane, sending the ropes to tie them up. Zatanna was tiring of Ghost's 19th century burns. Joker and Harley Quinn arrived in a blimp. She shouted to Ghost to join them for the party. Ghost tipped his hat and excused himself but not before calling the girls "ninnyhammers." Craddock peeked out from under a table and declared his year's party was the bomb. The girls broke free, apologized for the mess, and left in pursuit of the villains.

Zatanna, Green Lantern, Bumblebee, and Supergirl reunited in Gotham. In Gotham Square, Green Lantern formed another cube construct around Gentleman Ghost. He was not amused by her trying the same trick as their first encounter. He stepped through the construct but it was just a distraction. Zatanna appeared behind him and encanted backwards. He was trapped in a magic bubble. Ghost broke out of the bubble and blew the girls off their feet. Victoria Craddock arrived and said the full inscription, "A Craddock may set you free, but a Craddock may your soul to keep." A vortex pulled Gentleman Ghost back into the jewelry box. She informed Zatanna and Lantern there was more writing inside the box. They hugged her.

One night, Wonder Woman called up Batgirl to recruit her for a mission to stop Mr. Freeze from causing mayhem in town. Green Lantern made herself a construct of a surf board instead of flying on her own. Batgirl ended up the first on the scene and was joined by Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Zatanna, Bumblebee, and Green Lantern then they charged Mr. Freeze. During lunch period, Jessica Cruz and Karen Beecher found Diana Prince in the cafeteria texting Barbara Gordon. They misinterpreted Gordon's texts. Prince thought she was eating at a new organic restaurant. Cruz was elated she became a vegan and thought all those pamphlets she gave her were finally read. In reality Batgirl was battling Poison Ivy and her giant vines outside. Prince thought vegans were from another planet. Cruz laughed and admitted she didn't have much luck with the other Green Lanterns. Prince thought the sad face meant the restaurant wasn't good. Cruz speculated the rats were back in the kitchen again or eat something bad or the MSG made her bloated. Prince eventually realized she meant Ivy. They turned around and saw Batgirl pressed up against the window.

Jessica Cruz and Diana Prince staged an intervention when Barbara Gordon's hoarding began cluttering the base up. Cruz created a banner that read "Intervention" and told Gordon it would be hard but she had a disease, hoarding. Gordon was concerned. They started going through the clutter for what to throw away. Gordon refused to throw away her night vision goggles, jet powered skates, Bat Shark Repellent, and cat brush. Cruz and Prince sighed then pointed to a pile of old food. Gordon determined it was fresh meat loaf but couldn't bring herself to taking a bite. She promised to clean up. Cruz and Prince were sucked up into a tube. Gordon felt better then sat down and watched TV. Cruz helped Prince to trick Danvers into revealing she was already healed from Kryptonite exposure following Metallo's defeat. Cruz and Beecher pretended to check up on Danvers then Wonder Woman burst in claiming Doomsday was attacking the city. After they left, Danvers flew out on her costume. The other girls were gathered on the roof. Wonder Woman asked her if she was feeling better.

Hal Jordan woke up at 7 am and saw he got a text from Cruz. She reminded him it was picture day. Jessica Cruz was in a rush to get to school for picture day but she couldn't ignore her environmental responsibility. Cruz found a piece of trash on the sidewalk outside a cafe and saw a trail of trash on the street left by a trio of children. She made garbage bag constructs and filled ten total then threw them into a dumpster. She caught Tommy throwing a plastic water bottle away and tried to lecture him but he left without her noticing. She leaned into the trash bin to get the bottle but it rolled away with her face in. It rolled downhill into traffic. People tossed their trash in as she passed by. A glass bottle from a driver and a banana peel from a bicyclist. She even inadvertently kicked a backpack into the face of a bully on a school bus. The bin somehow brought her right to school. Luckily, a driver swerved out of the way. The bin climbed a rail and went right in through the front entrance and past the line of students waiting to take their photograph for the yearbook.

Garth Bernstein was bumped off of the stool as he posed for another attempt. Cruz stood up just in time holding the bottle and took the photograph instead. Her photo was mistakenly used as Bernstein's in the yearbook. Later in the day, Cruz sneaked up behind Jordan and spooked him. Jordan was relieved it was just Cruz and apologized. He mentioned he had to figure out how to block someone on his phone. Cruz showed him how. Carol Ferris suddenly stormed to them and pushed the doors open, livid she was blocked. She saw Cruz and accused her of trying to steal him again and threw a punch. Cruz ducked and Jordan was decked across the room instead. He somehow landed on the stool and posed in a daze while Cruz and Ferris fought. He was punched at least once more before the photographer finally took a photo. Gordon and Cruz cheered Prince on at Sweet Justice's annual pie-eating contest. Prince lost control and began eating all the left over pies even after she was declared the winner. Gordon and Cruz tried to pry her away from the table.

Cruz lost her driving privileges after her mom's van was damaged in an incident involving Giganta. Cruz used her life savings to get the van fixed up and promised her mother she would not let it get scratched ever again. She got permission to drive it for a week. On Monday, Cruz picked up Gordon at a bus stop. Gordon starting pressing and pulling everything, thinking there were secret gadgets installed. Cruz informed her it was just a van. Gordon was shocked she didn't at least install grappling hooks. She tried the door handle but it broke off. On Tuesday, Beecher freaked out about speed limits, bicyclists, blind spots, and a squirrel as they sat in traffic. On Wednesday, Diana Prince used a map and gave her faulty directions. Cruz drove through Pelham Park, narrowly avoiding Tommy and his friend and a woman and her dog. Prince instructed her to go 15 paces south. Somehow, she sped past a busy intersection without getting hit. They emerged from an alley and she braked in front of Metropolis High. She slammed her head on the wheel. On Thursday, Zatara, Danvers, and Prince got into it about what music to play on the radio.

As they quibbled about jazz, metal, or classical, the radio knob came off. Cruz turned to them and warned them to settle down or she was going to turn the van around. Zatara alerted her. She braked just in time and avoided a fender bender. However, the van fell apart. The exhaust went, the bumper fell off, and the tires lost air. She had it and yelled at everyone to leave. On Friday, Cruz exited Metropolis High only to be surprised. The girls restored her mother's van back to normal. She hugged them all at the same time then offered a ride. The van wouldn't start. They chattered about checking the transmission, if there was any gas in the tank, and what gear the van was in. Danvers asked if they were there yet. Cruz groaned.

Hal Jordan took Jessica Cruz to the best hot dog stand in the city. He told her it was all about the toppings. He informed her the perfect hot dog had ketchup, pickles, sauerkraut, and mustard. To his dismay, she ordered a not dog. A news bulletin came up on the vendor's radio warning the city of an incoming asteroid. People ran off in a panic. Jordan told the vendor to guard his hot dog with his life then ran off with Cruz. They recited their oath and flew out to space. Cruz wanted to redirect it first but Jordan impulsively formed a fist and destroyed the asteroid. Cruz couldn't believe him. Jordan was eager to go eat. She pushed him out of the way of the remnant shower he created. Everything she said made him think of a condiment or different hot dog entree like Duck Dog with Hoisin Sauce and green onion or Mutton Dogs. Cruz pointed out he turned one problem into hundreds. He simply opted to smash them and deflect them with constructs of pickles, ketchup, sauerkraut, bratwurst, corn dogs, and pigs in a blanket.

Cruz made a sack and found his strategy to be the worst. Jordan got an idea and was inspired by Cruz to make a jumbo tofu dog. It worked and the remnants bounced off it into space. Cruz was surprised and commended him for containing a disaster of his creation for once. One piece slipped past them and crashed right into the hot dog cart they were at, destroying it and Jordan's hot dog. He fell to his knees in remorse. He became more depressed after Cruz suggested a salad bar. Cruz protested a Biology class over a frog dissection. The Super Hero Girls battled Starro, a giant alien starfish conqueror. It managed to grab Wonder Woman and Batgirl. Bumblebee blasted it with her stingers, Zatanna blasted its eye, and Green Lantern lassoed an appendage with a rope construct. Wonder Woman managed to lasso another. Batgirl tried a green spray. Supergirl used her heat vision. Jimmy Olsen tried to take a photo but the camera stopped working. He tapped and shook it but nothing happened. He faced it at himself and it flashed. They all posed just in time.

Jessica Cruz told Karen Beecher she was heading to the rally outside The Lumber Shop but she was stopping for a quick healthy lunch first. She hung up and went inside Matt's Vegan Cafe. Pamela Isley saw her and conversed with her plant, Phil. Phil convinced her to go to the rally with Cruz. She remarked he was such a social butterfly. Isley observed Cruz make an order and shrieked at the murder of all the plants inside. She used her powers and grabbed the worker on duty with vines first, had a vine take away a fork and stab at a woman, chuck carrots at another woman, made Cruz' smoothie for a hand and grab at her head, a plant slammed a couple into their salads, and another vine dragged a man away who promised to never eat another salad. Isley was satisfied and decided to skip the rally and get some steaks. Cruz wrested the smoothie away but a vine pulled her behind the counter. She changed into Green Lantern and broke free.

Lantern battled the plants and threatened one with clippers but was slammed against a window. Lantern bound one and sealed a salad in a takeout carton construct. Lantern made a giant cartoon beet and it chomped the last plant. Cruz exited the cafe out of breath. She made it to the rally and told Beecher her lunch wasn't as healthy as she thought it would be. On September 19, Green Lantern and Supergirl flew from Metropolis High School to the scene of Starro's rampage. Jessica Cruz covered one of Barbara Gordon's shifts at the Burrito Bucket while she was out sick. Cruz was confident she could handle working behind the counter since she protested there enough times. She told Gordon over the phone to get better and not to worry about a thing. Shane O'Shaughnessy stated he normally wouldn't allow it and noted a mop could do a better job than Gordon. He reminded her to put on the uniform. Cruz looked in a locker and saw a dirty uniform. She declined and put on Gordon's name tag only. O'Shaughnessy advised her to familiarize herself with the menu before the lunch rush.

Cruz thought it was going to be fun being Gordon for a day then she remembered meat was a big part of the menu. An order came in for a triple meat burrito. She made a veggie bowl instead. O'Shaughnessy took the bowl to customer but she pointed out it was wrong. O'Shaughnessy stormed into the back and yelled for Gordon. Cruz corrected him. He ordered her to give the customer what they order. She continued to substitute vegetables for meat in orders. O'Shaughnessy had enough and dragged Cruz to the counter to take orders. A new customer came and asked what was the special. Cruz stalled, looked at the menu, and lied about being all out of the special. She suggested the secret special. He asked what was in it but Cruz kept it a secret. He opted for a five meat enchilada. He got a Veggie Burrito Bucket. She ordered a bucket of tomato and zucchini burritos for a woman. The customers started complaining about their orders. O'Shaughnessy yelled at her again and told her to give customers what they ordered or she and Gordon would be fired.

Cruz watched customers eating meat and sank to the floor. She couldn't bring herself to serve meat. O'Shaughnessy was amused and asked her if she thought Burrito Bucket could afford real meat. She looked over to a barrel filled with substitute meat. Cruz was ecstatic it wasn't real meat and declared burritos for all. The customers cheered. The Enviro-Beat column was a bust but Lois Lane gave Cruz another chance and she was sent to hang out with classmates and interview them for a video column. She recorded a 2:28 chat with Kara Danvers.

The girls ate lunch until Gordon picked up a museum heist on her police scanner app. Cruz advised them to hurry since there wasn't much time left in their lunch period. She projected a stop sign reading "Stop right there! We don't need to fight!" in front of Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman. Ivy blew her pollen into Supergirl's super-breath and it spread to the Super Hero Girls. Lantern was unable to concentrate and work her ring. Luckily, Bumblebee used her growth tech to avoid the pollen and take back the stolen diamond. Green Lantern attached wings to it and sent it back to the museum while they rushed back to school. They bumped into Selina Kyle, Pamela Isley, and Harleen Quinzel as they headed inside. Cruz greeted Kyle and asked where she was coming from. Kyle replied they've been around and asked her but the bell rang.

On a Monday morning, the Super Hero Girls fought Giganta who sat on a highway. Green Lantern offered to share a vegan cone with her if she just walked away. She created a slide to evacuate citizens to safety while Wonder Woman restrained Giganta's hands with the Lasso of Truth. Mr. Chapin revealed the annual science fair was going to have a guest judge from Project Cadmus, Dr. Penelope Sieve. The girls went to hang out at Sweet Justice after school and after learning the news. Gordon deduced Cruz was going to do a project centered on environmental science. Cruz thought about trying to install solar panels on the school. Cruz met with everyone at Sweet Justice after Zee Zatara sent out a text. Zatara was troubled about ruining Beecher, Danvers, and Prince's projects. Cruz still invited her to help with the solar panels the next day. The next day, Zee Zatara met up with Cruz on the school's roof. Cruz unveiled solar panels infused with some Oan energy. They got to work installing them with magic and a wrench construct.

Just as Cruz talked about finding the right spot to get plenty of sunlight throughout the day, dark clouds eclipsed the Sun even though the forecast didn't predict it. Cruz wilted and asked Zatara if she wanted to go downtown with her and help her walk some shelter dogs. Zatara refused to give up. She cast a spell to shine to but the clouds only sparkled. Cruz turned into Green Lantern and made a giant Asian-styled fan to blow the clouds away but it didn't work either. Zatanna got a confusing text from Wonder Woman about cats. Green Lantern got excited and hoped it was about cat adoptions because so many needed homes and to be spayed and neutered. She made a lantern construct and they flew into the city. They noticed the Bat-signal projected on some feral cats. Batgirl looked up and shined up on them, happy they arrived. It was so dark, Lantern didn't see Bumblebee perched on her shoulder until she spoke and startled her. Wonder Woman called out to Lantern for her light. Catwoman mocked them from a roof.

An old woman called out for help. Lantern made a stair construct for Batgirl to run up to her window. Supergirl arrived and flew the woman across town. Zatanna cast a spell to immobilize Catwoman but her army of feral cats swarmed the girls. Lantern felt validated it was important to spay and neuter. Supergirl suggested harming them but Lantern shot the idea down. Instead, she made a laser light construction to divert the cats' attention. Batgirl opened an animal shelter and Lantern drew them inside then made a basket construct and trapped Catwoman. Back at Metropolis High, Green Lantern tried to make a wind power turbine construct but it failed against the cloud, too. She wilted again but Zatanna wasn't ready to give up yet and got Bumblebee to make enhanced silica gel beads to finally dissipate the cloud. Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Bumblebee were summoned to Zee Zatara by group text to help deal with Gordon's Sparrow.

Green Lantern and the others responded to Zatanna's text and battled Dr. Sieve in Metropolis High's storage room. Lantern made a sparrow construct to lift the Sieve-bot off the floor then Batgirl removed her stolen microchip. After Sieve was defeated, Green Lantern wondered who the new judge would be. At the science fair, Cruz yelled at Jordan about making a presentation about his trophies. She didn't think much of the extreme ego of making a project about his physical prowess. He was amused she noticed. While fighting the rest of the Sieve-bots, Lantern made recycle bin constructs to capture the bots with. She made a pillow construct for Sparrow after Supergirl mistook it for one of the bots and tossed it. After Zatara's school dance unveiling, Beecher was scared but Cruz promised they would get through it together. Prince speculated it was a traditional dance in preparation for a great battle. Danvers told her it was much worse that a battle. Prince thought she was alluding to a sacrifice. Cruz specified there would be no battle or sacrifice.

The night of the dance, Cruz protested the presence of meatballs while Danvers ate them. Zatara later cast a spell to make the meatballs and Cruz's sign vanish. She told them it was dance so they should be dancing. Livewire crashed the dance and forced everyone to keep dancing with a special frequency. Bumblebee was unable to stop dancing long enough to aim and shot her stingers all over. Green Lantern placed Bumblebee in a music box construct for her own protection. Wonder Woman twirled Livewire away. Green Lantern formed a tire construct around Livewire's waist and ended the incident. At the Fall Festival, Jessica Cruz protested the artificial formation of corn into rows. She lamented some of the corn damaged by Harley Quinn's pumpkins. Jessica Cruz held a dog adoption fair on the track field at Metropolis High. Donations collected from the fair would go towards keeping the local animal shelter open. The other girls took time out to help out.

Hal Jordan asked if there was a dog around who was extremely good-looking and charismatic like him. Cruz believed there were some total dogs for a total dog. Jordan became scared and hid behind a dog after Carol Ferris arrived. Ferris was too smitten with Princess Stella to be angry with Jordan and Cruz as she usually was. She claimed he was lucky she found something more adorable than him and asked for the adoption papers. Beecher asked Cruz what do with all the cats. Cruz was confused. There were suddenly cats everywhere annoying the dogs. Catwoman made her presence known. The girls went behind the bleachers to change into their super hero outfits. Green Lantern made a giant bone construct to lead dogs back into their pens. Catwoman made her move for the donation jar and dashed across the bleachers. Zatanna cast a spell and the donation jar appeared to them. Princess Stella took a liking to Lantern, which only enraged Ferris. She changed into Star Sapphire then accused Lantern of stealing her puppy.

Lantern denied it and made a trampoline construct to block her attack. She tried to hand off Stella but she kept leaping back into Lantern's arms. Sapphire shouted no one could love her puppy like she did and no one would. Catwoman returned and stole the donation jar again then released the cats and dogs. Star Sapphire fired but Green Lantern created a giant tennis racket construct. They repelled the second wave of heart constructs back at Sapphire. Sapphire fell to the ground and cried out in pain. Princess Stella ran to her and licked her. Sapphire was elated that Stella really did love her. Green Lantern pointed out she was telling the truth and didn't want her puppy. Sapphire interpreted her saying she wasn't good enough but stood down, claiming it was time to take Princess Stella on a walk. She flew away with her. Green Lantern called the fair a success since at least one dog found a forever home. She even called Sapphire a hero for adopting but Supergirl told her not to get too carried away.

Kara Danvers woke up on a Saturday excited for Mosh-A-Thon at The Lazarus Pit. As soon as she stepped outside, she bumped into Jessica Cruz, who was on her way to protest and petition toxic chemicals being dumped into the water by Lexcorp. Cruz guilt tripped Danvers into helping her protest at the ferry station near a Lexcorp sewage pipe. Cruz tried to get petitions from a boy and a girl but they were completely enthralled with a new Lexcorp app game called Pigeon Party. Cruz thought it was cute and decided to play a round. She soon became obsessed with it and stopped protesting. Supergirl encountered fish monsters and wondered where they came from then flew to the Lexcorp sewage pipe Jessica Cruz was protesting. Cruz was too busy playing the app to care. Supergirl protested and chained Cruz to her to jolt her back to normal. She changed into Green Lantern then they found Gordon. Lantern netted her to make Gordon snap out of it. Lantern made clapping hand constructs to snap Zee Zatara to her senses.

Lantern plugged up the sewage pipe with a cork construct but she didn't understand who authorized the dumping because she requested time from the Mayor's Office to gather petitions and got two weeks. The city worker was too distracted by the app to answer Lantern. Batgirl did some digging on the app and discovered from stats that the app was released by Lexcorp at 9:45 am then cross referenced with the city database to clean that was 15 minutes before the sewage pipe was activated. They went to Lexcorp. Lex Luthor turned a hamster into a giant with an eyedropper's worth of toxic waste. Luthor retreated to his helipad and fled the building while the girls evacuated the building. Wonder Woman lassoed a woman while Green Lantern made an grabber claw construct. Batgirl finished shutting down the app and the employees noticed the hamster. Lantern got an idea and made a giant hamster ball construct. The hamster happily jumped in.

After Super Hero Girls defeated a giant robot cyclops, they retired to the hideout with ice cream orders from Sweet Justice but got little too overconfident about being the best superhero team. Green Lantern declared they were the best team in the universe and all other known ones. Wonder Woman warned the others not to rest on their butt-kicking laurels and that they must always be prepared to fight. Sure enough, they were kidnapped by Control Freak, a supervillain from another universe and teleported to his TV realm to compete in a game show against an alternate version of Titans to determine who was the best superhero team in all universes. For the first question about what the best super power was, Lantern got the #3 answer for 10 points with "a Green Lantern ring." For the final question of "what is the most evil of all evil plans?", she got the #1 answer for 49 points with "stealing cakes." At the end of the game, Control Freak attempted to destroy them with a giant robot but they were saved by the Poop Patrol, a trio of superheroes who got poop-based powers by stepping on radioactive dog doo-doo.

The Super Hero Girls took up an invitation for a free vacation in space in another dimension. Green Lantern chose a bedroom with a view in the Space House. Green Lantern obliged the majority vote to skip the Muffin Wars credits and made a hand construct to press the remote control and skip to the next episode. Raven remarked her ring was pretty powerful. Lantern noted she could create anything with it and made a pizza slice construct. Beast Boy became enamored with the ring and wanted to try it on. Robin and Cyborg admonished him be being rude to someone he barely knew. He started talking in the third person and leaped at her but Cyborg grabbed him by the head and asked him was had gotten into him. Beast Boy believed the ring was making him crazy. Supergirl noted power could have that effect on people. Raven added especially to people of limited brain capacity. Lantern demonstrated her oath but Beast Boy stole the ring. They fought over it but the ring was tossed up and landed in Zatanna's magical top hat.

Zatanna could only pull out rabbits and despite her warning to never go in it, Beast Boy then Green Lantern jumped in. She followed along with Raven, Robin, and Wonder Woman. To avoid injury from the free fall, Zatanna levitated herself, Raven, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern. Robin landed face first into the ground. Zatanna warned everything was magical and to be careful what they touched. Wonder Woman sighted the power ring atop a mountain of cards. Beast Boy took off after it. Robin tried to lift Lantern's feelings of uselessness with an uplifting speech but he got interrupted by a man eating treasure chest. They continued on through a narrow path but Lantern stepped on a glyph and they were trapped inside a giant magic box and had to dodge all the giant swords being thrust into it. Wonder Woman pulled Lantern to safety with her Lasso of Truth. Zatanna levitated everyone to the other side but Robin fell on his face. They saw Beast Boy climbing the mountain of cards.

Zatanna summoned two giant white doves named Hocus and Pocus. They hopped on them and the birds quickly took off. Robin nearly fell off and clung to a tail feather. Lantern hopped off onto the top of the mountain but Zatanna warned it was unstable. Beast Boy snatched the Power Ring first and even bit Lantern as they fought over it. The mountain collapsed. Lantern dug frantically but Beast Boy stood up and put on the ring. It messed with his shapeshifting powers and he turned into a giant rabbitzilla monster. He then created a giant tater tot construct to Lantern's dismay. Raven presumed that was the limit of his imagination. He hammered Wonder Woman into the ground with it then Raven and Zatanna before they could incant and Robin mid-speech. Lantern recalled Robin's words and got an idea. She asked Raven to summon a portal so that she could reach inside the magic hat from the outside. Lantern then grabbed Beast Boy by the back of his neck and Wonder Woman dislodged the ring with her Lasso of Truth. Lantern then tossed Beast Boy out of hat, reduced to tiny size. Starfire was overcome with glee and gave the little Beast Boy a crushing hug. Lantern vowed to hold onto her ring's power tight and never let anyone take it away, especially Beast Boy.

During a sleepover ath the Gordon household, there was a sudden black out. Cruz recited the Green Lantern oath and brought forth her Lantern Battery for light then suited up and checked outside. At the generating station, she encountered Poison Ivy and Livewire but they weren't the cause of the situation. Lantern tossed some tire constructs over the latter. The power was still out. She flew to Sweet Justice where Barry Allen was working at on the night shift. She asked for a favor. He suited up as the Flash and left with her. She revealed she wanted to see the origin of fossil fuels. Flash ran at super speed to travel back in time. Instead of going 300 million years back in time, he only went 65 million so he could see the dinosaurs. To his surprise, Lantern revealed fossil fuels were really from died out plants turned into oil, coal, and natural gas from years of pressure and heat.

They returned to the present. She cleaned oil off a duck as she talked about pollution then demonstrated renewable energy like solar panels and wind turbines. Flash was amused to see some pigs being levitated by the power of a turbine. They headed to Wyoming where Lantern talked about geothermal power. He was surprised flash steam was utilized from water with temperatures higher than 360 degrees Fahrenheit. They observed Old Faithful then headed to a power plant to learn about binary steam. She noted it used cooler water. Flash was about to dive in until she clarified it was 225 to 360 degrees. Lantern emphasized the demand for energy was only going to increase and it was important to start using more renewable energy to protect the planet. She returned to the slumber party to discover Commissioner Gordon forgot to pay the monthly electricity bill but had power restored.

Mr. Chapin caught the girls coming to school late again. To teach them about taking their school time seriously, Chapin assigned them to sign up for an after-school activity and give a presentation at the end of the week on what they learned. If not, they would face suspension. Cruz went to Peacebuilders. While the Peacebuilders rallied for peace outside, Cruz noticed Pamela Isley leading her own club to save the trees. Cruz tried to infiltrate it. The other Peacebuilders didn't like that and wanted her to choose a side. She suggested merging them. Neither were interested. Cruz was kicked out of Peacebuilders. Isley informed her the club wasn't admitting new members at the time. The next morning. Chapin called everyone into his office and reminded them to find a club or they were suspended. At lunch, Gordon revealed she downloaded and cross-referenced information on every single club the school offers and created an algorithm to help them choose their activities. Gordon's reasoning was they were too good for the clubs they were kicked out of. It chose Debate Club for Cruz.

Lois Lane accepted Jessica Cruz into the Debate Club. Ever the diplomat, Cruz suggested why they needed such a club because they were on the same side. Lane presented the topic of debate: Should cell phones be banned in school? Lane believed they should not and cited the need for it during an emergency or when there was a breaking story. Cruz was convinced so much, she asked if she could change her stance. Lane tossed her papers in the air and took pro. She thought phones were distracting. Cruz instantly agreed with her. At Sweet Justice, Cruz noticed Prince had whipped cream on her nose and it looked like a clown. She didn't like the comparison, having failed to join Clown Club. Cruz thought being in Debate Club meant being mean. Gordon told her it was okay to disagree with people. Prince stated she learned many things from intellectual discourse with someone who has differing opinions. Cruz started to get it. The Super Hero Girls arrived at the Metropolis Museum and found Supergirl trapped in a Kryptonite laser prison.

Zatanna used what she learned in Robotics Club to free Supergirl by blocking the circuit with wood and turning Lena Luthor's rubber ducks against her then the girls confronted the Super Villains. The next day, they presented to Chapin about the power of friendship. He pointed out the assignment was for them to take school time more seriously. They shifted to what they did in their clubs and shouting Metropolis High. Chapin passed them. Cruz declared she was going to stick with the Debate Club. The city suddenly experienced a power outage after a teenage girl with powers named Jennifer Pierce downloaded the Metropolis High School app to register but she experienced a power surge. As a result the surge wiped out the city's cloud and everything linked to it like Bumblebee's suit or Batgirl's gadgets. Still hanging onto her pride, Batgirl declined a ride home from Green Lantern and pushed her moped along. They encountered two young looters. Still clinging to her tech, Batgirl was shoved aside. Lantern captured them in a prison construct and offered to hail Zatanna or Supergirl. Batgirl declined and continued on.

Bumblebee thought the power plant, Tween Titans or Livewire caused the outage. Lantern made a jet construct and flew to the Metropolis Water and Power Department. The Super Hero Girls went to Wayne Manor East to question the Tween Titans. Green Lantern remembered they once stole her power ring and created a giant pinata filled with giant candy. The last location they checked was the Metropolis TV Station. By the time Batgirl traversed the stairs from the lobby to the roof, the other Super Hero Girls were in mid-battle against Livewire. Batgirl struggled to get a gadget from her belt then tripped. Green Lantern shielded her with a brick wall construct just in time. Batgirl refused to take cover downstairs and endangered Bumblebee. Zatanna conjured a torrent of water out of her hat to short out the tower. Lantern guided the water with her ring into the satellite dish. Livewire emerged and was tied up with the Lasso of Truth. However, she revealed she wasn't behind the power outage and her powers were out of control since. Gordon used her ingenuity to ground Jennifer Pierce and restore power to the city.

The girls responded to a crime in progress at the Metropolis Boulevard of Cars. Green Lantern made a hand in a stop motion in front of the slender criminal. He blew a raspberry at her. She unleashed a giant net construct on him. The battle damaged the lot and Wonder Woman believed they needed more training. After the first day of midterms, Green Lantern and Zatanna commiserated over Wonder Woman. Zatanna conjured flowers then an ice cream cone and napkins from her hat. Lantern made clapping hand constructs. They soon encountered a hooded figure holding a pearl necklace. Lantern was stuck on making net constructs. The criminal was just Wonder Woman. She returned the necklace to a man and thanked him for letting her borrow it. She told Lantern to have more creativity. The Super Hero Girls and Katana battled Cheetah at the Greek exhibit of the Metropolis Natural History Museum. Green Lantern and Batgirl took care of returning artifacts to their rightful place and cleaning up. The Super Hero Girls found Cheetah in the history classroom with a thumb drive. She clapped two erasers together and used the smoke screen to get the drop on the girls then escaped.

After Barbi Minerva started showing up Prince, she intensified the girls' training. After a lot of training, the girls decided to take a break by setting Diana Prince up on a date with Steve Trevor at the Metropolis Pier. Kilowog noted Hal Jordan was late for training as usual. Cruz went to Sweet Justice and asked Allen if she saw Hal Jordan lately. Allen didn't but admitted he hasn't seen many people lately then asked if she wanted to order anything. Cruz took the booth down to the secret base. She was surprised to see everyone else and Katana already present and wondered if there was a new supervillain. Katana suspected all the disappearances wasn't a coincidence and something sinister was happening. Danvers compared the situation to when Katana took their souls with the Soultaker. Katana was aghast. Danvers clarified she agreed the cause felt supernatural. Wonder Woman and Green Lantern searched Metropolis Pier for Giovanni Zatara and Steve Trevor until Katana asked them to meet up at the casino.

The girls went to the school library and eventually discovered the artifact Cheetah used to make clones of herself was the Mask of Dolos. Wonder Woman and Katana strategized about dealing with the 20 or so Cheetahs.
