In recent months, it became all too clear that Superman wasn't enough and Metropolis still needed further super help. One morning, in Midtown Metropolis, a giant Green Glob Monster attacked. A new super, later dubbed Wonder Woman, arrived and attacked the monster, hacking its arms off with a sword. A cell phone recording of the battle was shown on a 24/7 Live breaking news bulletin. During a park opening, Powergirl presided over the ribbon cutting ceremony while the other girls fought the monster. It grabbed them and left them slimed and weary.
