Pamela Isley is the daughter of a botanist who created a one of a kind plant that bloomed once every 10 years. She saw her father for the last time when it bloomed. Almost 10 years later, Isley moonlights as Poison Ivy, a super villain who can control plants. She concluded Gotham City was a toxic cesspool and tried to save it from humans, whom she considered to be the vermin in the garden of life. She realized nothing green could ever grow in Gotham but felt she could still save Metropolis and return it to the glorious forest it once was by destroying all humans. Batman and Robin learned Poison Ivy was heading from Gotham City to the Metropolis Pesticide Plant and called Commissioner Gordon's Batphone to request back-up from him. Gordon's daughter, Barbara, answered instead and pretended to be him. Batgirl arrived at the plant alone and was delighted in the prospect of taking care of the situation by herself and impressing Batman. Batgirl walked the halls until the ceiling cracked open and vines attacked. Batgirl used her Batarangs to counter them and encountered Poison Ivy in a room. Ivy found it curious and almost thought she was Batman for a second. Batgirl asked if it was the costume or the ninja skills.

Ivy ordered her two venus fly traps to put her in the ground. Batgirl quickly neutralized them then rushed Ivy but was gassed. Batgirl eyed an exit and annoyed Ivy with a plant pun. Ivy chased after her. Batgirl continued with another pun. Batgirl stopped in a plant nursery and yelled out one more pun. She shined her Batsignal flashlight outside but it wouldn't appear in the sky. Ivy informed her it worked in Gotham because of the pollution. The plants in the nursery turned into giant vines and grabbed Batgirl. Hung upside down, Batgirl's Bat-Mite doll dropped onto the floor. Ivy was amused and teased her. Batgirl freed herself and stole the doll back. She proclaimed it was not doll, it was a bomb. Literally. She activated it and threw into a vat of pesticide. The explosion and spread of the chemicals destroyed all of her vines. Ivy was aghast. Batgirl emerged from the cloud with a gas mask on and dragged her out. Commissioner Gordon arrived and was surprised to see Batgirl dragging Poison Ivy outside. She almost gave away her secret identity but turned Ivy over into his custody.

Batman happened to call Gordon's phone and he apprised him of the situation. He never mentioned Batgirl and told him he didn't need to come anymore. Batgirl almost called him dad again but she improvised and deduced he was dad of a lucky kid if he had any. He wondered she wasn't Batman's sidekick and admitted he always thought she was more capable than Robin, whom he thought was a twerp. He noted he wasn't even on theme. Batgirl smiled. Ivy slipped out the rope she was tied up in and managed to escape while they were distracted. Gordon asked her to do him a favor and not tell Batman what happened. Ivy helped Harley Quinn with her plan to blow up the bridge. Ivy arrived on the bridge via her giant vines. Harley called her "Greenbean" and gave her a bomb to plant. Once the set up was done, Harley promised it was going to be 100 different kinds of fun. Bumblebee narrowly prevented Harley from detonating them. The other Super Hero Girls arrived. Green Lantern placed a prison construct over Ivy and Catwoman. Both teams regrouped then charged at each other.

During lunch at Metropolis High, a boy crumpled one of Jessica Cruz' Enviro-Beats into a ball and threw it. It harmlessly bounced off Pamela Isley's back and she didn't react at all. Cruz growled and the boy slinked away. Cruz felt sorry for Isley because she had no friends at all. Gordon clued her in and pointed out how Isley carefully placed her hair to cover her face, looked downward, and wore oversized baggy clothes to tuck her away from society -- she didn't want friends. Cruz thought that was nonsense and believed everyone wanted friends. She didn't think Isley met the right one yet. Zatara and even Danvers told Cruz to leave her alone. Cruz repeated there was no such thing as a lost cause. They all groaned. Cruz greeted Isley and startled her. She inquired about the plant in the pot. Isley said it's name was Phil and he complained if she left him home alone. Cruz talked about her peace lily that she forgot to water often. Isley told her she and Phil preferred to eat alone because photosynthesis was most optimal in silence. Cruz droned about how she liked silence, too. Isley took Phil and went to the quad to get more sunlight. Cruz thought that went well.

In science class, Cruz told Isley they were lab partners. Isley stated she had an agreement with the teacher that she didn't do lab partners. Cruz promised it would be a blast. Isley's chemicals exploded. Isley opened her locker and found a note left by Cruz that read, "Roses are red, violets are blue, I would really like to be best friends with you!" Isley was disgusted and closed her locker only to be spooked by Cruz. Isley stated violets were not blue, it was an unfounded stereotype. While Isley used the bathroom, Cruz tried talking to her from the stall over. She asked Isley if her shoes were made from sustainable rubber. Isley stormed off. During P.E. class, the students ran laps. Cruz caught up to Isley and invited her to the community garden this weekend. Isley told her to leave her alone and kept running faster but Cruz kept chasing after her. Cruz promised it would be fun. The girls watched from the stands. Danvers thought it had gone on long enough.

They staged an intervention and lured Cruz to a classroom with a fake ad about orphaned puppies. Diana Prince admitted it was a clever ruse then told her Isley was not exhibiting signs of receptive to her amicable advances. Cruz was oblivious and believed they were chatting all day and were becoming quite close actually. Zee Zatara shook Cruz and yelled at her to wake up and smell reality because she wasn't into her. Cruz calmly pushed Zatara off her and left the room. Gordon thought the intervention went well. Cruz set up a table at the school's front entrance and tried to drum up volunteers to help her save an ancient tree from being destroyed and prevent another Lexbucks Coffeehouse from being built. There were no takers. Cruz sat on the pavement and sighed. Isley noticed and asked Cruz if it was all true. Cruz confirmed. Isley asked to come along. Cruz' demeanor changed and she excitedly stood up. Isley asked what the plan was. They chained themselves to the tree. Isley noticed the removal notice stated the tree was going down the next day at 5 am.

By night, Isley was angry. Isley screamed for Cruz to stop as she sang her version of the Star-Spangled Banner. Cruz admitted she got the date wrong but Isley shushed her and revealed she was waiting all night for the tree to speak. Cruz didn't understand. Isley stated he wanted to tell a story. Cruz played along. Isley relayed the tree's life story out loud. It lived for centuries and cared for others then became the king of the forest for 300 years until man drove off the animals, killed the other trees, and built a city that became Metropolis. Isley asserted he now was the one that needed protection. Isley summoned vines to attack the demolition crew. A car was launched up in the air. Cruz made a trimmer construct and cut the chain. She discovered Isley was gone. Cruz switched to Green Lantern and made a shield. She was surprised to see Poison Ivy. Ivy launched three workers into the air. Lantern made a mattress construct to cushion their landing. Ivy told her to stay out of the conflict. As more vines appeared.

Lantern sliced them down. The vines grabbed jack hammers but Lantern made a brick wall. She vowed she wouldn't let the workers get hurt. The vines were relentless and Lantern was started to stagger. Ivy had the bulldozer lifted up and she had the vine throw it at the crew. Lantern made a shovel construct and batted the bulldozer away. The bulldozer ended up in the center of the tree, to Ivy's horror. The tree split in half and both sides fell to the ground. Ivy was reduced to tears and blamed Green Lantern for killing the tree. She declared she was unworthy of the color of life and vowed to make her pay. Ivy disappeared down a hole in the ground. The tree was chopped into logs and hauled away. Isley returned and declared people were a lost cause. Cruz stopped her and looked at an acorn. They planted it together. Cruz stated there was no such thing as a lost cause. Isley smiled. Cruz put her arm around Isley and believed it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Isley shoved her away and warned her not to push it. A sapling emerged from the acorn.

Isley joined Selina Kyle's crew. During lunch, Diana Prince observed how Selina Kyle had acquired several friends: Doris Zeul, Leslie Willis, Carol Ferris, and Pamela Isley. They shared conspiratorial looks with each other then Zeul tripped Garth Bernstein as he walked past their table. They all laughed then later met Harleen Quinzel. Selina Kyle drove while Doris Zeul knocked mail boxes off their stands with a baseball bat. The others laughed from the back seat. Gordon was very uneasy with what was going on and asked if the plan was to replace them with nicer, better mailboxes. Isley stated they were being destroyed because they were wooden stumps of death that people stuffed full of other dead trees. Kyle asserted it was fun. They all revealed their criminal alter egos. Quinzel, in return, revealed she was Harley Quinn. They went on a crime spree. At a jewelry store, Poison Ivy wrapped up the two guards in vines. At a museum, Ivy poked a vase off its pedestal with one finger. Giganta, Livewire, Star Sapphire, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy ate at a high class restaurant then wrecked more havoc.

They eventually caught the attention of the Super Hero Girls just as they planned. Bumblebee navigated Poison Ivy's vines. Bumblebee got a lock on Ivy but Harley whacked her with a fly swatter. Ivy and Bumblebee were at a stalemate until Harley caught the Super Hero Girls with the Lasso of Truth. Things fell apart after Batgirl then the police arrived. Catwoman ordered a retreat. Ivy's soul was taken by Katana. The Super Hero Girls found Ivy's body along with Livewire and Sapphire's. She and the other villains were stored in Barbara Gordon's bedroom for safe keeping. It was made to look like they were doing make overs during a slumber party. Commissioner Gordon fell for it. Katana later saw the error of her ways and freed every soul. The other Super Hero Girls came to in Gordon's bedroom but were face to face with the six bewildered villains. Catwoman stated they would never speak of it again. Everyone agreed.

Mr. Chapin proctored the Friday Home Ec class. Not knowing anything about Home Ec, he looked online and picked an egg challenge because it was the first thing he saw. He gave the class the task of keeping the egg safe until Monday and assigned pairs. Isley was paired with Cruz. Cruz hugged Isley very hard. Cruz couldn't wait to spend the whole weekend hanging out with Isley and protecting the egg. Isley quickly ate the egg. On the weekend, most of the class fought over the last egg at the Metropolis Pier. In the confusion, the egg rolled away. Pamela Isley picked it up and left. On Monday, Isley ate the last egg left in a sandwich at the start of class. The teacher assigned the pairs to watch one of Hammy the Hamster's babies each. They were all concerned. Isley broke the tension and burped.

Cruz reminded everyone Isley was with them so they couldn't use their powers if they wanted to during a weekend retreat in the woods. A crow landed on Isely's head and cawed. Even Isely questioned why she had to come. While Gordon broke off branches, Beecher picked flowers, Bernstein carved a canoe, and Jordan made a campfire, Isley could hear the screams of all the plants. Isley was horrified and angered by the murder of plant life by everyone. Cruz mistakenly offered her a veggie-kabob. Isley ran off into the forest and summoned Plant Zombies from the ground of various sizes and shapes. She had them march back to camp and exterminate all life. Once Gordon, Beecher, and Cruz were pulled into the horde, Poison Ivy was satisfied, declared it was the glory of nature, and began walking home. The next day, Isley was shocked to see them pull up to her in Mrs. Cruz' minivan. She feigned relief they were all still alive.

Isley went to Cruz's Getting to the Healing Emotional Anger Requires Training (H.E.A.R.T.) support group after school and learned to manage her searing hatred for all mankind. Some time later, Kara Danvers went to a meeting. Barry Allen, Carter Hall, and Pamela Isley were also in attendance. Cruz welcomed Danvers as a new explorer in their expedition of their soul. They walked over to hug her but Danvers threatened to take their arms off. Hall admitted he wasn't sure about it either at first, but ever since, he was able to face the anguish of his unrequited love. Isley claimed she learned to manage her searing hatred for all mankind. Allen revealed his temper got out of control when the pressure of school, work, and other stuff built up. He admitted one time he said "heck." Hall and Isley hugged him. Danvers wasn't moved. Cruz presented the Mirror of Forgiveness. They dragged her near the mirror. Everyone was supposed to hold hands. Allen and Isley held hands. Danvers refused to hold his.

Cruz handed a bowling ball to Isley. It was meant to represent how people held onto their anger and how exhausting it was. Isley dropped it and felt better. They hugged her. Danvers pointed out all the stuff that makes you angry is still out there. Cruz explained the group's purpose was change how people expressed that anger. Danvers countered what good was being angry if no one knew about it. She liked how she expressed her anger and wanted to be left alone. Isley went to visit heterokontophyta algae in a park lake. With her rage managed thanks to Cruz's support group, Isley thought the algae looked bluer than ever. A construction worker warned her to enjoy while it lasted because there was a concrete statue celebrating concrete being built starting the next day. Isley tried to manage her anger but she couldn't drop it and screamed. She turned into Poison Ivy and agreed Kara Danvers was right, what good was being angry if no one knew about it? She tossed an amoeba into the lake. It took in all the water and became a giant monster.

Poison Ivy directed her amoeba monster into the city to absorb everything in its path. Supergirl, Batgirl, Zatanna, and Green Lantern arrived. Supergirl broke out of the monster thanks to Lantern's safety scissors construct and hurled the spore inside it into The Sun. The rest of the monster dissipated. The water it was retaining drenched everyone. Ivy screamed in anger. Isley was one of five students who had to serve an eight hour detention on a Saturday. Hal Jordan tried to inspire everyone to get through it together. Danvers pointed out Isley was going for the exit. Isley revealed she was busted for keeping a plant in her locker and she was going to get it back. Danvers couldn't believe she was risking everyone's butts for a dumb plant. Isley took offense. Everyone took turns revealing why they were in detention. Garth Bernstein was about to reveal why he was there but Jordan cut him off and told Isley there all didn't belong in detention so they should just sit it out and shut up. Danvers cued him. Isley was gone.

Isley tried to pick the lock of the storage closet with a seedling but Jordan interrupted her. He changed his mind after he heard Officer Montoya. He ordered Isley to get on his shoulders and get in through the transom. She found it humiliating. She climbed in. At the last second, a vine grabbed Jordan by the wrist and pulled him through the transom. Montoya paused then continued her patrol. Jordan asked Isley where she learned the stupid rope trick from and guessed her father was a cowboy. He did not detect the sarcasm in her reply. Isley found her plant. Jordan found it ugly but tried to backpedal. Montoya returned. Jordan grabbed a golf club and hit a ball out the transom. It bounced off lockers, triggered a fountain, and knocked the door loose on Hammy's cage. Hammy ran past Montoya. Montoya believed that was the noise and gave chase. Jordan got cocky and leaned on a shelf. It broke and all the items fell off. Montoya opened the closet door and busted them. Chapin told everyone to thank Jordan and Isley for an additional Saturday detention.

Recalling the best part of his favorite movie, Chapin ordered everyone to write a 1000-word essay. Chapin took Isley's plant back to his office. Isley pinned the blame solely on Jordan and mockingly called him "Mr. Perfect." Jordan claimed he never said he was perfect. Danvers pointed out that was literally his letterman quote, "I am Perfect." Jordan remembered but pointed out he had problems, too. He admitted he was actually trying to change a grade because he failed his PE elective. He came to his senses and tried to undo it but it was too late. He mused at least Isley would be happy when report cards came out on Monday and everyone would see that "Mr. Perfect" failed. Isley stood up and blurted out "Toxicondenron isleyonis." Everyone was clueless. Isley explained that was her plant and thought she'd tell everyone so the "meathead" wasn't the only one spilling his guts then punched Jordan in the stomach. Bernstein tried to reveal why he was in detention but Zatara noticed the plant's name matched her last name.

Isley confirmed it was named after her father, a botanist who created her plant, and it was a one of a kind that bloomed only once every 10 years. She added the last time it bloomed was the last time she saw her dad, exactly ten years ago. Jordan realized that was why she was looking for her plant. Jordan decided to forgo sitting in silence and instead pull off a good old-fashioned plant heist. Everyone was down, to Isley's surprise. While Green Lantern distracted Chapin, Isley crawled into his office and stole back her plant. At the end of detention, the plant bloomed. Jordan stayed behind and marveled at it, too. He tried to ask her out but she shut him down, saying not in a million blossoming cycles. He wondered what stung worse: everyone finding out he got an "F" in a PE elective or he thought he made a new friend. Chapin discovered his laptop was destroyed by a plant and as a result, he lost the file with everyone's report cards. He wondered who would do it and declared he was friends with Green Lantern. Isley paused in the hall and raised her fist in triumph. Montoya interrupted her moment and ordered her to go home. Isley blew a raspberry at her.

One day she battled Batgirl on Metropolis High School campus around lunch. Ivy sent massive vines after her. Batgirl tried to text Diana Prince for help but she, Jessica Cruz, and Karen Beecher misinterpreted them and thought she became a vegan. Prince eventually realized she meant Ivy. Ivy, meanwhile, gloated atop Metropolis High's tower but was interrupted by a text from Harley Quinn. The text had emojis for bank, gun, bag of money, hour glass, and an evil happy face. Ivy was irritated and wished she wrote like a normal person. At home, Ivy introduced her plant Phil to the new recruits, other plants, on a book shelf then sat on the couch to watch her favorite show, a nature series. Just after she ate one pork rind, she heard Harleen Quinzel's laughter and groaned. Quinzel raced in hyper as ever and asked Ivy what she was doing and eating. She snatched one from mid-air to Ivy's annoyance. She was bored by the show, snatched the remote, and changed it to wrestling.

Ivy sent a vine to tap Quinzel's right shoulder. When she looked, the vine took the remote and gave it to Ivy. She turned it back to the nature show. Quinzel stretched out on the couch right up to Ivy then chewed her gum repeatedly. She took the remote and snack and changed the channel again. Ivy became angry and tossed Quinzel and changed the channel. Quinzel tackled Ivy and changed it. Ivy leg flipped her over the couch and changed it. Quinzel pulled Ivy by the hair. They fought behind the couch. She pulled Quinzel's left leg and changed the channel then launched a flying elbow. Quinzel used her mallet. Ivy pulled Quinzel down. The channel changed back and forth. On her back, Ivy used her legs and feet to propel Quinzel away and changed the channel. Quinzel sneaked behind her and bonked her with the mallet. She changed the channel. A vine grabbed Quinzel and rose to the ceiling. Ivy changed the channel again. Quinzel got out a pair of scissors and cut her way free. She drifted downward with her mallet ready.

Ivy had the vine take her upward. They collided and wrecked the room. They pulled at the remote at the same time and broke it in half. The next show on was "Make It Wayne." They threw the TV out the window. Poison Ivy kidnapped a scientist and lowered her into a vat of chemicals. Superman flew down the skylight and ordered her to release the scientist. Green Lantern Hal Jordan burst through a wall in a tank construct and ran over Superman by mistake. Pamela Isley saw Cruz enter a Matt's Vegan Cafe and conversed with her plant, Phil. Phil convinced her to go to the rally with Cruz. She remarked he was such a social butterfly. Isley observed Cruz make an order and shrieked at the murder of all the plants inside. She used her powers and grabbed the worker on duty with vines first, had a vine take away a fork and stab at a woman, chuck carrots at another woman, made Cruz' smoothie for a hand and grab at her head, a plant slammed a couple into their salads, and another vine dragged a man away who promised to never eat another salad. Isley was satisfied and decided to skip the rally and get some steaks.

During lunch period, Catwoman robbed a museum with Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn and got away with the world's largest diamond. They made their escape on Ivy's giant vine to Harley's delight. Ivy sniped at Harley not to bruise her plant. They landed on a roof across from Metropolis High but the Super Hero Girls cut them off. Ivy took advantage of Supergirl's super-breath to spread her pollen and distract the girls. Harley couldn't resist a good pun and called it "pollen" a fast one. Bumblebee was small enough to navigate the pollen particles and snatched the diamond away. With time running out on the pollen and lunch period, Catwoman and Ivy carried Harley away and jumped off the roof. Selina Kyle, Pamela Isley, and Harleen Quinzel ran into Diana Prince, Jessica Cruz, Karen Beecher, Barbara Gordon, Kara Danvers, and Zee Zatara outside Metropolis High. At Metropolis High's Fall Festival, pumpkin weigh-off, Isley made her pumpkin grow bigger but Kara Danvers arrived on a tractor with a giant pumpkin. Harley Quinn situated herself atop the bleachers and fired pumpkins with her bazooka. One hit Danvers' and blew it apart. She was disqualified then Isley. Isley cried foul.

The Super Villains raided the Metropolis Mega-Mart of TV sets but they were stopped by Supergirl. While the others scolded Supergirl for grandstanding, the villains escaped in Star Sapphire's car construct. They were unaware Lena Luthor wanted to join them. While the Peacebuilders rallied for peace outside Metropolis High, Cruz noticed Pamela Isley leading her own club to save the trees. Cruz tried to infiltrate it. The other Peacebuilders didn't like that and wanted her to choose a side. She suggested merging them. Neither were interested. Cruz was kicked out of Peacebuilders. Isley informed her the club wasn't admitting new members at the time. The Super Villains cased out the Metropolis Museum but Harley Quinn wanted to just rob it. Catwoman insisted the prize would arrive the next day. Lena Luthor approached them in her new warsuit and wanted to be their associate. They weren't interested. She promised she could help them and demonstrated her rocket arms. The rocket ricocheted off the sign and hit her.

The next night, the Super Villains broke into the museum and made their way to the Grand Hall. Catwoman directed everyone to the new Egyptian Artifacts exhibit. Ivy hated the fake plants. Catwoman was ready to head out but Luthor found them. She took offense to being called a "little girl" and trapped them in a laser prison. After Zatanna turned Luthor's rubber ducks on her, the Super Villains tried to sneak out but the Super Hero Girls confronted them.

Poison Ivy once fed Bumblebee to a venus fly trap. During a black out at the Gordon household, Green Lantern flew to the local generating station and encountered Ivy atop a giant vine but she wasn't the cause. Ivy asserted she was the OG power plant but Lantern clarified she wasn't talking about that kind of plant.

One day, Doris Zeul was angry about her low test scores and punched a tree in front of Isley. Jessica Cruz took her to Sweet Justice to try and cheer her up but Isley was horrified by the green smoothie. Soon after, Poison Ivy appeared in Old City just as Toyman's toy army appeared, too. Ivy's giant vines inadvertently aided the Super Hero Girls and they caught a stolen delivery truck that delivered the army. That night, Poison Ivy surprisingly came to the girls' aid and held Giganta down with her vines while they counterattacked. She declared Giganta would pay for the suffering of plants. Ivy wasn't interested in the celebration about the climax of the restoration project at the Bayfront Park. She still refused to help after the toy army torched some plants the night before the celebration.

Green Lantern eventually swayed her to fight in the name of the plants. They found the others under Old City just in time and used their powers to seal many shipping containers stuffed to the brim with Toyman's toy army. The two teams chased Toyman up a set of stairs. They realized they were in the Lexcorp tower where Lena Luthor revealed she was Toyman's ally. Luthor and Toyman piloted the completed Toyman Robot and attacked the two teams. Lantern and Ivy had the others lure the robot to them as they perched at a generator antenna and stunned it. With the robot vulnerable, the others attacked.
