Wesley's wife ran off with the pizza delivery man. His OCD started flaring up again and worsened. Surrounding himself with many pet cats, Wesley got up six to seven times a night to make sure the windows and doors were locked. During the day, his boss got on his case all the time about his productivity which was declining because he had a hard time urinating anywhere but his home bathroom. In danger of losing his house, his cats, and his collection of vintage toasters and vacuum cleaners, Wesley got on the "Ask Dr. Quinn" television program. Dr. Quinn joked about an old cellmate at Arkham Asylum had a hard time using the toilet in the middle of the floor. She transitioned to the standard legal requirement to inform him her doctorate was purely honorary and she wasn't a currently accredited mental health professional. Wesley acknowledged. Quinn asked him if she could call him "Wessie." He tried to say he wasn't but she cut him off and stated he could clearly benefit from therapy like she did. Wesley used his inhaler.
Quinn stated she learned stuff isn't handed to you, you have to earn it. The audience applauded. Quinn transitioned to how the road to mental wellness was paved with pitfalls then presented an obstacle course. She presented the challenge: make it to the finish line and he would win a full year of therapy from a professional. Wesley groaned. Quinn tried to inspire him. Wesley ran the gauntlet and fell into water while going rope to rope. He was hit by punching gloves that sprung from a corridor. With a bruised left eye, he continued and climbed across a net. He fell into the water. He tried jumping across a chasm from one giant ball to another. He lost his balance and fell into the water. He continued to get hit and fell down some flippers into the water again, losing the challenge. Quinn thought it a shame he had to go back to his crummy house and all those cats without getting the help he so desperately needed. Quinn signed off.
