The Kryptonians are a technologically-advanced race who seemingly met their end when their planet imploded. After Krypton reached its natural end, Brainiac arrived and stole the capital city Kandor along with several Kryptonians. Many deemed "redundant" were killed by probes. Several scientists studied robots left behind and gathered as much intelligence as they could on Brainiac. Zor-El issued a report to the Science Council and those on Argo began adapting Brainiac's technology in order to confront him and take Kandor back. Brainiac was attracted to the activity and took Argo as well. For over 30 years, the Kryptonians in Kandor lived in perpetual immortality. Superman was captured by Brainiac and beamed into Kandor. After meeting Kryptonians and Brainiac's sentries, Superman visited Zor-El and Alura. Once Brainiac was defeated, Superman and Supergirl restored Kandor on a habitable planet with a red sun, giving several Kryptonians a new lease on life.
