Metropolis is an American city renowned for its size and wealth and role as a global hub of anything from culture to technology. It later became the home of Superman. Metropolis was once miniaturized and stolen by Brainiac after he searched the guidance system in Superman's starship. As a representation of Earth, Brainiac found Metropolis to be unexceptional and redundant. Superman insisted it was his home, his heart, and his strength. After defeating Brainiac, Superman returned Metropolis to its proper place and size.
