After the Big Bang, Hyde formed a metahuman gang called Ruffpack. The other members were Ferret and Kangor. Ruffpack's thefts were always soundly interrupted by Static. After a failed guitar heist, the Ruffpack turned their energies on finding out Static's secret identity. Using a piece of Static's costume and Ferret's power, they tracked him to Shaquille O'Neal's hotel party. Virgil Hawkins managed to safely create a diversion and got Ferret arrested. While he was being transported to the state penitentiary, Ferret was rescued by Hyde and Kangor. They continued their objective and tracked Static to the old Freeman Community Center. Static and O'Neal teamed up to fight the gang in the Center's gymnasium and won. With Hyde in prison, the rest of the Ruffpack was absorbed into the Joker's new gang.
