Real Identity: James "Gentleman Jim" Craddock

An English gentleman abandoned his partner and their son James. James grew up impoverished and developed an inclination to crime and greed. In the 1800's, he became infamous for being a highway man (robber on horseback). Craddock later moved to America and was caught by the gunfighter duo, Nighthawk and Cinnamon. He was hung but managed to stay in this plane of existence as a ghost.
Craddock learned that he couldn't move on until his killer's spirits moved on. They turned out to be reincarnations of Prine Khufu and Princess Chay-Ara whose exposure to Nth Metal left them anchored to this plane. When Hawkman and Hawkgirl surfaced, Gentleman Ghost set his sights on them in the 1940's.
