The Justice League was formed to protect Earth from evil and act as a defender of basic human rights and the pursuit of liberty and justice. The six original members are Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and the Flash. After some time, a close friendship was formed between the founding fathers and most knew each other's secret identities while trust was still an issue for some.
The Justice League was nearly destroyed when Vandal Savage's Legion of Doom attacked its members with modified contingency plans stolen from Batman's files. However, the plan didn't account of Batman and Cyborg. Once the Justice Leaguers were saved, they converged on the Hall of Doom and defeated the Legion. They quickly adapted the Hall of Doom to the Watchtower and temporarily displaced Earth as a solar flare passed through it. In the aftermatch, Cyborg was voted in as a new member of the League just as Batman walked out it.
