Themyscira is an island occupied by the Amazonian woman warriors of Greek mythology. Wonder Woman is the daughter of Themyscira's current queen, Hippolyta. Themyscira was the setting of Wonder Woman's debut in Toyman's "Blvd Brawlers 2 JLA" video game before she was forced to battle Batman on a Batcave level. She removed her robe, grabbed a part of a pillar, and leaped into the Batcave. When Toyman activated her Amazon Rolling Thunder movie, Wonder Woman lassoed Batman, took him to the sky, then slammed him into a temple on Themyscira for the win. Lex Luthor and Circe invaded Themyscira in search of the Oculus of the Argo. Luthor attacked first. Wonder Woman suddenly arrived and defended Hippolyta but was blasted from behind by Circe. She was launched outside. Circe used her Hands of Hercules spell and formed two giant hands to grasp Wonder Woman. Luthor demanded Hippolyta's staff, an object capable of leading them to the Oculus. She refused and flipped Luthor but Circe shot her from behind. Circe picked up the staff and generated a portal to the Fallen Realm.
Superman and Batman soon arrived and freed Wonder Woman with a super punch and exploding Batarang combination. Hippolyta was surprised to see her daughter was friends with two men. Wonder Woman insisted they were her sidekicks. Hippolyta did not take to being addressed directly by them then performed a ceremony to open a portal to the Fallen Realm. She pounded a gong and yelled "Anoikto!" (or "Open!"). Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman went through the portal and returned victorious. The staff and Circe were turned over to Hippolyta. Hippolyta gave Superman and Batman the Amazons' most sincere thanks then quickly told them to get off her island. Batman wasn't surprised. For the first stop on his best day ever plot, the Joker boomed himself and Lex Luthor to the shores of Themyscira. Luthor suspected Joker wanted something but he feigned innocence. He tried to warn Luthor not to go any further. Sure enough, he was met with Wonder Woman's sword. Luthor realized where they were. Joker mocked the Amazon's rule about no men on the island then tossed exploding cards at her shield then boomed away with Luthor.
Hippolyta decided to initiate preventive measures to bar men from ever stepping foot on the island again, despite Wonder Woman's objections. The anti-man spell was quite literal and whenever a man stepped on any point of the island, the spell would activate and propel him into the ocean. Wonder Woman and Supergirl sparred on Themyscira one day. Felix Faust, arrived in spirit form, intent on stealing magical Amazonian artifacts but possessed Supergirl to bypass the anti-man spell. He collapsed a structure on top of Wonder Woman but she emerged and snagged him with the Lasso of Truth. Once grounded, the spell activated. Faust was ejected from Supergirl's body then launched into the ocean.
