Brainiac took his tank to the Arctic Circle in search of Superman's Fortress of Solitude. To avoid early detection, the tank burrowed underground. Brainiac searched around using the tank's periscope and triangulated the Fortress' location. After he observed Superman leaving, Brainiac dispatched his B-3 robot but discovered Superman was just a robot sentry. The tank emerged from the ground and took flight. B-3 brought the Superman Robot's remains to the roof where Brainiac studied it. He utilized the robot to infiltrate the Fortress and steal the Bottled City of Kandor. Brainiac returned to the tank and proceeded to return to his laboratory. He was interrupted with a proximity alert. The tank turned around and fired at Superman. He landed on the roof and tore the cannon off. Brainiac realized it was the Atom controlling a Superman Robot. Atom had the robot pull on B-3's tendrils to flip the tank over his shoulder but it stopped short and crashed down halfway. Brainiac activated a stasis field around Kandor. The tank landed upright somehow.
