Brainiac commands an arsenal of orbs that descend on his targeted cities. These orbs are capable of analyzing a single attack and quickly producing a counter measure against threats. Against Vixen, one generated an electric shock the second time she tried to punch it. After Cyborg blasted his laser cannon, several fired in unison back at him. Against Batman, it caught one of his exploding Batarangs with an arm and threw it back. Superman arrived at the scene and took out a swarm behind Brainiac. To try and prove himself, Plastic Man fashioned himself as a golfer and struck an orb with a club. The orb happened to land on Cyborg's head.
