Black Kryptonite is a variant that causes Superman's personality to split into two beings. While trying to transmutate Metallo's Green Kryptonite power source into lead, Firestorm couldn't remember the exact chemical formula and changed it into Red Kryptonite then Gold then Black. Superman was split into one with a black suit and one with a white suit. The black suited Superman cackled evily then tackled the white suited Superman just as Metallo lunged at them and fell on his face. Firestorm tried again and turned it Pink.
