Lobo lured Superman and Flash on a desert planetoid to capture the latter for a bounty. After Booster Gold's Old Fashion Hair Grease failed to slip up the Flash, Lobo tested it himself. He slid into a patch of four red cacti. The Cacti were living creatures, woke up, and beat Lobo up. The Flash phased through Lobo's cloaked boulder next. Lobo fired its blaster but it was deflected by the cloaking field and knocked Lobo into the cacti. They beat him up again.
