The Monsters of Eternity are various evil supernatural entities who were defeated by the Wizard Shazam and imprisoned on the Rock of Eternity in a petrified harmless form along the cavern walls. Black Adam usurped control of the throne and ousted the Wizard then freed the Monsters. He sent a trio of them after the Wizard on Earth. They disguised themselves in business suits and pursued the Wizard in Gotham City. Batman came to the Wizard's defense but his weapons and abilities were no match against them. The Wizard dispensed with his own disguise of a homeless man and cast a spell that teleported the Monsters away. They soon tracked the Wizard to a subway station but he found misplaced portal to the Rock and entered it, followed by Batman. The Monsters were unable to continue after them into the Void. Adam began freeing more of the Monsters and releasing them upon Earth to wreak havoc. After Black Adam was defeated, Shazam returned to Earth to find and recapture the Monsters.
