In a Halloween story told by Cain, caretaker of the House of Mystery, Klarion and Teekl tried to steal the Helmet of Fate and entrap several members of the Justice League in the House. After Klarion turned them into 10 year old children with altered memories, he led them into the House. He summoned several monsters inside the House - a Frankenstein monster, a Werewolf, two Vampires, and two Goblins. They chased after the children. The children managed to lock themselves in a room but everything on display were monsters, too. A sea monster, a rug, and an insect head on a mantle came alive and attacked them. During the battle over the Helmet, the first set of monsters caught up to Klarion and the Justice League. Batman used a sticky hand on the Helmet of Fate then swung it around and knocked several of the monsters out. Constantine used his horseshoe cuffs on the Werewolf. Dr. Fate placed the Helmet of Fate back on and banished the monsters through several portals.
