Nyorlath is the leader of the Brothers Djinn, five vile ghouls who once ruled prehistoric Earth. Defeated by The Wizard Shazam and Adam, they remained imprisoned on the walls of the Rock of Eternity for all time until Black Adam freed them in the present. Nyorlath, Rath, and Abnegazar flew to Calythos' second volcano and planned to reopen the fissure. Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman pursued them but Nyorlath cast a spell that temporarily took away their super powers. With no other choice, Batman sent out a distress signal. As the Brothers entered the volcano, Nyorlath smacked Abengazar in the head of starting the chant alone. All three cast the incantation together. To Nyorlath's dismay, the Justice League switched costumes in order to render his spell useless. Green Arrow and Swamp Thing uppercut him. Tied up in Swamp Thing's vines, the Brothers were knocked out by Constantine but Black Adam came out of the fissure and later transformed them into giant beasts. He attempted to chomp on Wonder Woman but cracked his teeth on her bracelet. She punched him into mid-air. Constantine moved a portal over Nyorlath and he went flying through.
