The Nidara are a race of sentient jellyfish-like beings who reside on a Class G planet. They do not communicate verbally but have some system in place. The Nidara efficiently mine Yellow Minerals and feed on them without feeling any ill effect. Another race, the Zoar, were not so lucky.
The Nidara tried to help get rid of the mineral but the Zoar saw it as an act of war. Hal Jordan was befriended by the Nidara and helped to end the planetary conflict. In the aftermath, the Nidara removed all traces of the Yellow Mineral from the Zoar's village. Some months later, the Nidara helped out Jordan's crew and provided them with enough Aurem to weaken Aya.
