The Blue Lantern Corps was born the day Ganthet and Sayd activated a prototype battery aboard the Interceptor. It flew off in search of a conduit of great hope and found Saint Walker. He accepted a ring and became the first Blue Lantern of the universe. Walker and Mogo then aided Kilowog in stopping the Red Lantern armada from entering Guardian space.
Ganthet joined the path of the Blue Lanterns and Odym was chosen as the Corps' homeworld. They soon recruited the second Blue Lantern Brother Warth. Ganthet went to work on constructing and activating a Blue Lantern Central Power Battery. In the meantime, Walker and Warth tutored Razer on the path of hope. Hal Jordan saw the Blue Lanterns as a potential winning edge against the Manhunters but it was discovered the blue energy could empower the robots, too.
The oath of the Blue Lantern Corps is, "In fearful day, In raging night, With strong hearts full as souls ignite, When it all seems lost in the War of Light, Look to the stars, For hope burns bright."
