Saint Walker was forced to flee his planet when it was destroyed by the Red Lanterns. In a dream, Walker learned if he went to a certain planet he would find a beacon of hope who would defeat the Red Lanterns. Walker believed in this dream and followed a path of hope. It turned out the planet was a sentient lifeform named Mogo. Through some means, Walker came to believe a "storm was coming" and only those "true of heart" would be needed. This may have been revealed by the arrival of Shyir Rev's Green Power Ring. Soon after, Walker met Razer. Despite Razer's offensive advantage, Walker easily defeated him with unarmed combat. Walker temporarily paralyzed Razer, urged him to abandon his rage, and handed over Rev's ring. When Razer asked if he was the new Green Lantern, Walker simply stated he "traveled a different path" and disappeared just before Hal Jordan arrived. When Jordan's group were formally introduced to Mogo, now a Green Lantern, Walker watched from afar.

Concerned about the savior mentioned in his dream, Walker asked Mogo about it. Mogo simply instructed him to climb a steep summit and to avoid a path of vengeance. When Walker reached the top, no one else was there. He refused to give up on hope and vowed he would still fight. Ganthet's Blue Power Battery appeared to Walker and issued him a Blue Power Ring. Walker and Mogo then flew to the Maelstrom and helped Kilowog prevent the Red Lantern armada from invading Guardian space. Thanks to Kilowog's hunch, Walker supercharged one of Mogo's blasts and neutralized the entire fleet. Saint Walker settled on Odym and encountered Ganthet. Together, they strived to start up the Blue Lantern Corps. A second Lantern named Brother Warth was recruited and they both became mentors of Razer, who wanted to move past his rage. Walker was also later reunited with Kilowog when Hal's team arrived in search of help against the growing Manhunter threat.
