The Master Alchemist is an eldery Amazonian who prides herself on being able to fix anything. Big Barda, afraid of going back to Belle Reve Penitentiary and Juvenile Center, accidentally struck Wonder Woman's Wonder Shield with her Mega Rod and broke it. Wonder Woman convinced Batgirl, Supergirl, and Bumblebee for an emergency trip to Themyscira to ask the Master Alchemist for help. Alchemist considered it an honor and got to work immediately. She finished by the time Wonder Woman gave her friends a tour of the palace. As they departed Themyscira, Alchemist was abducted through a portal in her workshop. Eclipso ordered her to combine the ruby from the Tiara of Triumph, one of Katana's shuriken, Barda's Mega Rod, and Star Sapphire's Violet Power Ring into a scepter of ultimate power. The Master Alchemist refused. Eclipso enthralled her with the Black Diamond.
The Master Alchemist soon completed the Scepter but it still needed Supergirl's Mnemosyne Crystal to charge it up. She accompanied Eclipso and Dark Opal to Booster's Gold Mine after Hippolyta, Commissioner Gordon and the Kents were kidnapped and held hostage for the crystal. Hippolyta was shocked to see the Alchemist. She tried to plead to her but Alchemist stated she served darkness. After Bumblebee focus a sonic blast through the Black Diamond to free Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Batgirl from a prison construct, they were freed. Master Alchemist was freed from the diamond's influence, as well. She immediately felt regret about what she had done but Hippolyta assured her it was all right. She was later seen in attending the Party of Plenty but it was broken up by Ares.
