Miss Martian is from Mars and tends to go invisible a lot, where it be from elation at getting an A+ or from meeting someone new for the first time. Miss Martian is known to be really shy and never brags about her powers. She loves music and hopes to one day share her songs with the world, but suffers from stage fright. She has psionic powers, but rarely uses them because she doesn't like prying into people's minds, and can shapeshift. She is roommates with Frost, Star Sapphire, and Lady Shiva. During Bumblebee's tour of the school, she introduced Wonder Woman to Miss Martian and Starfire. Miss Martian turned invisible. Bumblebee informed Wonder Woman she was shy. Miss Martian is a member of the Model United Planets Club, Glee Club, and Citizens Helping Extraterrestrials Succeed Society (CHESS). Her CHESS buddy is Bumblebee. She attended the party celebrating Wonder Woman's first supervillain defeat.
Miss Martian was sent into Frost's bedroom by Star Sapphire and Lady Shiva to use her telepathy and figure out why Frost was so angry. Frost didn't take kindly to having her mind read. Miss Martian learned she was angry because she was cold. Frost yelled she needed heat to recharge her powers and threw icicles. Miss Martian melted them with her heat vision. Frost got an idea. Back in the common room, Miss Martian used her heat vision on a chunk of ice to create a sauna-like environment for Frost. After Sapphire whined about the heat, Frost thanked Miss Martian but accidentally froze her shoulder. She was spooked and turned invisible. On the day before semester finals, Miss Martian got excited about the invite to Harley's party and turned invisible. During the lead up to Hero of the Year, Miss Martian helped decorate campus and later guard duty on the day of. When Wonder Woman and Bumblebee, two nominees, were absent from the start of the ceremony, Principal Waller asked Lois Lane to stall. Lane spotted Miss Martian and tried to interview her. She turned invisible and Harley interrupted.
Miss Martian was set to join Wonder Woman's slumber party on Themyscira. However, Batgirl's Batjet went missing. Supergirl asked Miss Martian if she turned the jet invisible. Miss Martian replied that she could only make herself invisible, not other things. Wonder Woman decided they had to divide and conquer to find the Batjet. Supergirl elected herself and Miss Martian to check Metropolis to her surprise. Miss Martian tried to downplay the situation and thought a quiet night would be better anyway. Supergirl proposed they should check Capes & Cowls Cafe for a lead. They found nothing but Beast Boy joined their team. Beast Boy, in hawk form, noticed something odd going on at the Portal Coffee Shop. It was a Battle of the Bands! competition. The shop's bouncer mistook the trio as contestants and showed them the band entrance. Supergirl played along and stated Miss Martian was their lead singer. Miss Martian was scared but Supergirl inspired her to believe in her super self. The crowd was impressed with Miss Martian's singing.
The Battle of the Bands went out of hand. Miss Martian wanted to solve things peacefully and became invisible, confusing Magpie. Magpie swung her guitar around. Ivy, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, Katana, Hawkgirl, Flash, and Bumblebee came to their aid. Miss Martian was on Wonder Woman's team and they went to the Underworld to rescue Etrigan. Miss Martian was spooked by the geysers of flame triggered by stepping on a red stone. They found Etrigan but Trigon, lord of the Underworld, didn't like their intrusion and imprisoned them, too. Miss Martian, however, was immediately spooked by Trigon and became invisible and thus, avoided capture. After Etrigan told everyone about his past, Miss Martian reappeared. Bumblebee directed her to a set of stones. Miss Martian pressed them and released everyone. Wonder Woman's team joined Batgirl's in Smallville to take back the Batjet. Miss Martian, Hawkgirl, and Beast Boy were blown away by Black Condor's wind powers but Harley and Ivy captured him in corn stalks. Once the Birds of Prey were taken away by the Smallville Special Crimes Unit, the girls went to Themyscira for their slumber party.
Wonder Woman invited Miss Martian to spend the summer with her at Mount Olympus. Remaining invisible, Miss Martian politely declined on account it sounded crowded. Halfway through the break, Miss Martian left summer school with Cyborg and Cheetah. When he revealed the city was under attack, she turned invisible. During a battle against Ares, Hawkgirl and Miss Martian applied the final blows and hit him in the back to secure his defeat as he fell to the pavement. As Ares continued his rampage, Miss Martian decided it was important to find the Amulet of Harmonia. She revealed to Batgirl and Flash that she had psionic powers then used them to find the Amulet. She located it in Catwoman's vault in her dorm room. Batgirl and Miss Martian took off in the Mobile HQ while Flash ran ahead. The safe was outfitted with a visual scanner that would only clear Catwoman. Miss Martian surprised them again and revealed she could shapeshift. She admitted she didn't like to brag. The scanner opened the safe and Flash ran the Amulet back to the battle.
Firefly devised a plan to use Miss Martian's mind control powers for his own ends. Miss Martian fled from him in the Metropolis Docks and hid in the maze of cargo. She tried to reassure herself she could take on villains and didn't have to go invisible when she was scared. She became invisible. Mera happened to be at the docks, too, and searched for her. Miss Martian pulled her aside then revealed herself and explained the situation. Mera affirmed she would help her but Firefly found them and opened fire. Miss Martian came to the rescue of a dock worker trapped in the fire and carried him to the other workers. They heeded her words and evacuated. However, Firefly found her and demanded her compliance with his plans. She refused. Mera and Stormy rose up from the bay in a giant standing tidal wave. Mera blasted Firefly through several containers and knocked him out. In search of a way to say thank Mera, Miss Martian approached Wonder Woman for an idea. Miss Martian led Mera upstairs to a balcony in the dorms and revealed a pool party.
Miss Martian was the stage manager for A Midsummer Night's Dream. Raven cast a spell of good luck but it had the opposite effect on the cast. Star Sapphire, Harley Quinn, Hawkgirl, and Batgirl were stuck to the backstage. With little choice, Miss Martian shapeshifted into each of her friends and performed their roles to a standing ovation. Miss Martian didn't like the spotlight, turned invisible, and left the auditorium. She heard the applause from outside, flew up the the sky, and turned invisible. At midnight, Miss Martian checked in on Bumblebee and startled her instead. Bumblebee explained she was working on a touch math problem given to the Math Club for extra credit. She suggested she take a break. Bumblebee decided to get some sleep and start over when she woke up. Darkseid sneaked into Bumblebee's dorm and trapped her consciousness in her sleep cycle. Miss Martian found her unresponsive and called in Raven for help. Raven realized she could be trapped in her mind forever if they didn't enter her dream and free her.
Miss Martian elected to go in. She found Bumblebee working on an equation at a perpetually unending chalkboard. A pair of giant red eyes appeared and blasted at Miss Martian. After two blasts, Miss Martian had enough. She surrounded herself in a yellow energy sphere and attacked. Darkseid fled from Bumblebee's mind. Miss Martian went after her and they woke up. Miss Martian mentioned the red eyes. Raven realized those were the same eyes she saw when she went to a dark future earlier in the school year and mused it was drawing near. Harley surprised Miss Martian on her birthday with an exploding cupcake. Miss Martian didn't want the spotlight on her but soon Grodd came on the p.a. and announced it was her birthday. Harley confessed she told one gorilla despite being sworn to secrecy. She overheard Supergirl, Wonder Woman, and Katana planning to unleash poison gas on the city that night and jumped to the conclusion they were under mind control or replaced by robots. She followed them to Centennial Park and was zapped by electric lines, caked in mud, and had a bird nest drop on her head. She confronted the trio, only to learn it was a ruse to get her to go to her own surprise birthday party. She disappeared after Harley suggested karaoke. Wonder Woman was sure she would be back because they got her a really good cake.
