Here's the buzz on Bumblebee! Her ability to shrink makes her the perfect Super Hero to secretly find out what Super-Villains are up to without them knowing. It's how she makes sure her team is never surprised by their plans. The social butterfly's top three traits are energetic, outgoing, and being a tech genius. Bumblebee can fire sonic blasts to 'sting' unsuspecting Super-Villains. Most of the time these blasts are all the distraction she needs for villains to drop their guard and lose their balance. One of the perks of Bumblebee's technologically advanced super suit is that it makes her very strong. She has to bee careful though, it comes with a lot of responsibility. As luck would have it, the microchip in Bumblebee's earbuds had a small side effect that gives her shrinking powers.
Bumblebee is a Metropolis local. She and Lois Lane attended Metropolis Middle School, home of the Manatees. She even built her own special tech suit. A microchip in her earbuds have a small side effect that gives her a shrinking ability. The eletrical blasts the suit can fire are used to "sting" super villains. The suit also makes her super strong. The one weakness of the suit is the battery pack has to be routinely charged. Bumblebee is happy-go-lucky, is always up on the latest trends and music, is the life of the party, one of Super Hero High's smartest students, and goes out of her way to make new students feel at home. Bumblebee is the ambassador to new students at Super Hero High and a member of the Metropolis Junior Detectives Society which she founded, Glee Club, School Internet Radio Station, and Citizens Helping Extraterrestrials Succeed Society (CHESS). She's the night DJ on the radio and CHESS buddies with Miss Martian.
One special day, she shrank down and flew around the newest student, Wonder Woman, but was caught. She returned to normal size and was introduced formally then gave Wonder Woman a map. They proceeded inside but Hal Jordan opened the door for them. Wonder Woman mistook his hand sticking out for a chance to spar. After Wonder Woman tossed Jordan, Bumblebee told her about a handshake. She took Wonder Woman on a full tour of the school and introduced a few classmates on the way around like Cheetah, Hawkgirl, Starfire, Miss Martian, Beast Boy, Katana, and Poison Ivy. The tour ended at Wonder Woman's dorm room, where they met her roommate Harley Quinn. She later earned Hero of the Month a month after Poison Ivy.
During midterm finals, Bumblebee worked with Wonder Woman, Poison Ivy, and Harley Quinn to save Lucius Fox and the Amethyst. Unable to release Fox from his malfunctioning Invisible Jetpack, Bumblebee shrunk down. She was unable to catch Fox but Quinn threw out an oversized whoopee cushion for him. She attended the party celebrating Wonder Woman's first supervillain defeat. Bumblebee flew to the DJ booth and started up some music. Bumblebee participated in a Save the Day alarm regarding Killer Croc. She remained small and pelted him with blasts. After Supergirl crashed into the Super Hero High cafeteria, Waller had Bumblebee shrink down and check for any additional microscopic infrastructure damage. About a week later, she also participated in the Save the Day alarm about Giganta. Thanks to Cheetah's taunt, Supergirl lost her focus and accidentally shot Bumblebee in the leg with her heat vision. Harley Quinn took Bumblebee to safety. During Granny Goodness' take over of the school, Bumblebee briefly fought Speed Queen.
For midterms in Weaponomics, Bumblebee invented several hi-tech accessories instead of just one: the Boing Boots to enhance jumping, the Weapon Homing Device to retrieve lost weapons remotely, and the Heat Vision Enhancing Glasses. At every turn, Frost told Bumblebee she couldn't use them on account she could fly, didn't use a weapon, and didn't have heat vision powers. Despite the irregular request, Fox allowed Bumblebee to present at the Metropolis Docks in an actual battle against King Shark. It turned out Harley wore the boots, Katana used the homing device with her sword, and Miss Martian used the glasses. Bumblebee joined in with super sonic blasts. The team defeated Shark with ease. Bumblebee stated to best way to aid her fights were to accessorize her team. Fox gave her an "A" for technology, technique, and teamwork. Batgirl, Bumblebee, and Ivy overheard Frost's sneezes and investigated her dorm room. It was totally frozen. They spent the rest of the day and the entire night tending to Frost. Bumblebee tried giving her honey tea. By the next morning, Frost was back to normal and in good spirits again. Batgirl, Ivy, and Bumblebee, however, caught her cold.
The day before semester finals, Bumblebee crammed with the Flash and Starfire. She was too hungry and set off for a honey smoothie from the Capes & Cowls Cafe but happened upon a robbery in progress. Killer Croc was trying to steal a stack of tuna fish sandwiches. Bumblebee took him down with her sonic blasts but accidentally shot the smoothie machine. She determined the Solar Reconflabulator would repair it. She returned to campus to borrow it from the Weaponomics Supply Closet but Lucius Fox was already gone. After running into Beast Boy, she took the device anyway intent on returning it before anyone realized it was gone. After she fixed the machine, Steve Trevor made her a honey smoothie on the house. While flying back to school, she fell prey to Lex Luthor's Smell-Lure. Thinking she smelled honey cookies, cake, and latte, she investigated but was ambushed in an alley by Luthor. He removed her battery then netted her. The next morning, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Bumblebee, Katana, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy defeated Luthor as a team. Bumblebee flew into Luthor's chest plate and blasted up the circuitry. The girls raced back to school but they were late. They convinced Waller to pass them with video of them fighting Luthor.
Bumblebee was one of the nominees for Hero of the Year. On the Wednesday evening before the event, Bumblebee joined Batgirl in a late night search for an intruder. Bumblebee made the mistake of going into Beast Boy's locker and was overwhelmed by an old pumpernickel sandwich. They eventually found Big Barda who turned out to be a new student. The next day, Wonder Woman went to Themyscira with Bumblebee, Supergirl, and Batgirl to get her shield repaired. Bumblebee loved the look of the royal spa but was taken aback by Wonder Woman's trophy room. When Wonder Woman was presented with the Tiara of Triumph, a Shadow Demon appeared and stole the ruby off it. The shadow shoved Bee and damaged her suit in the process. As the girls chased the shadow, Bumblebee's suit failed but luckily Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Batgirl broke her fall. They returned to school and learned a super villain came out of the Amethyst and attacked Hawkgirl. Later on, Batgirl went to Bumblebee's room to drop some hero history homework she left behind.
Bumblebee revealed something was wrong with her battery and she didn't have enough power to alter her size. She was stuck in her shrunken form. Batgirl gave her a pep talk about doing the impossible one more time. Bumblebee tagged along with Batgirl to search the city for Opal with Wonder Woman and Supergirl. Bumblebee's battery continued to drain. Despite Dark Opal's orders for only Supergirl, Batgirl, and Wonder Woman to show up for an exchange, Bumblebee stowed away on the Batjet. As predicted, it was also a trap. Bumblebee managed to steal Eclipso's Black Diamond without her noticing. She deduced if the diamond could create, it could destroy. She used the last of her battery power to fire a sonic blast through the Black Diamond at the cage construct around the girls. It worked and they were freed but Bumblebee was powerless and stuck in her tiny size. Bumblebee hitched a ride on Batgirl for the trip back and subsequent battle. After Dark Opal was secured, Bumblebee requested to be put on the ground due to motion sickness.
In the aftermath, Bumblebee discovered a piece of Supergirl's Mnemosyne Crystal. She realized the crystal might have been a viable power source for her suit and speculated they could make a battery to replicate it after studying it to see how it generated power. Supergirl overheard and cut a sliver with her heat vision. Batgirl used some tweezers and Beast Boy's monocle to place the sliver in the receptacle of Bumblebee's suit. It worked and she returned to normal size. Ultimately, Bumblebee's sacrifice was the deciding factor and she won the Hero of the Year award. It was announced at the Kent Farm post-gala dinner with her parents present.
On a Friday, Bumblebee was set to join Wonder Woman's slumber party on Themyscira the day after one of her deejay shows. The Batjet was stolen, however. Bumblebee shrank and discovered a strand of pink hair in the bushes. Batgirl's tech determined it was synthetic and came off a wig. Bumblebee shrank down and gained them access to the back stage area of the auditorium. Ravager didn't take kindly to the intrusion and had Mammoth and Star Sapphire attack. Batgirl explained the situation. Ravager was horrified to see the costume room in disarray. They found Etrigan's copy of "The Odyssey" and checked his classroom, which was also a mess. Bumblebee was the first to detect the presence of sulfur. Ivy, Batgirl, Harley, Wonder Woman, Katana, Hawkgirl, Flash, and Bumblebee came to the aid of Supergirl's team at the Portal Coffee Shop. Bumblebee took out Black Condor with her stinger blasts. Wonder Woman was still stressing out so Bumblebee reminded her to delegate.
Bumblebee was on Wonder Woman's team and they ventured into the Underworld to save Etrigan. Bumblebee figured out the carefully laid out red stones were part of a trigger mechanism that set off geysers of flames. They overheard Trigon, lord of the Underworld, vowing Etrigan would pay for his crimes. Raven, Trigon's daughter, came to their aid and showed them the path to Etrigan. Trigon, however, appeared and put them in cages, too. Etrigan explained his past. Miss Martian reappeared after turning invisible from fright. Bumblebee directed her to a set of stones and everyone was freed. They raced back to Portal Coffee Shop before the portal closed. Wonder Woman's team joined up with Batgirl's in Smallville to recover the Batjet from Black Canary, Black Condor, and Magpie. The girls took the Batjet to Themyscira and had their slumber party. Bumblebee opted to write a dinosaur book report than go on Intro to Prehistory's field trip to the Jurassic Era. Time travel didn't agree with her stomach and she got motion sickness just from thinking about it.
The field trip to the Jurassic Era affected and changed the timeline. Super Hero High was now Savage High. Bumblebee was the student ambassador but had no friends. Vice Principal Grodd ordered her to take Katana, Wonder Woman, Beast Boy, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Supergirl indoors. Bumblebee thought they were new students and didn't know who they were. Batgirl soon deduced they had to find Liberty Belle and fix the future. She hid them behind a poster of Principal Savage when the Anti-Savage Insurgency alert sounded off and lied to Star Sapphire's group to cover the girls. Bumblebee stopped Wonder Woman from going after Belle and suggested they should strategize. They went into an old room that was once used by the Junior Detectives. Bumblebee thought the club sounded awesome but investigative work was strongly discouraged. Bumblebee used her clearance to lead Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Beast Boy, Katana, and Ivy to insurgency detention to rescue Belle but Cheetah discovered Ivy.
Gizmo blasted Bumblebee in the back but Wonder Woman came to her aid and deflected a second shot back at him. Bumblebee was shocked. No one ever helped her before. Bumblebee went into the vents and used her sting blast to destroy several Power Drainer panels in the detention hall. Beast Boy, Supergirl, Katana, and Poison Ivy were able to escape. They reunited with Wonder Woman and Bumblebee and headed off to rescue Liberty Belle. Bumblebee knew she couldn't come along with the supers on their Time Machine school bus because of the rules of time travel. Liberty Belle informed Wonder Woman that once they fixed the rift in time, the new timeline would cease to exist and both Bumblebees would merge. She thanked Wonder Woman for being her friend but Wonder Woman admitted she was the one who taught her how to be a friend. They hugged and declared they were best friends forever no matter what timeline they were in. Bumblebee held off Principal Savage, Red Tornado, and Wildcat with her stings while the bus jumped back to the past and set things right.
Bumblebee tied with Wonder Woman as "Most Likely to Save the Day" in the Super Hero High School Yearbook. She was also voted "Best Super Suit" and "Neatest Room." Bumblebee teamed up with Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Batgirl to clean up the city of crime before they left on summer break. She came to Wonder Woman's aid and disarmed Aliki, of the Double Dare twins, of her bow. Together, they captured the twins. Just after they got the all clear, they chased after a speedster who turned out to be Hermes. Bumblebee was shocked to learn he was Wonder Woman's half-brother and their father was Zeus. She couldn't turn down the chance to go to the most exclusive palace on Earth and accepted Wonder Woman's invite to join her at Mount Olympus for the summer. She was impressed with Zeus and his lightning bolt fingertips after his handshake zapped even her. She found Zeus' parlor tricks and jokes kind of amusing unlike his children who seen and heard them before for the hundredth time or so.
Wonder Woman wasn't pleased to learn Ares was also her brother. Bumblebee tried to reassure her it was common for all families to have one bad apple then talked about her cousin who tried to rob a karate studio full of black belts. As summer went on, Apollo was impressed with Wonder Woman and Bumblebee's improvement in their archery skills. Halfway through the summer, Zeus decided to hold a capture only hunt on family game day after Ares made the suggestion. He released the Chimera, his favorite pet, and revealed whoever returned it to him would receive a gift. Wonder Woman, Bumblebee, and Siracca teamed up rather than go on their own like the others. Siracca used her wind powers to track the Chimera to some bushes. Bumblebee tried to talk it down but the Chimera tried to attack. Bumblebee flew away and Chimera bit itself. Wonder Woman carried the Chimera back to Zeus. After it was taken away to be healed, Zeus gave the trio a gift each. Bumblebee got Cancelling Headphones that not only blocked out noise but spells, bewitchments, and Sirens.
Ares and Strife revealed they planned on spreading war to Metropolis. With the Shield of Ares in their possession and its only weaknesses, the Golden Olive Branch and Amulet of Harmonia, were hidden, they felt unstoppable and enthralled Apollo, Aphrodite, Demeter, Hermes, Janus, and Siracca. Bumblebee got an idea to make a message for Supergirl. Hermes was still bound to deliver it. On Bumblebee's word, Wonder Woman, Katana, Batgirl, and Beast Boy grabbed hold of Hermes. They were all teleported to Smallville. After explaining the situation to Supergirl, Big Barda, and Lady Shiva, they quickly departed for Metropolis. During the battle, Strife used her power on the supers. Bumblebee hid under a Capes & Cowls cup and avoided her sway. She tried to talk Wonder Woman out of fighting Supergirl to no avail. Ares and Strife again asked Wonder Woman to join their side but she refused and turned her back on them. Ares blasted her but Bumblebee flew in front and took all of it. Wonder Woman returned to normal and retreated with her.
While trying to find a safe place, they found Siracca and Hawkgirl. Hawkgirl discovered the Shield and Strife's power was vulnerable to a third weakness, philia. Wonder Woman realized it was what they called the bond of sisterhood between Amazons on Themyscira. Siracca believed that's how Wonder Woman broke Strife's hold on her. Wonder Woman, in turn, believed that's how Bumblebee brought her out of the sway. Wonder Woman tied the Lasso of Truth on her wrist and started vowed to do anything to ensure her friends' survival. The Lasso surged and chipped the Shield. Wonder Woman freed everyone from Strife's hold. Ares lost his power and shrunk to a tiny stature. He fled the city with Strife. Wonder Woman and Bumblebee returned to Olympus. Bumblebee received a tonic from Apollo that helped heal her wounds. At the end of summer, they went to Themsycira to visit Siracca where all Syrian refugees were living until their homeland was safe again.
Bumblebee found Wonder Woman sulking in a Super-Buy unable to defeat or appeal to three drawings of herself. Bumblebee reminded her of something Coach Wildcat once said - when facing an enemy that's stronger, use their power against them. Bumblebee shrunk and stole two inescapable Lassoes of Truth off the drawings. The duo went into the video games section. Bumblebee quickly created an avatar of Wonder Woman in the Craft of Warworld booth. The drawings fell for it and entered then Wonder Woman and Bumblebee wrapped up the booth with the Lassoes. The Wondies were unable to escape. Bumblebee was on her own against animated Creature Commandos while her new allies, the Wondies, argued about being the leader. After Waller relaxed the No Pets policy, Bumblebee got a pet bear cub she named Honey. Bumblebee and Honey took part in Grodd's Super Pets class. Grodd caught Honey eating one of his slippers. That night, Wonder Woman and Bumblebee walked their pets Jumpa and Honey in the city. They tried to teach them teamwork by having them help a woman cross the street.
They failed and only tried to grab the woman from the other. Bumblebee took the woman to the sidewalk and apologized then the pets were scolded. Bumblebee was alerted about a Save the Day alarm at Centennial Park Zoo. Several supers responded. Bumblebee blasted Lion-Mane into some bushes. The supers chased Killer Moth's red herring robot into a cage and were trapped. The Super Pets rescued them. Bumblebee and Wonder Woman worked on their stakeout project in Lucius Fox's classroom. To their surprise, they caught Cheetah trying to steal the midterm answers. She later studied with Wonder Woman and Batgirl then did target practice with Cyborg, Frost, and Starfire. Wonder Woman, Frost, and Bumblebee found Giganta outside a condo accusing a girl of stealing her earring. When she grabbed the girl, Bumblebee blasted Giganta's hand and Wonder Woman caught the girl. Once Giganta was secured, Wonder Woman realized her Lasso of Truth was gone. Eventually, it was found out Cheetah was the thief.
Bumblebee deejayed a dance put on to cheer up Starfire. Two weeks after Jessica Cruz became a Green Lantern, Bumblebee joined Flash and Hawkgirl in the search for Krypto. She shrunk and deduced Krypto had kicked a fire hydrant with his back legs then speculated he was going back to Super Hero High in search of Supergirl. Along the way back, Hawkgirl saw Moxie with Krypto's collar and demanded it back. Bumblebee told her she was scared the dog and asked Moxie for help then offered it a sandwich. Moxie happily took a bite. As part of Hawkgirl's plan, Bumblebee shrunk down with Krypto's cape and collar then flew into the air ducts of the Metropolis Animal Control Center. She located Krypto and removed his power-stopping collar. They flew back to Super Hero High and invoked Vice Principal Grodd's help to get rid of the warden. Bumblebee was excited to meet Moxie's puppies but she couldn't take any on since she already had Honey but she was sure someone else at school would adopt them. Krypto suddenly took off into the atmosphere.
Hawkgirl and Bumblebee tried to follow but Hawkgirl's Nth Metal belt reached its limit and the air became too thin for Bumblebee. She called Wonder Woman and quickly explained the situation. They returned to campus and boarded Batgirl's spaceship then launched into outer space. She was confident she would get motion sickness worse than the Teacup Spinner. After Wonder Woman boarded the ship with Krypto, he started barking when Batgirl noticed he was heading to Oa. Bumblebee wondered if something was wrong with Supergirl. Wonder Woman tried to hail her on comms but got no response. They decided to go to Oa instead of Earth. Along with the Green Lanterns, they battled the Kryptonian terraformer robots. Bumblebee was part of the on-call hero crew when Batgirl issued an emergency regarding the explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs. Wonder Woman and Bumblebee flew out two security guards.
Batgirl found the epicenter of the explosion. She noted it had the trademarks of a plastic explosive but she didn't see any remnants of an explosive device or mechanism. She wanted to take one more good look around before the cleanup crew came into the room. Bumblebee and Batgirl happened to find Ivy in a room filled with plants. They looked in the break room but Bumblebee only found a half-eaten fish fillet and Lane hiding in a janitor's closet. Bumblebee and Lane did their old middle school chant. The Super Hero High Dance Committee, consisting of Supergirl, Katana, Harley Quinn, Frost, and Bumblebee, met at Capes & Cowls to discuss the spring dance. Bumblebee stated her DJ playlist was prepped and popping. Harley pointed out the ratio of single tickets sold compared to couples tickets was way outta whack. She wanted to boost numbers with match making. Supergirl and Bumblebee were keen on helping Harley. Bumblebee noticed Steve Trevor coming out from the back and knew where to start.
Lady Shiva quizzed Wonder Woman about the definition of momentum. Supergirl and Bumblebee hid in the booth next to them and attached a string to Wonder Woman's drink. They pulled on it to spill the juice and prompt Trevor to run over to wipe it. They hoped Trevor would ask her to the dance. He did not and only made small talk. They left and found Mayor Sackett waiting outside for them. He informed them Dr. Faulkner was released from the hospital and wanted to thank them. Bumblebee suggested getting Wonder Woman but he countered three super gals was a crowd. Once they got to S.T.A.R. Labs, he directed them to an elevator then pushed a concealed button which took them to a secret lab. They passed by Jimmy Olsen from the Daily Planet. Sackett then revealed to Supergirl and Bumblebee their skills were so impressive, he and Faulkner wanted to invite them to a super hero club they were putting together. Bumblebee was already skeptical of their intentions and questioned how quickly Faulkner recovered from her serious injuries.
Faulkner demonstrated her own super powers and transformed into a super strong brute she called Rampage. She withstood Bumblebee's stinger blasts and Supergirl's heat vision then grabbed Supergirl and declared she was a super hero trying to protect Metropolis and save the world but needed super-powered children to finish her plans. She fired liquid Kryptonite on Supergirl while Sackett fired a electromagnetic device to disable Bumblebee's super suit. She was trapped under a beaker. Rampage returned to her human form and set about to replicate Supergirl's sun-charged strength and Bumblebee's super suit. Faulkner revealed she was trying to make an army of supers to make Metropolis the safest utopia in the world and selected certain citizens to be unwitting test subjects. She grabbed Bumblebee with a pair of tweezers and countered her protests with the belief it was up to people like them to make sure everyone else was doing what was best for themselves and the world.
Bumblebee forced her beaker prison off the table and warned Steve Trevor not to go through the with super transfusion. More Supers arrived to stop Faulkner. Batgirl helped Bumblebee and repaired her supersuit. Much to Supergirl and Bumblebee's surprise, Wonder Woman went to talk to Steve Trevor and asked him to the spring dance. Bumblebee wanted to introduce Wonder Woman to some new music in her dorm after curfew. Wonder Woman remembered she forgot their Physical Education partner project in the cafeteria and they needed it for first period or they would fail. Bumblebee shrunk down and joined Wonder Woman, dodging Parasite. Hawkgirl caught them but joined their cause.
They narrowly avoided Fox by clinging to the ceiling. They dispatched Grodd after Bumblebee hit the up button on the elevator and chose one of the higher floors then they continued to the cafeteria only to run into Waller. She let it go this one time since they technically caught her eating Grodd's bananas for her banana split. One night, Bumblebee took on Mad Harriet atop the Daily Planet. They dodged each other's attacks but Cyborg ended the battle after Harriet made a bad pun. Bumblebee accidentally stepped on Harley's buzzer in the hall. Her suit shorted out and she was stuck in her miniature form. She tried to reach out to Harley in detention but she thought it was a ghost. Supergirl heard Bumblebee calling for help. She and Batgirl found her and went to a lab. Using a microscope, Batgirl repaired the damaged wires on her right shoulder and she was restored to normal.
Bumblebee attempted to solve an extra credit math problem given to Super Hero High's Math Club. it. At midnight, Miss Martian checked in on her but only spooked her. She suggested she take a break. Bumblebee decided to get some sleep and start over when she woke up. Darkseid sneaked into Bumblebee's dorm and trapped her consciousness in her sleep cycle. Miss Martian found her unresponsive and called in Raven for help. Raven realized she could be trapped in her mind forever if they didn't enter her dream and free her. Miss Martian elected to go in. She found Bumblebee working on an equation at a perpetually unending chalkboard. Miss Martian chased off a pair of giant red eyes and went after Bumblebee after she fell through a crack in the floor. After Miss Martian grabbed her arm, they woke up. Miss Martian mentioned the red eyes. Raven realized those were the same eyes she saw when she went to a dark future earlier in the school year and mused it was drawing near.
Dr. Seid selected his top students - Bumblebee, Supergirl, Raven, Batgirl, Katana, Wonder Woman, Starfire, and Beast Boy - to compete in the Tri-Matholon for the Math Club. Harley heard about the Pi Trophy from Bumblebee and Supergirl and decided to give it a try. They did a mock multiple choice exam to practice for the first leg of the competition. Everyone except Harley fell into an odd trance and focused on completing the exam. He realized Harley solved the Anti-Life Equation with the highest test score. All he had to do was carry the one. He revealed his true form and the supers snapped out of the trance. Darkseid declared Earth was his and flew to the roof to use the Amethyst to transmit the Equation. As everyone was transformed into Darkseid, Batgirl told Harley, Raven, and Bumblebee to re-activate their Anti-Hall Monitoring app. They were teleported to the Anti-Hall Monitor's pocket universe and were spared from the Equation's power.
Keying on Harley's words, Batgirl realized they could change the solution to the Equation by adding new variables, namely making the other supers remember who they were and saved the world. Bumblebee provided a diversion in her miniature form while Harley used Supergirl's cape to restore Supergirl. Bumblebee wondered what they would do if Darkseid returned. Batgirl declared they would be ready and waiting.
Novels only Karen Beecher is the daughter of Rob Beecher, a photographer, and Andria Andrena, an eco-friendly architect. On her fifth birthday, she got an engineering kit. She made a set of bee wings that oscillated to create aerodynamic force for maximum air speed. She studied robotics, chemistry, and engineering. Her tree house was dubbed the Bee Tree Lab and soon loomed two stories above the house, necessitating a hydraulic lift. She bonded with bees who set up a hive on one of the higher branches. She got an idea after one accidentally stung her and Bumblebee was born. For the 100th Annual Super Triathlon, Bumblebee was Team Super Hero High's weapons and equipment manager. Queen Bee needed access to Bumblebee's shrinking technology and reverse it to turn her mutant killer bees into her giant Royal Army. Beatriz sent mutated carpenter bees to take out Bumblebee's Bee Tree Lab at her parents' property. They sawed the trunk straight through. The falls caused some of Bumblebee's technology to explode and cause a fire. Some of Bumblebee's super suit technology was stolen as well. The tree's collapse was initially thought to be just an accident. She happened to be in the process of developing a new battery pack, one with a much longer life.
Bumblebee was puzzled by the lethargic bees in Centennial Park and concerned with the shortage of honey. Liberty Belle decided to expand her class on natural disasters into a full-fledged project. She was looking forward to Bumblebee's after her partner Beast Boy claimed they had a plan to battle tornadoes. Bumblebee went to talk to Dr. Arkham around the time her Bee Tree Lab treehouse fell over onto her parents' house. They talked about imposter syndrome, were those like high achievers fear their success may not be warranted despite evidence to the contrary. Bumblebee feared she was pretending to be someone she wasn't. Thanks to Arkham, she began to regain a sense of control in knowing she was the one to determine her own fate. Batgirl decided to share her Batbunker with Bumblebee until her Bee Tree Lab could be rebuilt. After a shaky start on Harley's Greenhouse Hullabaloo, Ivy was consoled by Bumblebee. She offered to help her practice her public speaking. Arkham suggested to Bumblebee was still devastated by the Bee Tree crash and destruction of her family home. He suggested she seek out the help of other Supers.
Bumblebee went to Batgirl and shared her idea to make a self-regenerating pack but needed to do more electrochemistry experiments. Soon, people's sinuses began to react to her slumber dust and went into long lasting sneezing fits. Bee hives went silent. Batgirl and Bumblebee helped Ivy assess three finalists vying for the greenhouse assistant job she posted, after she got so caught up in the Mega Greenhouse she forgot one of Liberty Belle's major assignments. Her pack failed just as Firefly attacked the greenhouse. Luckily, Batgirl and Ivy neutralized him with a well placed batarang and kudzu plants. For a natural disaster themed Save the Day drill, Wildcat was sent to Gowin Town, Ohio where there was a tornado warning. Batgirl, Beast Boy, and Bumblebee were sent to save him. He took cover in a barn in the middle of an apple orchard. They arrived late because Bumblebee had to conserve energy for her failing battery pack. A tornado came from the west. Unable to save him in the three minutes they had left, Beast Boy took the form of an elephant. Wildcat took cover between him and a harvester.
Bumblebee became distracted by the presence of bees. They got riled up and chased Wildcat up a tree. They were penalized and had to write a paper about tornado rescue and analyze what went wrong. Several days later, an analysis of the pollen in Lucius Fox's lab determined it was man-made and would causing sneezing and drowsiness if delivered in mega doses but it was non-lethal. On Super Hero High Visit Day, Beatriz visited the school in search of Bumblebee under the guise of acting as a substitute for her distant niece who was off planet. Bumblebee demonstrated her shrinking ability. Beatriz gave a creepy smile then stated there was work to be done and cryptically told Bumblebee she would be seeing her later. Crazy Quilt demonstrated how to weaponize a pashmina scarf. He tasked the class with coming up with one thing they would like help on to make their super suit the best it can be. The class came up with ideas for Bumblebee's solar battery idea. Batgirl got an idea for biomimicry, piggybacking off nature to create an efficient device.
Star Sapphire donated some extra diamonds to be used to fortify the solar panels on Bumblebee's new wings. Supergirl sliced the facets of the diamonds into sturdy microscopic cells with heat vision under Cyborg's direction. Ivy made a nonflammable nitrocellulose adhesive spray. Beast Boy turned into a mammoth and and stomped the leftover diamonds into a fine powder. Ivy poured it into a large test tube with the micro solar cells and nitrocellulose. Cyborg shook up the mixture at high speed with his bionic arm. Ivy filled it into a high intensity pressure sprayer and added layers on the wings. The now lightweight solar panels and diamonds that focused the sunlight and give the wings extra strength. The battery could fully charge in four hours, in even less time with an optimization program. Bumblebee mused a back up would be needed when there wasn't sunlight. Crops began failing in enough areas to warrant worry by the authorities. To make matter worse, by the time crops failed, there was hardly any trace of the pollen left to trace.
Bumblebee began to suspect someone was dispersing the pollen to confuse bee populations. She learned her parents won a contest and were given an all-expenses paid vacation to Bialya. Kait's Pesty Pest Control Company inspected the Bee Tree Lab and discovered the mutant strain of bees and the unusual strength they displaced. There was a note tucked into the knot from Beatriz stating if Bumblebee wanted to see her parents again, she would come to Bialya. Bumblebee complied and flew to the Honeycomb Hall where Beatriz revealed her plans. Beast Boy was the first super to arrive to back up Bumblebee and was tasked with distracting her Royal Army. Bumblebee pleaded with Cuckoo to stand up to her in exchange for protection. Queen Bee, grabbed atomizers and fired slumber dust at Bumblebee. Bumblebee shrunk to evade the dust and knocked Queen over with her sonic blasters. She countered with her venom stingers and nicked Bumblebee's shoulder. Queen tried to sway Bumblebee to her side with the promise of becoming her top general and all the honey she could eat but was turned down.
Queen Bee took cover from Bumblebee's blasters from behind her throne. Queen tried to stomp her but she grew back to normal size and tossed her. However, her suit's power began to run out. She attempted to recharge off the Sun as much as she could. Queen began enlarging her army despite Bumblebee warning her altering their size could be disastrous without the right program and settings. Several Supers arrived and battled the army. Queen taunted Bumblebee she was nothing without her suit. She powered down her suit and quickly took stock of the throne room. She managed to grab Queen's control box and tossed it to Batgirl to reprogram. Bumblebee then used the castle's old iron cannon to shoot honey jars at Queen Bee, pinned her royal robe to a wall with a spear, and used a battle axe to cut down heavy velvet curtains that flanked the hall's tapestry. It fell on Queen then Bumblebee grabbed cord to tie her up. Bumblebee placed Cuckoo Bee in charge of Honeycomb Hall.
Poison Ivy regenerated the world's flowers to grow and produce new pollen then came up with a formula to counteract the slumber dust. Bumblebee shrank the Royal Army back to normal size. They became docile and accept her as their new queen. Bumblebee ordered them to be free and never be under anyone's control again. They flew three circles of gratitude around her. Ivy helped rejuvenate the Bee Tree Lab. Batgirl working on wiring. Bumblebee won Hero of the Month.
