Beast Boy can change into any animal he wants, anytime he wants (well, most of the time). He's known to be happy-go-lucky and a little immature, but when the situation gets serious, you want this animal on your side. He's a loyal friend who's just as comfortable hanging out with the girls as he is goofing around with the boys. He is originally from West Africa. As a result of his powers, Beast Boy is a vegetarian, especially tofu, bean, burritors, and pie.

Beast Boy is a vegetarian and is a member of the Band Club. While Bumblebee gave Wonder Woman a tour of the school, Beast Boy flew around the halls as a hawk. Bumblebee asked him to show his true form for Wonder Woman. Beast Boy obliged her but did so in mid-air. He fell to the floor but Wonder Woman caught him at the last minute. Beast Boy was selected for the 100th Annual Super Triathlon team. In the earth challenge of the A/P Test, he turned into a mole and promised the moles a year's worth supply of gourmet grubs and an annual subscription to Tunnel Talk Magazine if his team could move their molehill. The team was greatly aided by Beast Boy's powers in the water challenge. He turned into a sea turtle and gave Wonder Woman and Frost a ride as they fended off attacks by the Eclectic Electric Eels then turned into a massive blue whale to block the path of the other teams while they went for the winning treasure chest. He attended the party celebrating the first time Wonder Woman defeated a supervillain.

On Supergirl's first day, Beast Boy participated in a Save the Day against Killer Croc. He turned into a crocodile and was tossed by Croc after a tussle. Back to Super Hero High, Beast Boy turned into a rooster to greet Supergirl. He turned into a gorilla and offered to help Vice Principal Grodd but was turned down. The next day, Beast Boy volunteered his abilities in P.E. class for the strength test. For Wonder Woman, he turned into an elephant then a Brontosaurus for Supergirl. However, Beast Boy lost his balance from getting so big and fell towards the others. He turned into a bird and flew away. Wildcat admonished Supergirl to get a grip on her powers or someone would get hurt. About a week later, Beast Boy participated in a Save the Day involving Giganta. He led those who were tasked with getting innocent civilians out of harm's way. In the finale of the battle, Beast Boy turned into an elephant and jumped on Giganta's right foot. That night, he briefly fought Stompa during a siege started by Granny Goodness.

Two days before semester finals, Beast Boy was playing a game of Go Fish with Starfire when a giant-sized Chompy crashed through the wall and spooked them. Poison Ivy was given detention. On the day before semester finals, Beast Boy watched the spar between Wonder Woman and Cheetah in P.E. class then went to the school assembly then Intro to Super Suits class. He agreed to be Katana's practice partner. He managed to win three matches but she won 642. They played a game of Super Hide-and-Seek to hone their stealth abilities. After Katana found him in Waller's office, her sword accidentally fell out of her hilt and sliced a bowling trophy in half. Katana and Beast Boy repaired with hot glue. He created a distraction to hold Waller's attention by skateboarding in the hall. After school, he attended Harley Quinn's party. The Thursday before the Hero of the Year ceremony, Beast Boy was paired up with Hawkgirl in forensics class. Going off a prompt, he turned into a chimpanzee and swung around the room until Commissioner Gordon told him to get down.

Beast Boy bemoaned the fact that everyone always griped at him. Hawkgirl mused he should stop being so wild if he wanted to be taken seriously as a hero. Beast Boy pleaded with Hawkgirl to teach him. She eventually relented after realizing Hero of the Year Rule 10.1.234 allowed for nominees to receive points for helping other heroes succeed. She opted to teach him how to be a proper, rule-abiding hero like herself. They did some research on her attacker and learned he was Dark Opal from Gemworld and the Amethyst happened to be an old portal to the realm. They took the night shift guarding campus. Beast Boy recited Hawkgirl's mantras and even started wearing a hat and monocle. Training resumed the next day, Saturday, at sunrise to his surprise. That night, the Hero of the Year ceremony was interrupted by the arrival of Eclipso and Dark Opal. On Hawkgirl's cue, Beast Boy confronted them as they blabbed about their plans. He politely asked them to leave. Eclipso blasted him with her Scepter.

After Supergirl destroyed the Scepter, Hawkgirl spotted her Nth Metal belt on a tree branch. Beast Boy turned into a chimpanzee and tossed the belt to her. He was soon swarmed by Shadow Demons. Hawkgirl admitted his way was better and told him to go wild. Beast Boy was relieved and used a lion, bear, and octopus form to easily defeat the shadows. In the aftermath of the battle, he gave his monocle to Batgirl so she could place a sliver of Supergirl's Mnemosyne Crystal in Bumblebee's battery pack. Beast Boy was tasked with retrieving Crazy Quilt from the theater. Together, they headed to the post-gala dinner at the Kent Farm. He anticipated there would be no pumpernickel and took a loaf out from under his armpit. He later won Hero of the Month, to Principal Waller's surprise, but opted to just chill because he believed Saturdays were for slothing. Beast Boy went on a picnic with Batgirl and Starfire in Centennial Park but a snake appeared and ate his bananna. Beast Boy turned into an eagle and carried off a senior citizen being chased by a sloth.

Lion Mane announced himself as the perpetrator and used his special ability to place Beast Boy under his sway. The trance dropped after Starfire and Batgirl neutralized Lion Mane. They teamed up with zoo volunteer Mari McCabe to rescue all the animals. He only remarked she had pretty okay skills. The following semester, on a Friday, Beast Boy hung out at Capes & Cowls after school. He joined Supergirl and Miss Martian in their city-wide search for the stolen Batjet. In hawk form, Beast Boy noticed something odd at the Portal Coffee Shop.

A Battle of the Bands! competition was going on and the Batjet was the grand prize. The bouncer mistook them for contestants and directed them to the band entrance. Beast Boy took to the drums. The battle soon became a brawl. Beast Boy turned into a lion but ran from Gizmo's blasts. Ivy, Batgirl, Harley, Wonder Woman, Katana, Hawkgirl, Flash and Bumblebee joined them. Beast Boy was concerned with a trip to the Underworld as his mama always said to avoid like the plague. Since it was to find Professor Etrigan, Beast Boy invoked Cyborg's Boo-yah! and leaped in with the rest of Wonder Woman's team. He whipped out a pumpernickel sandwich and chowed down. They learned Trigon, lord of the Underworld, had Etrigan but they had no idea how to find him. Raven, Trigon's daughter, appeared and took them to the right path. Beast Boy definitely felt a connection with Raven but they parted ways on account of her not wanting to get grounded for an eternity. They found Etrigan but Trigon appeared and caged them. Miss Maritan turned invisible from fright and wasn't caught. She reappeared and freed them.

They made a beeline for the portal and returned to the coffee shop just as the demons closed the portal down. Wonder Woman's team went to Smallville to help Batgirl's team take back the Batjet. Beast Boy, Hawkgirl, and Miss Martian were blown away by Black Condor's wind power but Harley and Ivy put him in his place. Once the Smallville Special Crimes Unit took Black Canary, Condor, and Magpie away, the girls continued onto Themyscira for their slumber party. Wonder Woman entrusted Beast Boy and Flash with returning the Invisible Jet to Super Hero High. Beast Boy resented the implication he would be reckless but as soon as they took to the air, he wanted to see how fast the jet could go. Back on campus, Flash and Beast Boy returned to playing their "Craft of Warworld" game. On the Intro to Prehistory field trip to the Jurassic Era, Beast Boy took on the form of a Brachiosaurus then Stegosaurus in order to calm the dinosaurs down. Soon enough, he was accepted as the alpha dinosaur. To Supergirl's surprise, he was rather eloquent.

Beast Boy was voted "Most Animal Magnetism" in the Super Hero High School Yearbook. For the summer, Beast Boy went on a tour of Europe with Batgirl and Katana. Beast Boy was amazed he was learning so much so soon when they stopped at the British Museum in London. The tour turned to a chase through the city after a thief stole the Golden Olive Branch. Beast Boy was nearly run over by a double decker bus because he didn't know about traffic lanes being the opposite. They crossed through Buckingham Palace. Beast Boy turned into a corgi and asked Queen Elizabeth II to throw some crumpets his way. Beast Boy and Katana were rendered unconscious in Big Ben's stairwell after the thief threw down a sleep grenade. When Beast Boy came to, he transformed into an eagle and rescued Batgirl from falling off the clock face. Katana found a map left behind. They relocated to Cod Rest His Sole Fish & Chips to figure out their next move. He ordered the chips and chips while Batgirl and Katana matched the map to the layout of hte Louvre in Paris.

Beast Boy couldn't wait to eat some croissants, crepes and stinky cheese. They monitored the Greek displays to no avail. Beast Boy thought the thief stole a statue's head and arms but Katana pointed out that's how the Winged Victory of Samothrace was. They decided to search a storage room after Batgirl bypassed security but the police were there to arrest them for the theft of the Shield of Ares. Commissioner Gordon was irate but Batgirl convinced him they were working a big case. Hawkgirl called and told them about the Shield of Ares and its power to grant invulnerability as well as its two weaknesses, the Golden Olive Branch and the Amulet of Harmonia. The Amulet turned out to be on Themyscira but they couldn't reach Wonder Woman. While Beast Boy wanted to stay for the macarons and eclairs, Katana announced they were going to Greece and they drove their rental mopeds to the Charles De Gaulle Airport. Once in Greece, they flew to Mount Olympus and discovered the thief was Strife, the goddess of chaos, and she was in league with her brother Ares, god of war.

In the battle against Ares, Beast Boy tried turning into a mosquito but he fell under Strife's spell of discord. Batgirl declared he was the wrost travel companion. Beast Boy countered he didn't need anyone because he was a lone wolf. After Wonder Woman defeated Ares, Beast Boy helped return the Golden Olive Branch to the British Museum. Beast Boy transformed into a whale and smacked Ares in the face with his tale. With Wonder Woman and Batgirl in the Mobile HQ pulling at his legs, Ares fell to ground. Hawkgirl and Miss Martian applied blows to his back for good measure as he dropped. Beast Boy currently holds the record of having the worst virtual simulation in P.E. class for which he prides himself on. Beast Boy headed into the city after a Save the Day Alarm was triggered. He found the source, a row of water geysers from damaged fire hydrants. Supergirl and Hawkgirl soon caught up. Beast Boy briefed them then turned into a gazelle. After they ran into many spooked cats, Beast Boy turned into a cat and tried to calm them down but they continued past him.

They discovered Supergirl's old pet dog Krypto was causing all the mayhem with his newfound powers. He was naturally surprised Krypto and Supergirl knew each other. He couldn't understand Krypto's barks but Supergirl wasn't concerned with how he got to Earth. Beast Boy took the form of an elephant during Trigon's assault on Super Hero High and put out fires by shooting water out his trunk. Beast Boy ignored Cyborg's rules and used the remote control on his Cybeast tank. He accidentally set it to Destruction Mode and it terrorized citizens outside campus. Big Barda remembered what she was taught and drove the tank. Beast Boy volunteered for dance lessons but after Supergirl spun Flash into a stage and Wonder Woman spun Cyborg into a ceiling, he turned into a porcupine and cowered in front of Katana. During the dance, Beast Boy failed to intimidate Lobo but defeated Mongal in unison with the girls using his kangaroo form.

Beast Boy wanted to come along on the trip to Oa for Jessica Cruz' ceremony to see what it was like off-world but he bombed six tests in a row. Beast Boy stowed away as a turtle in the cargo hold and took a nap. His snoring was eventually heard and he was found. They continued with the last hyper-jump to Oa but Supergirl forgot to adjust her calculations for Beast Boy's weight and they ended up in the middle of an asteroid belt. They searched Oa and couldn't find any Lanterns then they were attacked by Kryptonian Terraformer Robots. General Zod introduced himself then accused them of being Supergirl's captors. Supergirl arrived, freed them, and cleared things up. Beast Boy was eager to stop at the kitchen for snacks. Non took them to the New Krypton Visitors' Center then launched it into space. They got lucky and the space pod crashed into a Space Cab. Star Sapphire negotiated with the Space Cabbie for a ride back to Earth so they could get reinforcements. Beast Boy turned into a micro-animal called tardigrade, or space bear, that could survive extreme conditions like space.

Cabbie hit the gas and took off. Beast Boy felt validated in his choice. Tricked by Non and launched into space, Beast Boy couldn't believe his maiden voyage into space was continuing into the Phantom Zone, a different dimension. After Cruz admitted she was terrified to go, Beast Boy admitted he was afraid of tests. Once they started to walk around the Phantom Zone, they were chased by Prisoner #24602. Beast Boy took some zaps to the butt. He took the form of a lion and fought the other criminals. He high fived Cruz after she took them out with a blast from her ring as she recited the Green Lantern oath. Cabbie used the Phantom Zone Projector and brought them back to space. Barda, Beast Boy, and Sapphire went into the cab and followed the Green Lanterns back to Oa. They fought the horde of Kryptonian terraformer robots. Beast Boy turned into a blue whale and dropped from the sky, smashing several, then turned into a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

During the S.T.A.R. Labs incident, Beast Boy, Starfire, and Big Barda were with the Hero Ball team on an away game that went into overtime. He made it back for the spring dance and turned into a frog on the dance floor. After Krypto and Roz went missing right before the Pet Show, Beast Boy elected to pose as a pet to draw out the kidnapper. He turned into a poodle and took Krypto's place. He didn't perform too well. The kidnapped revealed herself at the end of the competition, Artemiz, and stole the rest of the pets. She was unaware of Beast Boy and stored him in a carrier then took off in the Batty Wagon. Artemiz admitted they would be tortured by Granny Goodness but promised she wouldn't dye him green anymore. Beast Boy took offense and spoke up by accident. Artemiz realized the truth and he turned into a cricket. He dodged her strikes, hopped onto the side console button, and leaped out the wagon. He was saved at the last second from a big rig by Supergirl. He quickly briefed her on Artemiz' plans and she froze an intersection with her breath. The pets escaped and defeated Artemiz. The pets shared the grand prize and Beast Boy was given the prize for most versatile.

Dr. Seid selected his top students - Bumblebee, Supergirl, Raven, Batgirl, Katana, Wonder Woman, Starfire, and Beast Boy - to compete in the Tri-Matholon for the Math Club. After Seid revealed he was Darkseid, ruler of Apokolips, the supers attacked. Beast Boy turned into a snake and tried biting his shoulder from behind but caused no harm. Beast Boy admitted he had nothing and slithered away. He was later transformed into a Darkseid but restored to normal thanks to Batgirl, Harley, Raven, and Bumblebee.

Novels only Beast Boy was partnered with Bumblebee for Liberty Belle's Natural Disaster Project. He falsely hyped things up by claiming to Liberty that they came up with a plan to battle tornadoes. For a natural disaster themed Save the Day drill, Wildcat was sent to Gowin Town, Ohio amid tornado outbreaks. Bumblebee, Beast Boy, and Batgirl were sent to save him. Forced to take cover in a barn, Beast Boy took on the form of an elephant. Wildcat took shelter between him and a harvester. To add insult to injury, angry bees chased Wildcat up a tree. The trio had to write a report about what went wrong. Beast Boy used his mammoth form to grind leftover diamond bits into a fine powder, Ivy poured it into a large test tube with the micro solar cells and a non-flammable nitrocellulose adhesive spray. Cyborg shook it up at high speed with his bionic arm then Ivy spread several layers of the solar solution on the new wings for Bumblebee.

Beast Boy was the first Super to arrive at Honeycomb Hall to help Bumblebee battle Queen Bee. She tasked him with keeping her Royal Army of mutant bees distracted. Beast Boy assumed several animal forms such as a wasp and later an armadillo to shield himself from their stingers.
