Super Hero High School is an academic institute in Metropolis where students develop their powers and skills through dedication to the arts and rigorous academic programs towards mastering the fundamentals of being a super hero. Super Hero High is known for encouraging its students' freedom of expression. Students have the option of living on campus in the dormitories. Each student is given a network password for Internet access. Graduates become fully fledged superheroes. Superman is famed as a star super student at Super Hero High. The school's motto is "Empowering tomorrow's superheroes today." The principal is Amanda Waller and the vice principal is Gorilla Grodd. The Amethyst adorns the top of the school's highest tower and doubles as a welcome beacon for incoming flyers. There is a wide range of courses, including Weaponomics, Flyers' Ed, Heroes Throughout History, and Super Suit Design. In addition there are extra cirricular activities like Science Club, Junior Detective Society, or Heroball.

Darkseid once hijacked Earth's Boom Tubes and attempted to conquer the planet. After his defeat, Waller took over sole access to the room holding the Boom Tubes as a safety precaution. The security doors, like the walls of the school, were made of super proof steel. The password to the room was 1938. The school has a libraryfully furnished with every book in the world, spacious gym, hospital and recently unveiled Ferris Flight Track. Each month, one of the students is chosen for the prestigious award for showing helpfulness, selflessness, and acting like a role model. In the present, Wonder Woman started attending Super Hero High.

Upon her arrival, Supergirl crashed into the cafeteria and managed to break through the super proof steel. Principal Waller initiated damage control protocol, students and faculty jumped in to help, and the cafeteria was quickly repaired and rebuilt. The head librarian Granny Goodness was secretly an agent of Apokolips and wanted access to the Boom Tubes to bring over her Female Furies, teenage warriors, then power a Mother Box with the Amethyst as well as increase her own powers. Granny would then send out a frequency that would brainwash the student body then use them to pave the way for Darkseid to conquer Earth. Vice Principal Grodd was the only one immune to her trance so she made sure to frame him. Barbara Gordon devised a de-trancer and frequency shields in the form of earrings to protect herself and Supergirl. Supergirl convinced Gordon to don the Batgirl super suit she had Katana make her as a farewell gift. Together, they made their way to the Amethyst and plugged in the De-Trancer.

The students fought back and stopped the Furies. Granny made a move for the Amethyst but Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Batgirl stopped her. Supergirl wrapped Granny up in super proof steel then flew her Granny Grenade up into the sky to safely detonate. After Granny, the Furies and Perry were boomed to the Belle Reve Penitentiary and Juvenile Detention Center, a ceremony was held to honor Supergirl and everyone else vital in the victory. At the end, Waller announced a new super was accepted to Super Hero High: Batgirl. In secret, Batgirl constructed a completely soundproof Batcave under the faculty lounge. The only access to the cave is a passage concealed by the common watercooler in the lounge and protected by a retinal scan. Big Barda reformed and was accepted to Super Hero High. She arrived on a Wednesday night amid final preparations for the annual Hero of the Year weekend event. The next day, the long dormant Amethyst was activated by Dark Opal and Eclipso. Dark Opal emerged that night and attacked Hawkgirl, who was standing guard. He knocked her out and stole her Nth Metal belt.

Dark Opal and Eclipso sent the Shadow Demons through the Amethyst to steal certain artifacts from Super Hero High students while they slept in their dorms. One of Katana's shurikens, Big Barda's Mega Rod, and Star Sapphire's Violet Power Ring were taken in the night. On Saturday, Principal Waller decided to increase the amount of students assigned to guard duty. Opal made a move for Supergirl's Mnemosyne Crystal by posing as her mother Alura in the forest surrounding the campus but she saw through the ruse. Big Barda came to Supergirl's aid and yelled for help. Surrounded, Opal summoned Shadow Demons but Katana discovered their weakness against light. Opal and the demons were forced to retreat. The Hero of the Year ceremony was broken up by Eclipso and Dark Opal. After the Shadow Demons cut the school's power, and thus light, Eclipso vowed to take over every sector of the universe then drew up a protective shield around her and Opal. However, Opal objected to her promise to destroy Gemworld and in the tussle, the shield was dropped.

The supers, faculty, and guests fought back against the Shadow Demons while Supergirl destroyed the Scepter with her heat vision and Wonder Woman battled Opal. Supergirl went after Eclipso who fled to the Moon. Batgirl took Opal into custody while Wonder Woman flew to the Moon as well. Poison Ivy instructed Batgirl to get the power back on so they could destroy the shadows with light. In a short matter of time, all the shadows were vanquished and the Special Crimes Unit took took custody of Opal and Eclipso. The Hero of the Year gala moved over to the Kent Farm in Smallville. Crazy Quilt and Beast Boy arrived last and presented the Hero of the Year award to Bumblebee. The Super Hero High Student Art Show Fundraiser featured a painting from Silver St. Cloud's gallery but it was stolen by the Double Dare twins. Katana chased them into June Moone's classroom and dispatched them with art supplies.

After an Intro to Prehistory field trip to the Jurassic Era went awry, the present timeline was altered. Instead of Super Hero High, Savage High now stood with Vandal Savage as its principal. Those who broke the rules or stood up to Savage were branded as Anti-Savage Insurgents and either punished with detention or expelled. In extreme cases, traitors were boomed to the Phantom Zone. He also strongly discouraged any investigative work, leading to the Metropolis Junior Detective Society no longer existing. Harley Quinn was expelled for putting Kaboom Candy in Savage's coffee, Liberty Belle was fired for orchestrating a coup against Savage, and there was a new student named Power Girl in attendance. Batgirl and Harley Quinn took the Time Machine to the Mechanics, Robotics, and Automotive Workshop to repair the Chronolo-Gel Tube. Harley used Kaboom Candy and Soder Cola to create an improvised explosion and draw the shop class teacher, Doc Magnus, outside. They hurried into the garage and locked it down. After a few minutes, Magnus overrode security and got in. Harley pressed a button despite Batgirl's warning and they teleported away.

Batgirl and Harley returned to Savage High in 2017 but Savage was waiting for them with Doc Magnus, Crazy Quilt, Wildcat, Red Tornado, Gorilla Grodd, and Etrigan. Elsewhere on campus, Bumblebee destroyed the Power Drainers in the detention room. Beast Boy, Supergirl, Katana, and Poison Ivy vacated the room and discovered Wonder Woman outside taking care of Cheetah and Mammoth. They thanked Bumblebee and took off to free Liberty Belle. The supers battled the faculty while Harley Quinn searched for the egg only to find a Pterodactyl hatchling. She bonded with it and named it Bitey McPuddin' Face. Together, they defeated Vandal Savage and saved Batgirl. They jumped to the Jurassic Era to return Bitey to its mother. They returned to Super Hero High School but now Lucius Fox was the principal. Batgirl and Harley jumped to the past and determined they had to save a young Amanda Waller from Solomon Grundy. They returned to the present and Super Hero High School was back to normal.

The Double Date twins broke into the Weaponomics vault and stole a cross blaster prototype. They made their way through the vents and dropped into the gym during Advanced Martial Arts. They were defeated by Katana and Big Barda, who happened to stay behind so the latter could learn more about the subject. After Krypto and Ace found and returned stolen jewelry to Eclipso Jewels, Principal Waller realized they proved they were heroes, too, and she must allow super pets at Super Hero High. Waller edited her No Pets Policy and they were allowed on campus. During the city-wide eruptions, supers were dispatched to gather citizens and take them to Super Hero High to take shelter in the cafeteria bunker. Trigon attacked Super Hero High after Raven revealed she wanted to stay and go to school there. Waller ordered the supers to their stations. Raven promised to return to the Underworld but Trigon refused to leave until Super Hero High paid for the insult of Raven trying to be a hero.

Supergirl liberated Batgirl by blasting Trigon's hand with heat vision then muscled herself free. Supergirl implored Raven to use her magic to open a portal and send him back to the Underworld but Raven contended her magic was pure evil. Supergirl told her Super Hero High taught powers were neither good nor evil and she could either be like her dad or choose to forge a new path. Batgirl found them and revealed she had a plan. She switched her hologram for one of Raven on her Batcycle. Trigon took the bait and suspended his attack on Star Sapphire and Green Lantern Hal Jordan to chase it. Raven opened a portal at the 3500 block intersection right under Trigon. He was impressed she made her first portal. Raven refused to let him destroy Super Hero High and prepared to leave with him. Trigon stopped her and admitted she already mastered her magic more at Super Hero High than all the years of home school. He gave her permission to attend Super Hero High and told her to learn all she could so they could destroy the world together someday. Trigon was appointed head of the PTA wrapping paper fundraiser.

Katana, Supergirl, and Wonder Woman threw a dance at Super Hero High to cheer up Starfire, who was feeling homesick. Katana made Supergirl and Wonder Woman dresses while Crazy Quilt taught them how to dance. On the first try, Flash was spun into the stage and Cyborg was launched into the ceiling. Starfire's spirits lifted after learning about the dance and was touched by their "sacrifice." She asked for Blackfire and her classmates to be invited, too. The night of the dance, Blackfire arrived with Lobo, Bleez, Blackfire, Mongal, and Maxima. She started by blasting Starfire into a wall. Wonder Woman learned dance meant "domination battle" on Tamaran and the only way to win was to take down all opponents at once. Wonder Woman realized Crazy Quilt's dance lesson was the key and had Bumblebee turn up the music. The girls fought in unison and defeated the Korugar students. Wonder Woman tied them up in the Lasso of Truth.

Harley Quinn took the lead in the Dance Committee to prepare for the spring formal. While out on a date with Commissioner Gordon, Bette Sans Souci talked about how she was always fascinated with Super Hero High but always missed out on the public tours. Gordon offered to give her one. He showed her his classroom then walked her to the faculty lounge but she saw a vault and inquired. Gordon told her it was the Weaponomics Vault where they kept weapons used for teaching purposes but stated it wasn't on the tour for security reasons. Sans Souci reckoned they would have to do it the hard way. Deadshot stepped forward with Batgirl as his hostage. Gordon complied and opened up the vault. Batgirl reached for her belt but Sans Souci gave her a warning explosion, revealing S.T.A.R. Labs turned her into a human bomb. Once they pillaged the vault, Sans Souci locked them in a vault with a time bomb to buy them time to escape.

Harley Quinn, Frost, and Katana were almost done setting up for the spring dance with two hours and 33 minutes to go before it started. Deadshot and Plastique ran into them after stealing from the Weaponomics Vault. Frost froze them but Plastique exploded herself and Deadshot free. Deadshot threw out the Multi-Blast Shocker for cover. Waller found Harley, Katana, and Frost and a big mess. She naturally demanded to know what happened. She asked Harley if she mixed Soder cola and Kaboom Candy again. Harley didn't like being accused and described Deadshot by how he smelled, of kettle corn and caramel apples, and his go-to phrase of "blasted buttons." They checked surveillance footage in Waller's office. Waller realized she was tricked by Lawton. Harley noted she was too good for the bozo. Frost told her it wasn't her fault for letting them in the vault. Waller became alarmed. Batgirl thought the red wire had to be removed. Gordon cited his experience and stated it was the blue wire. Batgirl countered she disarmed bombs a million times.

Waller, Katana, Harley, and Frost opened the vault. Waller ripped out the blue wire with a second to spare. Gordon apologized for being manipulated but Waller told him there was no need to explain and they would have a good gab over a coffee after the villains were apprehended. Frost triggered the Save The Day Alarm and they set off for the Daily Planet. After Deadshot, Plastique, Mayor Sackett and Dr. Faulkner were arrested, the spring dance went through without a hitch. Harley was pleased but Supergirl and Bumblebee realized she didn't have time to find a date. Harley stated she didn't need a date as long as she had Ivy. Gordon asked Waller to dance but she reminded me she was his boss and they should keep it business casual. Batgirl apologized to him with sticking her nose in his dating life then they danced.

(Novels only) In decades past, Super Hero High was a series of odd buildings and some were centuries old. A network of secret urban tunnels beneath campus stretched across Metropolis. Suddenly, the school received an influx of money. Some believed it was from a private donor. Most of the old school was torn down to make way for the new campus. The Super Hero High Historical Society lobbied successfully for the underground mazes and rooms to be spared and left untouched. Over the years, more secret tunnels and rooms were added to serve as unofficial lairs and vaults. The underground water system was used as a transportation system to deliver supplies, in sealed pods, to other countries. Later, Supers with swimming skills or water vehicles used the tunnels. Then for decades, it lay unused. Statues of heroes like Tsunami and Superman were built. Wonder Woman started attending Super Hero High amid a controversial expulsion of a student named Mandy Bowin and preparations for the 100th Annual Super Triathlon. The last time Super Hero High won was 50 years ago.

As the weeks passed, Wonder Woman forged many friendships among the student body and citizens of Metropolis, juggled a classic overachiever's dilemmia trying to pick between school, a social life, sports, and sleep, sharing a dorm room with Harley Quinn, conducted the most efficient Save the Day response since Superman, and investigated anonymous threats to her. In the finale of the Triathlon, Wonder Woman realized this was the moment for Hawkgirl to show herself and her grandmother what she was made of. Wonder Woman faked an injury and had Hawkgirl take her place. Super Hero High won the Triathlon by one point. To evade the second Dragon King, the 100 swords associated with the Heikegani legend were transported from the Temple of Sacred Swords in Japan to the underwater tunnels of Super Hero High. Ghost Crabs began to appear and disappear throughout campus, sending ominous haiku to Katana to warn her of the Dragon King's arrival. Katana discovered her sword was the legendary Muteki Sword all along and defeated the king. She promised the escort the swords back to the Temple where they would reside in peace for an eternity.

Poison Ivy started a mega greenhouse on campus, powered solely by the Sun, and housed flora from various countries side by side and divided by narrow dirt walkways into sections like farmlands, cactus garden, tropical paradise, and regions like Southeast Asia. Supergirl used heat vision to create the dry air of a desert environment around the cacti. El Dialbo used his fire powers to regulate the temperature of the tropical microenvironments. Katana used two swords to cutback overgrowth and trim trees. Catwoman tried unsuccessfully to coax the corpse flower to bloom. Ivy got so busy with the greenhouse she forgot to turn in a major assignment to Liberty Belle. She decided to hire someone to help her take care of the greenhouse.

Petey Boggs, Jason Woodrue, and Karena Tisk applied for the assistant job. They had to pass a written test, a plant problem, and worst-case scenario. Boggs did well on the written test but made the mistake of spreading fertilizer on the cactus garden. Woodrue and Tisk excelled in picking ripe fruit and pulling weeds. Boggs saw the supervillain Firefly heading towards Ivy's mega greenhouse. He screamed and ran outside. Tisk tried to run away but ended up in the rare, sticky, and stinky Koloff Tree. Firefly targeted Poison Ivy's mega greenhouse because of his hatred for such structures and tried to burn it down. He used a fusion laser to cut a hole in the glass just as Bumblebee's battery pack failed. He started torching the interior but he was knocked over by one of Batgirl's batarangs. Ivy summoned kudzu plants from the Southeast Asia gardon to envelop him. Woodrue opened the dam to put out the fire.

It was soon time for Super Hero High Visit Day. Some students acted as tour guides while others helped run seminars. There was a special program for students considering transferring and programs for parents. The Supers analyzed a new mystery pollen in Lucius Fox's science lab and Ivy revealed it was man-made that would cause sneezing and drowsiness if delivered in mega doses. Former-student-turned-supervillain Beatriz visited the school in search of Bumblebee under the guise of acting as a substitute for her distant niece who was off planet. Beatriz dressed like a glamorous old-time Hollywood movie star with her wide-brimmed hat complete with a black veil and dress that looked like a cross between haute culture and a beekeeper's suit. She only wanted Bumblebee to give her a tour of the campus. Bumblebee demonstrated her shrinking ability. Beatriz gave a creepy smile then stated there was work to be done and cryptically told Bumblebee she would be seeing her later. While crops around the world started failing, Ivy's greenhouse thrived.
