Metropolis is a city on the east coast of the United States of America. Super Hero High School and the Daily Planet are located in Metropolis. Branches of Wayne Enterprises and S.T.A.R. Labs are also in the city. Students at Super Hero High often respond to Save the Day alarms when something wrong goes on in Metropolis. Wonder Woman's first super villain battle was with Giganta on Griffin Avenue during an attempted bank heist. On Supergirl's first day of school, Killer Croc was defeated by Wonder Woman, Bumblebee, Beast Boy, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and Cheetah at a construction site. In a week's time, Giganta attempted to rob Eclipso Jewels in downtown. She was stopped by Wonder Woman, Beast Boy, Poison Ivy, Cheetah, Bumblebee, Harley Quinn, Supergirl, and Hawkgirl. Cheetah, however, got in Supergirl's head about dropping Beast Boy in P.E. class and her heat vision hit Bumblebee in a leg by accident.

Supergirl was overwhelmed by everyone and let out a powerful scream that sent everyone flying. She decided they were better off without her and flew back to school. The others rallied together and captured Giganta with Ivy's vines, Wonder Woman's shield blaster, and Harley's giant novelty handcuffs. Wonder Woman was awarded with the Key to the City of Metropolis and it is kept in her trophy room at the palace on Themyscira. Batgirl and Harley Quinn accidentally teleported Super Hero High's Time Machine bus to the year 2150 of an alternate timeline when Vandal Savage was in control. Metropolis was devestated and lay in ruins. A unit of Atomic Knights maintained a base in Metropolis but their numbers were dwindling. They initially suspected Batgirl and Harley to be spies of Savage but their Giant Dalmatians took a liking to Harley. One of the knights, Marlene Herald, played the Holo-History of Savage in order to inform the girls of Savage's origins.

Harley mentioned stealing a dinosaur egg from the Jurassic Era and Batgirl was irate. To make matters worse, the egg was in her backpack back at Savage High School in 2016. At the beginning of summer vacation, the supers took care of all villains and put them in the Special Crime Unit's custody before they set off. The Double Dare twins went on a spree stealing but were stopped by Wonder Woman and Bumblebee after plundering purses from Silver St. Cloud's designer collection. Batgirl stopped Killer Moth from wrapping the city in a giant cocoon. Double Dare, Killer Moth, Cheshire, and Solomon Grundy were taken away by the police. With the Shield of Ares, Golden Olive Branch, and Amulet of Harmonia in their possession, Ares and Strife attempted to bring war to Metropolis. Strife took control of her brothers and sisters, Apollo, Aphrodite, Demeter, Hermes, Janus, and Siracca, and set them loose on the city.

Soon people fell prey to her influence and skirmishes broke out across the city. The Save the Day alarm was soon triggered. Flash, Cheetah. Cyborg, Miss Martian, Harley Quinn, Ivy, Starfire, Catwoman, Thunder, Lightning, and Frost responded first and battled the gods at Super Hero High. Wonder Woman, Bumblebee, Batgirl, Supergirl, Big Barda, Lady Shiva, Beast Boy, Katana, Star Sapphire, and Green Lantern arrived later but Strife set them against each other as well. Wonder Woman refused to further fuel Ares. Hawkgirl found Wonder Woman and told her Philia or Love of Friendship could also stop Ares and Strife. Wonder Woman found Ares and started listing off why all the other supers were her friends. Ares lost all his power and shrank to a dimunitive size. He made a hasty retreat with Strife. Giganta stormed through the city in search of her sunglasses. Cyborg activated his rocket boots and flew after her then told her they were on her head. He continued and advised her get anger management.

Giganta denied having anger problems then threw her glasses at him and pursued him. Thunder and Lightning came to Cyborg's aid and the three supers attacked Giganta with everything they had. Giganta mistakenly grabbed a live line at a power sub-station and was electrocuted. It also set off a city-wide black out. Wonder Woman and Supergirl helped tie up Giganta as she was fitted for an airlift. Batgirl sought out Lightning with help restoring power but she lacked confidence. Thunder caught up to them at the sub-station and reminded her their father, Black Lightning, always told her she could do anything. They used their powers together at the same time and Lightning restored power to Metropolis. Ares became enraged after the Amulet of Harmonia was taken off of him by Catwoman. Without the peaceful influence of it, he grew huge and rampaged on the city. Wonder Woman led a team of flyers consisting of Bumblebee, Starfire, Supergirl, Miss Martian, Hawkgirl, and Beast Boy while Batgirl and Flash picked up Frost, Lady Shiva, Ivy, and Harley Quinn in the former's Mobile HQ van.

Ares grabbed a lightning rod and batted Wonder Woman against a building. The flyers engaged Ares while the ground team evacuated a falling building. Frost propped it up with a column of ice while Flash raced citizens outside to safety. Batgirl had Oracle scan Ares of any weaknesses. It highlighted the lightning rod. Batgirl directed Bumblebee and Starfire to blast the rod. Ares was electrocuted. Wonder Woman lassoed one leg and Harley got the other with a cannon out of the Mobile HQ. Beast Boy took the form of whale and smacked Ares to the ground with his tail. Hawkgirl and Miss Martian hit him in the back to force him down for the count. Ares stood back up and continued his assault on the city. Wonder Woman and Supergirl tried to lure him away from the city by mocking him with the Golden Fleece he gifted the former while wearing the amulet. Catwoman learned what she caused and placed the amulet on one of Ares' fingers. He stopped his attack and was overcome with remorse.

Krypto, Supergirl's pet dog when she lived on Krypton, arrived in Metropolis. Unaware of his new super powers from the yellow sun, Krypto went on a rampage and triggered both the Kryptonian Proximity Alert on Supergirl's ship and Super Hero High's Save the Day alarm. Beast Boy discovered several rows of fire hydrants were gushing geysers of water. Perry the Parademon denied any involvement in the incident. Supergirl, Beast Boy, and Hawkgirl continued in and ran into many scared cats. The Mobile HQ arrived on scene. Catwoman invited the cats into the back. Supergirl heard screams and they found the culprit at Capes & Cowls Cafe. After speaking with Steve Trevor, they went out the back and searched around. Supergirl noticed a pair of red eyes by the dumpster. Supergirl and Krypto instantly recognized each other and hugged. Raven unknowingly triggered lava eruptions in Metropolis when Trigon made her practice a magic spell, Azarath Metrion Zinthos. Raven had enough of magic and instead of continuing to practice, she went through Trigon's portal to Metropolis and witnessed the carnage.

Raven saved a toddler from falling into the lava and both she and her father called her a hero. Raven insisted she was just a passerby. Raven was amazed by Batgirl's efforts to freeze the lava from her Batcycle. Supergirl and Bumblebee evacuated a building and the former sighted Raven. Not knowing who she was, Supergirl asked her for help. Together, they stopped a building from tilting over. Supergirl led Raven to Super Hero High to drop off citizens and told her about the school. Waller recognized Raven and dispatched Supergirl to Sector 7 of the city. Trigon reached the surface in a rage and yelled out for Raven. He grounded Raven for two eternities and refused to leave until Super Hero High paid for the insult. Supergirl liberated Batgirl with a heat vision blast then muscled herself free. Supergirl told Raven to open a portal back to the Underworld but she contended her magic was pure evil. Supergirl convinced her to forge her own path. Batgirl arrived and created Raven hologram on her Batcycle to trick Trigon then Raven opened a portal in the intersection of the 3500 block of the city. Trigon was impressed she opened her first portal and let her stay at Super Hero High.

Testing the limits of her magic, Raven created a portal and ended up several months into the future. She discovered Super Hero High and Metropolis were devastated and lay in ruin. She was blasted through her portal back to the present with short term memory loss.

(Novels only) Just before the 100th Annual Super Triathlon, Wonder Woman learned the address of former Super Hero High student Mandy Bowin, whom she suspected was sending her anonymous threats. She flew to a remote area of Metropolis called Hobb's Bay. She saw a huge suspension bridge and continued over a steep crooked road to a purple Victorian house with pink trim and gingerbread details on the eaves. Wonder Woman met Mandy and learned of her father, the Fiddler, who wanted her to become a superhero but she wanted to play her music thus leading to a staged argument and expulsion so she could enroll in an elite music school.
