Capes & Cowls Cafe is a local diner in Metropolis themed after superheroes and specializes in smoothies. It also only serves health food like veggie burgers and kale chips. The owner's son, Steve Trevor, helps out at the cafe. Lois Lane filed one of her live reports from the cafe during the height of when Harley Quinn went viral. The cafe got in on the trend and offered a Smoothie Quinn that explodes in your face when you drink. Wonder Woman, Poison Ivy, and Frankie, one of Ivy's plant pets, sat outside the cafe. Trevor soon appeared with Ivy's order but gave her medium whole milk instead of skim by mistake. Frankie jumped on the table then launched itself on Trevor's face. Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Batgirl left Capes & Cowls at 3 pm one afternoon. Wonder Woman realized they were late for Hippolyta's Feast of the Five but forgot where she parked her Invisible Jet.
Cheetah came up with a scheme to get Hero of the Month. Harley disguised herself as a criminal and held up Trevor. Cheetah arrived and put on a stunt fight. However, Wonder Woman arrived and confronted the robber until she realized it was Harley. The day before semester finals, Bumblebee visited the cafe for a honey smoothie but she happened upon a robbery in progress. Killer Croc tried to steal a stack of tuna fish sandwiches. Bumblebee opened fire and eventually defeated him. In the battle, the cafe's smoothie machine was damaged by one of her blasts. Bumblebee took off to borrow the Solar Reconflabulator from the Weaponomics Supply Closet and repair the machine. Poison Ivy walked by the cafe on her way to check out a mega sale at the Lexcorp Garden Supply store. Commissioner Gordon and the Metropolis Special Crimes Unit retrieved Croc. Batgirl tried to study at the cafe but the broken smoothie machine was making too much noise.
Bumblebee returned and repaired the machine to good as new. At 8 pm, Giganta grabbed the wrong order and took Lois Lane's drink. Trevor tried to explain but Giganta took offense and grabbed him. Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl, and Lady Shiva intervened and were eager to take her down for extra credit to become top of the class. On the Friday before the annual Hero of the Year ceremony, Harley Quinn took Big Barda to Capes & Cowls and showed her around. Harley was grossed out when Trevor presented a large double spinach, sardine, and pickleberry smoothie to Supergirl. She claimed it reminded her of her favorite Kryptonian dessert. Bumblebee and Batgirl ran in and asked Supergirl for her Mnemosyne Crystal. The next day, Batgirl and Bumblebee went to Capes & Cowls and asked Trevor if he saw Dark Opal around. Trevor looked at a print out then admitted he hadn't. Wonder Woman and Supergirl arrived without any leads as well. Instead of returning to campus to survey to city, Batgirl took them to the secret Batcave she kept behind Capes & Cowls' arcade area.
On a Friday afternoon, Supergirl and Miss Martian went to Capes & Cowls to see if anyone saw the theft of the Batjet. Lady Shiva promised to keep her eyes peeled but no leads were found. Beast Boy volunteered to join the search and changed into a hawk. Shortly after their creation by Lena Luthor, Green Kryptomoites ran amok in Metropolis. Several invade Capes & Cowls and attacked the patrons and Trevor. Batgirl and Flash came to their aid. Flash collected the Kryptomites in a trash can but Trevor was affected by a Red Kryptomite and started smashing everything in sight. At the end of the school year, Capes & Cowls offered Tamaran Gorka Berry Pie, Honey Smoothies, Apokoliptian Fire Chilli, Krypton Krispies, Superfood Cake in Quinoa, Cauliflower, or Spinach, Bean Burritos, and Soder Cola. The students of Super Hero High saved the cafe from 52 robberies, 13 super-villain takeovers, 3 giant attacks, and one scary spider.
Just as summer vacation was starting, Capes & Cowls was paid a visit by the messenger god Hermes. He found their beverage to be exquisite but Wonder Woman made him go back to pay for it and tip Trevor after explaining it wasn't like getting things from servants on Mount Olympus. Frost got a summer job at Capes & Cowls. Frost, however, kept freezing customer's drinks by mistake. Frost wasn't so sure it was working out but Trevor pointed out snow cone sales were up 600 percent even though they weren't even on the menu. Frost saved him from Apollo's arrow. She quit to go help save the city from Ares and Strife's war. Trevor was relieved. Capes & Cowls was used as a temporary shelter when Giganta caused a city-wide blackout. Thunder and Lightning helped guide people in. Ares, still under the calming influence of the Amulet of Harmonia, entered Capes & Cowls to give Wonder Woman a peace offering - the Golden Fleece of legend. Wonder Woman, Batgirl, and Supergirl were skeptical at first but hung out with him.
Catwoman happened to be ordering a milk and saw the amulet. Unable to resist, she tricked Harley into trying out for a damsel in distress role to lure the girls back to school while she gassed the cafe with a Pollen Grenade from Ivy. While Ares leaned over to pick it up, Catwoman lowered herself from the ceiling and stole the amulet. Ares crushed the grenade and was irate. He grew giant sized and erupted out of Capes & Cowls demanding his amulet. Krypto, Supergirl's pet dog on Krypton, arrived on Earth and had no idea he gained super powers. He ran around Capes & Cowls at high speed then out the back door. Supergirl, Beast Boy, Hawkgirl, and Catwoman investigated. Supergirl and Krypto recognized each other and embraced. Green Lantern Hal Jordan's going away party was held at Capes & Cowls. Footage of Jordan capturing Solomon Grundy on a roof top near S.T.A.R. Labs was played. Lois Lane and Jessica Cruz visited to get an interview from Jordan. He assured them a new Green Lantern would be chosen to protect Earth while he went to Oa to complete his training.
Solomon Grundy interrupted the festivities to get revenge on Jordan but he was distracted by the Super Food Cake on the counter. Starfire, Supergirl, Star Sapphire, Batgirl, Flash, and Wonder Woman worked together to take him down while Cruz recorded from under a table. Jessica Cruz was scared by the battle between the Supers and Sinestro. She ran away from Lane's side and hid in Capes & Cowls' kitchen. A Green Lantern Ring found her and declared she was chosen to be the next Junior Green Lantern of Earth. She was horrified and took a few steps back. The ring announced she was chosen to be the new Junior Green Lantern. She panicked and knocked it outside with a pot then pulled the shutter down but it came in through the front. She ran out the back door but it followed so she trapped it in a trash can. Cruz ran out into the street but bumped into Batgirl, who wanted took at her recorded footage and see if it caught Sinestro entering his passcode. They returned to the kitchen. Cruz attempted to hide the ring but Batgirl finally saw it.
Cruz admitted she was too scared but Batgirl told her not all heroes have to be fearless and have to overcome their fears to do what's right. She implored her to believe in her super self. Cruz put on the ring, suddenly recited the Green Lantern oath then transformed into a Green Lantern. After Starfire's dance completed, she ate with Supergirl, Wonder Woman, and Katana at Capes & Cowls. Starfire apologized that it wasn't the kind of dance they thought but Wonder Woman admitted it was still fun. Steve Trevor asked Wonder Woman to dance. Katana informed her he meant the other kind. They slow danced. During night watch, Catwoman stopped at Capes & Cowls for milk after she fought Killer Croc. The next day, the Super Hero High Dance Committee, consisting of Supergirl, Katana, Harley Quinn, Frost, and Bumblebee, met at Capes & Cowls to discuss the spring dance. Harley as adamant about it going down without a hitch in light of the "dance" with Korugar Academy. Frost asked her chill out with the yelling.
Supergirl suggested heat vision baked cookies made on the spot. Bumblebee stated her DJ playlist was prepped and popping. Katana had ice sculptures covered. Harley pointed out the ratio of single tickets sold compared to couples tickets was way outta whack. She wanted to boost numbers with match making. Frost didn't think any good came from interfering in other peoples' love lives. Katana recalled Harley could barely match her own socks. Supergirl and Bumblebee were keen on helping Harley. Bumblebee noticed Steve Trevor coming out from the back and knew where to start. Lady Shiva quizzed Wonder Woman about the definition of momentum. Supergirl and Bumblebee hid in the booth next to them and attached a string to Wonder Woman's drink. They pulled on it to spill the juice and prompt Trevor to run over to wipe it. They hoped Trevor would ask her to the dance. He did not and only made small talk. They left and found Mayor Sackett waiting outside for them.
That night, Wonder Woman, Lady Shiva, and Flash departed after the Save The Day Alarm was triggered. Trevor dusted and noticed Wonder Woman's customer of the month portrait. He got a text on his phone alerting him he was selected and he was to report to Mayor Sackett at S.T.A.R. Labs immediately. Trevor closed up shop early and headed out.
(Novels only) Lois Lane approached Wonder Woman for an interview in exchange for treating her to fruit smoothies and sweet potato fries at Capes & Cowls. Wonder Woman and Lane would continue to meet at the cafe to discuss the investigation into anonymous threats sent to the former. Wonder Woman came to Trevor's aid when some unruly students from CAD Academy tried to trip him and make him drop their orders. Wonder Woman caught him and the food then used her Lasso of Truth on them and made them reveal their biggest fears. Over a week later, Wonder Woman and Lane met again. Lane talked about Mandy Bowin, their suspect, was enrolled in an elite music conservatory and avoiding all mention of having been at Super Hero High. Capes & Cowls was considered as a venue for Harley's Harley's Dance-O-Rama but it already marked off land behind the cafe for a temporary animal preserve while the Metropolis Zoo prepared its new wildlife sanctuary. Lois Lane interviewed Harley outside Capes & Cowls after she won Hero of the Month.
After she ordered her usual honey drink, Steve Trevor broke some bad news to Bumblebee that Capes & Cowls had to refrain from buying honey because the supplier said honey supply was decreasing so prices skyrocketed. Trevor also added fresh fruits and vegetables were getting scarce, too. This was later discovered to be part of Queen Bee's plan for world domination.
(LEGO only) Gladys quit before the lunch rush after Harley Quinn put fruit on her face and made Beast Boy chuck his drink on her. Gorilla Grodd entered and ordered 87 banana cream pies. Wonder Woman volunteered to fill in as the waitress but she was terrible. At the end of the day, the cafe was a total mess. Mad Harriet plotted to rob the cafe but she was hit by a Blue Kryptomite. She barged in through the glass and demanded Grodd's pies. Wonder Woman returned inside and eventually knocked her out with a plate.
