The Belle Reve Penitentiary and Juvenile Detention Center is a prison for super-villains located in Louisiana. Its been incarcerating super-villains for over 100 years. After Granny Goodness' plan to brainwash Super Hero High School's students to serve as an advance force for Darkseid failed, Granny, her Female Furies, and Perry the Parademon duplicates were sent to Belle Reve Penitentiary and Juvenile Detention Center. Vice Principal Gorilla Grodd personally threw them through the Boom Tube to Belle Reve.
During Spring Break, Lashina planned to break into Belle Reve and free the incarcerated Female Furies. Super Hero High School intercepted her plans. Principal Waller gave a special assignment to Frost and Katana in her Task Force X class to stake out the prison. Lashina boomed onto the premises in her tank and breached the side of the main building. She found the office and tied up a guard named Brian. Lashina addressed Frost and Katana over the loudspeaker and gave them two minutes to find Brian or her Agony Matrix would activate. Big Barda offered her expertise in disabling the matrix simply because she liked Brian for giving her extra mashed potatoes. Katana freed her and they ran to the office. While Katana and Barda saved Brian, Frost took on Stompa, Mad Harriet, and Lashina. Frost managed to neutralize Stompa and Harriet but Lashina electrocuted her. With Katana, Barda, and Brian closing in, Lashina was forced to retreat. Frost and Katana informed Waller about Barda and she was soon accepted as a transfer to Super Hero High.
At the start of summer, Supergirl checked with Belle Reve and all their inmates were accounted for. Later in the summer, Lashina posed as a criminal called the Cloaked Shadow in order to be caught and taken in Belle Reve undetected. Hawkgirl and Batgirl soon caught her and escorted her inside none the wiser. She revealed herself and blew a poison dart into Commissioner Gordon's right arm. She presented the girls with two options: save Gordon and stop her from freeing the Furies. They went after the antidote in Metropolis. Lashina broke out the other Furies and they blew a hole through a wall. Stompa opened a Boom Tube back to Apokolips. Brian turned the corner and watched as the Furies went back home. Captain Cold escaped Belle Reve and relocated to the North Pole. Around Christmas, he was airlifted back by a Metropolis Special Crimes Unit helicopter after Mera and Frost froze him in a block of ice.
During a roller derby match between Super Hero High's Savage Supers and the Female Furies, Big Barda was pushed towards Belle Reve. At her velocity, Barda would crash and release all the criminals in the cellblock. Batgirl used her Bat Skates to catch up then deployed her parachute and dropped Barda into Wonder Woman's arms. Barda threw her skates like a bola and stopped the Furies' charge.
