The Lasso of Truth is Wonder Woman's primary weapon. Aside from functioning as a lasso, it also forces those captured to tell the truth. Hippolyta hired the highly recommended Professor Minerva to locate the three missing relics known as the Amulet of Harmonia, Lasso of Truth, and Claw of Deceit. Hippolyta warned Minerva the relics were protected by magic and only she could touch them. Eventually, Minerva found them in a cavern near the shore. She left to alert Hippolyta but Barbara Ann Minerva, her daughter, ignored her. Barbara Ann Minerva picked up the Lasso of Truth and Claw of Deceit, which activated the magic curse. An illusion of Cerberus manifested and attacked her. Princess Diana came to her rescue and used the Lasso of Truth. Unable to withstand its power, the illusion disappeared. Minerva lied to her mother about touching anything while Diana confessed to touching the Lasso. Hippolyta declared her honesty and true heart proved she was meant to use the Lasso of Truth. Diana promised to honor it and use it for good.

Harley Quinn was accidentally tangled in it and confessed to Wonder Woman she clogged the toilet last week. During a botched demonstration in Weaponomics, she entangled Mr. Fox and he confessed to eating Principal Waller's yogurt in the faculty fridge, blaming his dog when brussel sprouts make him gasy, and he moonlights as competitive dancer Sly Foxington. During the 100th Annual Super Triathlon, Golden Glider tried to sabotage Super Hero High by stealing the Lasso but Cheetah, informed by Waller of a spy, took it back. Wonder Woman misconstrued what was going on at first but learned the truth after the event concluded. On the day of the end of the semester, Wonder Woman grabbed Cheetah with the lasso after she fell from the Amethyst. She inadvertently told the truth about sabotaging Lucius Fox's Invisible Jetpack and plotting against Wonder Woman at every turn. The night before semester finals, Wonder Woman captured Giganta in Centennial Park with the Lasso and admitted even she couldn't escape it.

Lex Luthor used stealth technology to steal the Lasso and captured Wonder Woman with it. While in search of Dark Opal, Wonder Woman found Giganta in the city performing court ordered supervised community service. Giganta willingly allowed Wonder Woman to place the Lasso around one of her fingers while she asked about Opal. Giganta told the truth and admitted she didn't know anything. The Lasso proved useful in nullifying Dark Opal and Eclipso's magic once they were captured with it. Opal was powerless and told the truth as any being would. Eclipso lost the element of invisibility and reappeared when she was caught. While using her Wonder Cycle, Wonder Woman can fire her lasso from it and capture any criminals. In the finale of the first battle against Ares, Wonder Woman learned there was a third solution called Philia or love of friendship. Wonder Woman tied the Lasso around her wrist and declared she would do anything and sacrifice anything for her friends even if it mean joining Ares' side to ensure their survival.

The Lasso illuminated and a surge in electricity was visible. Wonder Woman continued and started explaining what she treasured about each of her friends. Strife's hold on the Supers was broken and Ares was powerless and tiny. In the second battle, the lasso failed to hold Ares for long. While Harley tried to reason with June Moone, she had Wonder Woman lasso Enchantress. Wonder Woman lassoed Solomon Grundy after he interrupted Hal Jordan's going away party in Capes & Cowls Cafe. Cheetah was captured with the Lasso one night while trying to steal answers to the Weaponomics midterm. When Fox entered the classroom, Cheetah was compelled to confess and added she always stole the answers before every test. Fox was about to give her a month of detention but she added she thought his sweater vest was nerdy. Fox was insulted and gave her two months instead. Cheetah decided to try and steal the Lasso. She hid outside the dorms.

Once Wonder Woman passed by with Batgirl and Bumblebee, Cheetah tried to grab it from behind but the doors closed on her. She tried again but found herself in the middle of target practice and took evasive action to avoid getting blasted by Starfire, Cyborg, Frost, or Bumblebee. Once Wonder Woman flew down from the Amethyst to the balcony, Cheetah leaped for the Lasso but Wonder Women flew off. Cheetah fell over into a bush. In her human form, Cheetah stole Giganta's earring to draw Wonder Woman out. During the skirmish, she stole the Lasso and stored it in a bedroom closet of her condo. Cheetah planned to get her revenge and use the Lasso on Wonder Woman. Cheetah lied to Wonder Woman and lured her into the sewers then attacked with the Lasso. Cheetah tried to expose Wonder Woman's regret to the world, but she simply confessed she regretted they couldn't be friends. Bumblebee, Katana, Harley, Supergirl, and Batgirl came to her rescue. Cheetah believed the Lasso didn't work since no one was that good.

Wonder Woman used the Lasso to capture Blackfire, Lobo, Bleez, Mongal, and Maxima at once to end Starfire's dance. Wonder Woman used the Lasso of Truth to capture Rampage before she could flee from S.T.A.R. Labs after her super transfusion program was found out by the Supers.
