According to legend, the Amulet of Harmonia is one of two objects with the power to render the Shield of Ares useless. Long ago, three artifacts known as the Amulet of Harmonia, Lasso of Truth, and Claw of Deceit were lost on Themyscira. Hippolyta hired the highly recommended Professor Minerva to locate the three relics. Hippolyta warned Minerva the relics were protected by magic and only she could touch them. Eventually, Minerva found them in a cavern near the shore. Professor Minerva logged them and was credited with their discovery. The Amulet remained in Queen Hippolyta's private collection on Themyscira. Strife went to the island after she stole the Golden Olive Branch and Shield of Ares. She used her powers to set the Amazons against each other while she stole the Amulet. As part of the plan, Strife hid both the Amulet and Branch to ensure Ares would be unstoppable. Wonder Woman used the third method and displayed Philia to defeat Ares and Strife. The Amulet was recovered and returned to Themyscira.

Unable to defeat Ares at the Party of Plenty on Themyscira, Wonder Woman instructed Harley Quinn to go to the Hall of Honors and get the Amulet of Harmonia. After Harley found it, she jumped off the balcony of the palace onto Are's mace, ran up his arm, and jumped off. She stamped the Amulet on Ares' forehead and activated it. Ares' anger was soothed and he immediately felt harmonious. He apologized for ruining the party, placed some of the broken columns back into place, and shrank back down to normal size. He decided to go back home and meditate. Ares embraced his new sense of peace. He later went to the Capes & Cowls Cafe to give Wonder Woman his Golden Fleece as a peace offering. Catwoman noticed the amulet and was enamoured. She tricked Harley into luring Batgirl, Supergirl, and Wonder Woman to school while she gassed the cafe with one of Ivy's Pollen Grenades. While Ares leaned down to pick up the grenade, Catwoman lowered down from the ceiling and stole the amulet. Ares was enraged. He grew giant-sized and erupted from the building, demanding the amulet back.

Catwoman returned to Super Hero High and placed it in her vault in her dorm room. Miss Martian used her psionic powers to locate it. Flash, Batgirl, and Miss Martian examined the vault. Flash determined it had a visual scanner that would only clear Catwoman. Miss Martian used her shapeshifting power to pose as Catwoman. Batgirl gave the amulet to Flash to run to Supers in the city fighting Ares. Catwoman overheard Bumblebee talking about the amulet's power and claimed she only took it because she thought it was a cool necklace. As the sneakiest cat at Super Hero High, Catwoman volunteered to get the amulet back on Ares. As she followed Ares roof to roof, she mused it would have looked great with her prom dress. As Ares raised an arm to smash Supergirl and Wonder Woman, Catwoman leaped and got the necklace around one of his fingers. Ares shrunk back down to normal size with a gnarly headache. He looked around and realized he went on a rampage again. He placed the amulet around his neck in remorse.
