The Agony Matrix is an Apokoliptian device designed to inflict continuous pain upon others. During Spring Break, Lashina broke into the Bell Reve Penitentiary and planted an Agony Matrix on a guard named Brian. Frost and Katana had two minutes before it activated. Big Barda offered her expertise in disabling it. She succeeded. Katana, Barda, and Brian went after Lashina but she retreated. It was stored in the Weaponomics Vault at Super Hero High School but was stolen by Deadshot and Plastique. Batgirl stopped everyone from charging inside the Daily Planet because the Agony Matrix was affixed to the front doors. Deadshot ordered them to stand down or he would open fire. Harley tried to call his bluff but she was electrocuted by him. Katana, Frost, and Flash split off to get Deadshot while Batgirl and Lady Shiva worked on the Agony Matrix. Shiva was unable to get a hold of Big Barda on the phone to get her expertise on Apokoliptian tech but Commissioner Gordon was on hand and deactivated it.
