Red Tornado is a teacher at Super Hero High School and level-headed unemotional android. He has an admiration for the grace and art of flying. As a result, perhaps, he teaches Flyer's Education. Students who pass Red Tornado's intense aerial obstacle course consider it a point of pride. He was looking forward to seeing Wonder Woman in action but was aghast when she scored a zero on the course, due in part to Cheetah's sabotage of the safety belt worn during the class. At some point, he helped teach Wonder Woman how to fight and fly at the same time.
When Batgirl unveiled her Batjet, Red Tornado took her on a Flyer's Exam so she could fly licensed. However, she could not do a proper left, execute a mock save the day exercise or land properly. Red flunked her. Batgirl practiced with Bumblebee, Hawkgirl, Wonder Woman and Supergirl. Red landed on the hood of the Batjet and reminded her she was flying without a license. He assigned her to detention and carried her in the Batjet back to school. The following semester, Red Tornado attended Etrigan's surprise birthday party. He appreciated how seriously June Moone took her birthday committee duties. Mrs. Clayface posed as Red Tornado and confiscated Batgirl's Batjet and Flyer's License under a flimsy charge of driving 282 in a 280 zone. Red Tornado agreed to help Wildcat with a drill during P.E. class. He put on a gorilla costume and waited outside the gym. Not hearing his cue, Red Tornado peeked in and asked Wildcat if he was prepared yet. Wildcat realized real gorillas just kidnapped Vice Principal Grodd.
Red Tornado judged a gymnastic competition with Gorilla Grodd and Principal Waller but Bleez crashed the meet, angry about her lifetime ban, and pinned them to a wall after using a giant fan construct on them.
(Novels only) Red Tornadp often told Wonder Woman about how he met her mother Hippolyta at the Super Summit CLXXVII, called "Flight 'n' Fight," in Florida and gave her red roses. For the 100th Annual Super Triathlon, Red Tornado was in charge of training the flyers selected to participate. During Parents' Night, Red Tornado tried to talk to Hippolyta but babbled then embarrassed everyone when he knelt before her. Red Tornado held a class on tackling natural disasters and how to navigate through all kinds of unfriendly conditions, including hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and tsunamis. For a natural disaster themed Save the Day drill, Red Tornado circled the globe and was saved by Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Hawkgirl before a meteor shower hit him. They were lauded for how they successfully saved Tornado.
