Crazy Quilt is a reformed supervillain gone good thanks to Principal Waller's program, and is currently a Home Ec. teacher at Super Hero High School. Eccentric, over-the-top, and always entertaining, Crazy Quilt's Super Suit Design class is one of the most popular and important at Super Hero High. He stresses that a super suit must bear the qualities of creativity, craftsmanship, and practicality. Quilt ears European-cut slacks, a multi-colored patchwork vest, an outrageously purple shirt with matching ascot, and a pair of glasses with-impossibly-lenses that were three different colors. He is all about having an uber-awesome super-suit and exploiting the flaws of your enemy's lackluster style. As a tradition, a student's first suit is due at the end of the semester. He got to see Wonder Woman's super suit in action saving Lucius Fox and concluded it was one of the finest examples of supersuiting he ever saw. He awarded Wonder Woman an A+ grade.
While Batgirl and Supergirl raced to the cafeteria to get the last piece of superfood cake for the day, Batgirl fired a grapple on Supergirl and was dragged. Crazy Quilt ducked the grapple and immediately recognized they went "cake crazy." At the end of the next semester, Crazy Quilt burst into the last session of Intro to Super Suits and declared a fashion emergency. Wonder Woman mused he was just being a trendsetter. Crazy Quilt thanked her and took role. Supergirl was absent so he inquired if anyone knew where she was. Near the end of class, Batgirl talked about her super suit. Crazy Quilt commended her and wished everyone good luck on finals. The Thursday before the Hero of the Year gala, Crazy Quilt admired Star Sapphire and Poison Ivy's decorations but chided Cheetah and told her to return the award where she found it. The day of Hero of the Year, Quilt was still rehearsing for a dance put on by students. He was frustrated with Cheetah.
Principal Waller and Wonder Woman entered the theater. Quilt refused to let Waller cancel the ceremony but she corrected him and asked for extra bodies for increased security. Quilt was hesitant to give up anyone as each dancer was a unique snowflake in his production. He had second thoughts and gave Waller Cheetah. After Eclipso and Dark Opal were defeated, Quilt continued with his show but the theater was empty except for Beast Boy, in the form of a cricket. He informed Quilt the party moved to the Kent Farm. Quilt brought macaroons and the Hero of the Year award. He awarded Bumblebee Hero of the Year but belayed his speech about the smallest hero making the biggest difference so everyone could eat. The following semester, Crazy Quilt attended Etrigan's surprise birthday party. In Katana's comic book project, Crazy Quilt was receiving the Fashion Designer of the Year award at The Trendies, Metropolis' biggest fashion award show, when Mad Hatter stole his spring collection.
Just as he accepted the award, Katana returned with his collection. The crowd was enamoured with her. Grodd and Silver St. Cloud gave the award to Katana instead. Quilt agreed as Grodd carried him away. Quilt attended the Super Hero High Student Art Show Fundraiser. Quilt assigned his class with making stealth suits and paired up Batgirl with Poison Ivy after Katana spooked him. The day before the due date, he was wrapped in silk and kidnapped from his classroom by Killer Moth. Batgirl's systems detected the activity and alerted her while she was in the Capes & Cowls Cafe Batbunker. Quilt was forced to make a new super suit for Killer Moth. He quickly agreed just so he wouldn't have to look at Moth's current suit anymore. Moth was testy and yelled at him to hurry up. Batgirl and Ivy infiltrated Moth's hideout and pulled Quilt to safety with Ivy's vines. After Moth was captured, he gave the pair an A+ for their project. He asked Batgirl to make sure the District Attorney knew to charge Moth with one count of kidnapping, forced labor, and a whole slew of crimes against fasion.
(Novels only) Crazy Quilt is a graduate of the prestigious Fashion Institute of Super Heroes. He also was a semi-finalist in Project Supersuit but claims he won in his resume. He keeps a mini-blaster hidden in the sole of his shoe. He can recommend the right accessory for any mission. For the 100th Annual Super Triathlon, Crazy Quilt worked with Star Sapphire and the Super Sewing Club to modify the super suits of students on the Triathlon team so they had a cohesive look. Crazy Quilt volunteered for a Save the Day drill. He was rescued from tons of boulders by Starfire and Supergirl. During his assault on Super Hero High, Dragon King unleased a blast of fire from his mouth and set Crazy Quilt's quirky vintage sports car on fire. Quilt's gasped sob could be heard over the roar of the battle.
