Strife is the Greek goddess of chaos and discord and half-sister of Wonder Woman. Strife and Zeus had a falling out and never saw each other for many years. At approximately 1:00, Strife stole the Golden Olive Branch from its exhibit in the Greek Hall of the British Museum. Katana, Batgirl, and Beast Boy happened to be at the museum as part of their European summer vacation. On behalf of the museum, they started asking people outside near the London Eye if they saw a girl. Katana spotted her in a crowd and they gave chase past the Sherlock Holmes Museum and Buckingham Palace. With no time to waste, she ran into Big Ben and threw a sleep grenade down the stairwell. Beast Boy and Katana were rendered unconscious but Batgirl avoided exposure and climbed the clock face. Strife kicked her grapnel line loose. By the time Beast Boy rescued her, Strife was gone. Katana found a map of the Louvre left behind by Strife. They headed to Paris but were arrested for the theft of the Shield of Ares after Batgirl hacked security to get into a storage room.

Strife trespassed on Themsycira and stole the Amulet of Harmonia while her powers made the Amazons squabble amongst each other. She hid the Golden Olive Branch and Amulet and reunited with Ares on Mount Olympus. They demanded Wonder Woman but to Strife's annoyance, she was followed to Olympus by Batgirl, Beast Boy, and Katana. With the Shield, Ares was invincible and retracted his long-held promise never to invade Wonder Woman's residence. Strife placed her aiblings Apollo, Aphrodite, Demeter, Hermes, Janus, and Siracca under her spell. They all teleported to Metropolis and begun their plan to spread hate, violence, and discord. Strife helped to feed Ares with the conflict of Metropolis' citizens and he grew larger and more powerful. Strife later set the supers against each other. Wonder Woman, Bumblebee, Siracca, and Hawkgirl peaced it together that a display of philia or love of friendship could break Strife's spell. Wonder Woman tied the Lasso of Truth to her wrist and declared she would sacrifice anything for her friends to ensure their survival. The Lasso surged and she broke the Shield of Ares. Ares shrunk and became powerless, forcing him to retreat. Strife followed and called him a little rat for running away.
