For a long time, Darkseid, ruler of Apokolips, searched the known universe for the solution to the Anti-Life Equation, a formula so powerful that it could erase all of existence and remake it in his image. He failed to solve it. Years ago, Darkseid hijacked the Boom Tubes on Earth and invaded with his army. The world's heroes nearly lost the battle but saved the day. As a safety precaution, Principal Waller was given sole access to the five Boom Tubes and kept them under strict lockdown at Super Hero High School. Darkseid's many agents, including Granny Goodness and the Female Furies, continued to serve his plans to invade Earth again but they failed to unleash destruction for years. While Speed Queen and Mad Harriet reported to Darkseid, they admitted it was futile to keep trying. Mad Harriet admitted they were too smart, super smart even. That gave Darkseid an idea. He decided to use the best minds of Super Hero High to finally solve the Anti-Life Equation.
Eventually, Darkseid managed to infiltrate Super Hero High disguised as a human named Dr. Seid and was hired as the new math teacher. Grodd introduced Seid to Batgirl and Wonder Woman first but couldn't recall how to pronounce his last name. Dr. Seid stated it was like the "side of a barn door" and was excited to be working with the greatest minds in the galaxy (and others). After Raven returned from months in the future with partial amnesia, Batgirl and Supergirl took her to Dr. Seid. He couldn't do much calculations until he knew more about Raven's portal. He slipped off his step ladder but Raven cast a spell and caught him with a chair. He thanked her and remarked how uber-useful her magic was. The Book of Legends flew into Seid's classroom and animated his step ladder. Raven disintegrated the ladder and Wonder Woman caught Seid as he lept away in fear. Batgirl noticed part of his chalkboard was torn and a "crazy" looking equation was written behind it.
Seid nervously insisted it was just a few meaningless scribbles to keep his brain busy then wished them luck in saving the school. He hid his equation in an extra credit math problem given to Super Hero High's math club. Bumblebee attempted to solve it. At midnight, Miss Martian checked in on her and suggested she take a break. Bumblebee decided to get some sleep and start over when she woke up. Darkseid sneaked into Bumblebee's dorm and trapped her consciousness in her sleep cycle. Miss Martian found her unresponsive and called in Raven for help. Raven realized she could be trapped in her mind forever if they didn't enter her dream and free her. Miss Martian elected to go in. She found Bumblebee working on an equation at a perpetually unending chalkboard. A pair of giant red eyes appeared and blasted at Miss Martian. After two blasts, Miss Martian had enough. She surrounded herself in a yellow energy sphere and attacked. Darkseid fled from Bumblebee's mind. Miss Martian went after her and they woke up.
Miss Martian mentioned the red eyes. Raven realized those were the same eyes she saw when she went to a dark future earlier in the school year and mused it was drawing near. Seid selected his top students - Bumblebee, Supergirl, Raven, Batgirl, Katana, Wonder Woman, Starfire, and Beast Boy - to compete in the Tri-Matholon for the Math Club. Harley heard about the Pi Trophy and decided to give it a try. They did a mock multiple choice exam to practice for the first leg of the competition. Everyone except Harley fell into an odd trance and focused on completing the exam. Harley decided to doodle a clown head on hers. Seid called time and looked through the papers. He realized Harley solved the Anti-Life Equation with the highest test score. All he had to do was carry the one. He revealed his true form and the supers snapped out of the trance. Wonder Woman defended Katana from an Omega Effect eye beam with her Wonder Shield. Darkseid declared Earth was his. He introduced himself and his plans but Harley kept interrupting him.
Wonder Woman and Supergirl protected her from the Omega Effect. Darkseid flew to the roof and used the Amethyst to transmit the Equation. Raven remembered the future she saw was a world filled with Darkseids. As everyone was transformed into Darkseid, Batgirl told Harley, Raven, and Bumblebee to re-activate their Anti-Hall Monitoring app. They were teleported to the Anti-Hall Monitor's pocket universe and were spared from the Equation's power. Keying on Harley's words, Batgirl realized they could change the solution to the Equation by adding new variables, namely making the other supers remember who they were. After Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Katana were changed back, the Amethyst reverted to normal and changed everyone back. Darkseid was shocked and thought it was impossible. Supergirl punched him into the air then Wonder Woman slammed him into the pavement with her Lasso of Truth. The supers attacked him at once.
Batgirl declared he was wrong in thinking victory was changing everyone into the same thing and real strength came from differences they all shared through a common bond. Darkseid declared he would have revenge on them then vanished through a Boom Tube he generated with his hand. Bumblebee wondered what they would do if he returned. Batgirl declared they would be ready and waiting.
