Sazu is the assistant of Maxima, Queen of the planet Almerac. Unlike Maxima, Sazu had a genuine concern for the social issues such as poverty and hunger plaguing the people. She was seduced by one of Maxima's suitors, De'Cine, into believing he would cure the planet's problems. When De'Cine ursurped control, he sent Sazu to prison along with Maxima and Superman. After Maxima was restored to the throne, she forgave Sazu and allowed her to retain her position.
