Selma Reesdale is a detective in the Gotham City Police Department. Like most in the department, she holds a high level of respect for Commissioner James Gordon.
While checking on the Special Crimes Dangerous Evidence Vault, Reesdale happened upon Catwoman raiding it. Soon after, a device activated and transported all of the men to an alternate dimension. Oddly enough, Reesdale was taken, too. After the device's polarity was reversed and everyone returned, Reesdale revealed to Barbara Gordon that she was a trans-sexual, that she was originally a man.
