Dan Reilly was a typical middle class worker. He was employed as a steam fitter at the Gotham Navy Yard and even volunteered for a rescue mission in Crime Alley. However, one night, Reilly was taken by Boss Biggis' chain gang and put into a forced labor camp outside Gotham. Eventually, Reilly lost hope but he soon befriended a new worker, an amnesiac Bruce Wayne. After Batman shut down the gang, Reilly was returned to his family and amazed to see his friend was actually a billionaire.
