Principal Aguilar is the head administrator of Dakota Union High School. Mired in paperwork and gang violence, Aguilar is inspired by the few standouts such as Virgil Hawkins, Richie Foley, Frieda Goren, and Daisy Watkins while keeping a close eye on others such as Francis Stone and Royce Axelrod. He also takes pride in presiding over student affairs such as student body president election. However, Aguilar also has to deal with hard decisions. When Jimmy Osgood, a victim of bullies, shot another student by mistake, Aguilar ordered all students to see the school counselor and issued several penalties. Osgood was sent to juvenile hall and the bullies were suspended and assigned to community service.
