Thousands of years before Atlantis sunk below the ocean surface, it was ruled by sorceror kings. The ancient lands were attacked by Icthultu and the Old Ones. Poseidon, the current ruler of Atlantis, gathered all the ambiant mystical energy and forged the Trident. With it, he successfully banished the Old Ones. However, part of magic taken powered spells that prevented Atlantis from sinking.
